Did anyone notice that if you go to the Sprint coverage map, and select the GS8 as the phone, it shows less LTE coverage (and more 3G coverage around edge areas)?
-
Updates lol, unlocked variants hardly ever get updates.
Oh. Well that could be a determining factor.

For those who have not yet pulled the trigger... Best Buy is going to start selling Unlocked versions starting May 9th. It's unclear if they will have them in stock or this is a preorder date.
I'm thinking of returning my carrier locked version and get the unlocked version. The carrier locked version of the S8+ at Target was $849, but the unlocked version at Best Buy is going to be $825. Seems like a no-brainer to wait for unlocked.
Does anybody know if there will be any Sprint network performance difference between the locked carrier version and the unlocked version?
Would I miss out on anything if I bought that version?

I keep reading a lot about the Sprint website being bad, but what is wrong with it? To me, it is just the design. But the design is very trending and in with website designs. And that is more a personal preference vs a functioning working website.
Works solid on FireFox and Brave both desktop and mobile versions. I recently changed my plan and didn't have a single issue. I log in monthly as well. Pages load fine. They load fast. Etc.
The only "issue" I see is having to 2FA every time you log in, but I do this with any site that supports it.
Well for one, for me, the coverage map page looks totally crappy. It looks like the CSS for the page is not being applied. This is in both Chrome and Firefox.
Also, when I log into my account, there's still a mix of old styling and new styling.

I'd echo this, but add that I'm falling into this new usage pattern with unlocking the phone. It's still a bit quirky when the face and iris don't work, then I have to reach up to the finger printer scanner. I also find that the double tap power button to launch camera isn't as reliable as the double tap the home button from the Note5, but still works. Again, some of this is on me for speed of tapping perhaps?
I also thought I'd have a hard time gripping the phone or have errant touches on the sides, etc. but none of that has happened. Samsung has tuned the software pretty well on this beast. Including that amazing battery life I've posted about here before. I do think the camera is not much better than the Note5, but time will tell as I take more and more photos and perhaps Samsung tweaks their software some.
Very pleased with my purchase thus far. You get used to this huge screen so quickly, looking at my kids S5 phone looks like I'm looking at the first touch screen phone. lol.
Cool, yeah, I was thinking about getting just the S8 (not plus) later this year.

So, how's everybody enjoying those new GS8's? Any reviews?

Their coverage map was just updated. To me, it seems like in some places where there was before just 3G, there is now LTE.
-
I'm installing it now.
I successfully installed the update yesterday. So far, no issues.

Android N is now available for download
I'm installing it now.

I'm guessing all the models are the same, they are just software locked. /shrug
That's what I'm guessing also.

Just responding to the post that the reddit post is an April fools joke. I don't think that Sprint would joke but who knows in the social media age.
Yeah, I think it's a April Fools joke.

They didn't use the Galaxy s8 but Motorola device for a reason.
You kinda also gave to declare 4x4 mimo in FCC filings and they declared it only for b2/4/25/66.

Well that sucks.

Marcelo tweeted earlier today that the Galaxy Forever program is back.
I wonder how long they will keep it around this time.

Maybe Galaxy for life again. Unlimited upgrades.

I would have picked this, if they hadn't already had this and then discontinued it.
But maybe...

One of the hints: "On March 30, we're removing all limits."
Yeah, that hint is interesting. Maybe along with the GS8 launch, they will offer "true" unlimited data (no streaming bandwidth limit) plans if you purchase the phone.

Oh, it's about the Samsung launch.

Is anyone having trouble logging into their Sprint account? It keeps wanting me to go through two step every time I sign in. If I'm lucky enough to get in it seems as if I'm using two different websites then I get logged out again.
I'm having an issue where the first time I try to log in, it goes to a "We've hit a snag..." page. Then I try to login a second time and it works just fine.
I don't get the 2-step process (verification code) though.

Maybe taxes/fees included in the price, to copy TMobile.

Probably just the announcement and pre-order page for the LG G6, Sprint's first HPUE-capable device. No big news.
That page has been up for a while already.
-
It would have look much better if the front was black.
Yeah, I don't get why Apple can't make the fronts of the iPhones the same color as the backs.
Or is that just their "style". To have the front either white or black.
-
Probably some more Pokemon crap or maybe a tidal promotion.
Yeah, that's right. They do have that Tidal deal. Maybe it will be about that.
-
Any guesses on what this will be?
It will probably be something lame.

I think most carriers have disabled this in the past.
