I'm thinking that Sprint has made a deal with Meijer to put roof top small cells on their stores because I passed by a Meijer on the west side and went into a Meijer on Lake Lansing and SCP showed small cell each time. My signal peaked at -54dBm at times around the store on Lake Lansing.Screenshot_20180526-220133.thumb.png.b8368ef824eb39dab53098e61273cd81.png

I haven't noticed this at West Saginaw, Grand Ledge, or Ionia, but I'll be keeping an eye out.

Looks like older Unlimited Plans are being retired in the coming months. Those customers are getting moved onto Unlimited Freedom. This is a pretty big deal!!! Goodbye Everything Data...

Otherwise, Customers have the option to end their agreements without a Termination Fee. However, customers are still responsible for device costs/payments.

Did this come via email/sms or a bill insert?

  3. Anyone else jump on the DP2 release of Android P this week?  Was very surprised to see the expanded device selection that the preview is available for.

    https://developer.android.com/preview/devices/

    • OG Pixel / XL
    • Pixel 2 /XL
    • Essential
    • Nokia 7Plus
    • Oppo R15 Pro
    • Xperia XZ2
    • Vivo X21 / UD

Issues I've found on my Pixel 2 XL so far...

    • MS Apps don't work with InTune MDM configured
    • Gestures are flakey
    • Radio Switching between towers/data flow is odd

I don't know if this was a SCP/Qualcomm bug or not, but maybe T-Mobile has turned on MFBI. It only lasted a few seconds. This happened on my T-Mobile SIM btw....I don't have a Sprint account at the moment.

I may buy a cheap prepaid line and then port over for the 1 year free promo just so I can track T-Mobile LTE roaming rollout and then the merger.

If it was only just a few seconds and didn't hold, then I'm betting its actually SCP picking up Android cycling thru the bands or in the middle of a network change.  I see Sprint on Tmobile frequencies all the time in West Michigan, but its only a few seconds during B25/B41 changes or dropping to EVDO.

  5. After my Moto X Pure Edition experience with software updates falling off the map, I think I'll be sticking to Google devices.  At least I know what support I'm getting and for how long.

My buddy is still using my Moto X Pure, so the hardware is good.  Hopefully these can last for a couple cycles.

i wanna see what happens with LTE Support and camera development in the note series of phone including the note 9.

If Google and Sammy can ever get together on the "Google Play Edition" phones again, I'd buy a Note with AOSP in a heart beat.

  7. I've had the phone for 6hrs and just wow. This thing is fast as hell and so responsive.  I haven't played with the camera yet.  Very impressed with Google's transferring setup in Oreo.

I put a glass screen protector on it and hopefully my Live Case will be here on Tuesday!

Something from Forbes Regarding the in screen fingerprint scanner everyone keeps hoping for.

Seeing as I just got my Pixel 2 XL today, it'll be a couple years before I upgrade again.  By that time, the tech for screen fingerprint reader will be in all the phones.

What are your experiences with plans? I simply purchase as many lines as I need and do the work to make them work with whatever network works best where I have to setup and do my work. I have seen some low power/low data plans for battery devices and such, seems like a way to prime subscribers, but they can just keep selling me UDP's and we are all happy.

Any one use the Magic Box to help power projects? I have seen Boxes relay to hotspots, we made one directional beam from yagis, ductwork and punished a 2.5 wave through a forest for LTE push to talk between 4 users. Super users could attach apps to an LTE radio or use a phone to open doors or kick on a camera! Imagine if Gramma rolls in and Her Chair meets her at the door when her mac id hits your load balancing with the magic box? You just won the family picnic son. I tore mine down (like a dick, don't do this) put it in the car, in our attic, on a pole, and next week in the air.

What do your projects work towards? Long time listeners will note LTE connectivity is our main bag here in the not so sticks, we like some netsec, and putting in the time will yield a device that is convenient yet doesn't serve you ads based on surrounding conversation, search content and >9000 metadata fed into some Dale Gribble based conglomonstrosity.

Bonus:  Your previous content has been restored. I love this feature when I x when I should have not. 2012 Belusnecropolis appreciates this and donates 2018 accordingly.

Due to no High Speed Internet Offerings in my area (outside of the major carriers), I jumped on the $50/month unlimited hotspot offering in December.  I'm running a Mifi500, connected to a repeater with a single ethernet jack, that feeds the WAN port on my wireless router.  This is providing Wifi for my home and connectivity for Nest, 5 Echos, generic smart plugs, 3 Kindle Fire, 1 Kindle reader, and other devices.

I do have a Magic Box and the HotSpot loves being connected to it.

Well, the 4 different agents i spoke to (after nearly 30 min on hold) keep thinking i was returning a device (phone). And when i gave them the MB serial, they said it was invalid and kept asking for make and model of the device.

Anyway, i can't receive mail at the moment...need label via email so i can print it out. (the way it should be done anyway. why snail mail shipping labels these days. i have never had Amazon, ebay, or NewEgg ever send me a physical return label)

Honestly, reach out to Executive Support via twitter.  Tweet at Marcelo and they will reply, that's typically the only way to resolve one off or oddball issues like this.

Last time I requested a SIM from Sprint for my Moto X Pure, they shipped me 3 different SIMs. The last one they sent is was incorrect and the rep insisted it would work. I ended up visiting  6 Sprint stores and found it at a Store an hour away from home. At that time, shipping was free.

When I got My Pixel 2 XL, went to a corporate store and got the SIM for free, third party stores wanted to charge $10 bucks for the SIM

My buddy is using my old Moto X Pure right now and he went thru that same hoopla.  He went to a third party store and got sold the wrong SIM, ended up at a Corp store to get it working.  I remember when the MXPE first came out, the pain to get the correct SIM for that...

  12. I dusted off my Novatel Mifi 500 in December and hopped on the $50/month unlimited hotspot data offering.  Still don't have any reliable HSI where I live except the major mobile providers, so this has been a revelation.  Running all my smart home devices and the kids kindles is great.  It does lag occasionally as its Sprint's LTE, but its been a great three months so far.  It loves the MagicBox for the most part.

I've had to reboot it a few times when it gets stuck on B26 or the device hangs on the main menu.

Can't believe I've had this thing 4 1/2 yrs and its still kicking strong.
