  1. Can you define intrafrequency and interfrequency carrier aggregation.
  2. I hope the FCC doesn't drop the ball with the 600 MHz spectrum like they did with the 700 MHz spectrum where they didn't force LTE interoperability. Honestly the FCC should just have 1 LTE band class to cover all of the 600 MHz blocks. AWS and PCS spectrum have 1 band class to cover all the different blocks of spectrum.

    gs4 OTA

    Anyone download this yet?
  4. I didn't know that Sprint was doing carrier aggregation in their FIT testing. I guess it makes sense since they have to be testing out LTE-Advanced Release 10 software in a real world setting anyways.
  5. I hope Sprint tanks more. I'll be looking into buying into Sprint.
  6. So do we have confirmation on what the employer discounts are for these new My Way and My All-In plans? Is the discount on the "Talk + Text" portion or the data portion?
  7. 2 problems with a 10x10 LTE at this point. 1) Sprint NV towers don't support carrier aggregation (e.g. combining two 5x5 carriers) at this point. Only LTE-Advanced with release 10 software and above support carrier aggregation. No word from Sprint of when they will start launching LTE Advanced. 2) There are still plenty of Sprint LTE smartphones (mainly Samsung LTE phones) that only support 5 MHz FDD bandwidths (5x5 carrier). HTC, LG and Motorola LTE smartphones support 5 and 10 MHz FDD bandwidths so those phones will not have any problem connecting to a 10x10 LTE carrier. Even the GS4 this year only supports a 5 MHZ FDD bandwidth. If a combined 10 MHz FDD LTE carrier was launched, the GS3, GN2, GS4, etc phones would not be able to connect to LTE. I really hope Sprint and Samsung do the right thing starting with the Galaxy Note 3 to support 5 and 10 MHz FDD bandwidths to be on par with HTC, LG, Motorola LTE phones to allow Sprint to be able to expand to a 10x10 LTE carrier in a few years if it wants to.
  8. I think sprint will need to deploy some small cells at dodger stadium to provide capacity since its on a hill. Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  9. Sprint should bring back the Premier program but that is wishful thinking. I think if Sprint would simply just copy the Tmobile JUMP program and make this new program an additional benefit of the TEP insurance of $11/month.
  10. I think you are right. Sprint signed a roaming agreement with Alltel back in 2006 and I believe the agreement was for 10 years. My guess its sometime in 2016.
  11. Based on a recent Sprint Motorola FCC filing allegely for the Moto X, it said it was going to be a single band LTE 1900 phone. The Moto X is rumored to be released in August so I doubt that it will be tri-band LTE. Based on Sprint's press release when the triband LTE hotspots mentioned that triband LTE Samsung and LG smartphones will be available later on this year so it doesn't mention anything about Motorola or HTC. I hope what Sprint said was wrong because if a HTC One MAX phablet does come out in Q4, I would expect that to be a triband LTE phone.
  12. I think as long as Sprint/Clearwire can deploy a single 20 MHz TD-LTE on the 2.5 GHz spectrum, I think its fine to keep the Wimax network up. There are still people like me that are still relying on Wimax since I am waiting patiently for a tri-band LTE phone to upgrade to. Keep in mind that Sprint has recently changed the Wimax terms to persuade customers to move to the LTE network. I see Sprint start making a push beginning Q4 of this year and a very strong push to get customers off of Wimax in 2014.
  13. I agree I do hope that Sprint makes a competing program that looks more like Jump than Edge or Next.
  14. I guess the earliest this Auction 96 will occur is January 14, 2014. This is a good thing since Sprint still has a lot of progress that needs to be made on Network Vision.
  15. Maybe Sprint should sit this one out and see how the Verizon and ATT plans work out first since they are similar to Sprint in that they are still under the 2 year contract model.
  16. After Tmobile announced the "Jump" program last week, Verizon and AT&T have quickly reacted to the Tmobile Jump program by offering its own programs to allow customers to trade in their current smartphone for a new one on an annual basis. All 3 of these programs involve tacking on an additional monthly fee to take advantage of this service. Do you guys think Sprint will come out with a program to compete with this? Verizon Edge http://www.engadget.com/2013/07/15/verizon-vz-edge-phone-upgrade-program/ ATT Next http://www.engadget.com/2013/07/16/att-next-upgrade-program/ Tmobile Jump http://www.engadget.com/2013/07/10/t-mobile-jump/
  17. Hopefully by next year all the backhaul issues will be dealt with. I feel like backhaul has got to be one of the largest bottlenecks to making more LTE progress that they should have made to catch up to ATT and its going to be even worse as Sprint really needs the huge backhaul to be able to support LTE 800 and LTE 2500 as well. I really give props to Tmobile for having the insight to upgrade their backhaul many years ago especially since they don't own backhaul unlike Verizon or ATT. Tmobile must have dealt with the same crap as Sprint does right now with delays in getting backhaul from vendors or even worse from ATT or Verizon.
  18. Wow in that case you guys need to upgrade to at least a 10-15 Mbps line if you are going to share amongst 3 people. I can't stream Netflix and play a computer game without getting huge lag. I know what you mean.
  19. I dont think dish owns any BRS spectrum. There was a collaboration test between dish and ntelos a month ago to test td-lte for fixed broadband. I think it wad just a test for proof of concept of how they could deploy it at 2.5 ghz so dish had permission to use the 2.5 ghz spectrum for the test. 20. What kind if internet speed do u have that it buffers so much? I just have 3 mbps basic broadband cable internet and can watch youtube just fine mind u that most if the time i have to watch it in 480p. Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  21. The BRS and PCS licenses are interesting.
  22. Yes..notice the keyword "by". This means at or before the end of the year and i am predicting the latter. The big question before was whether sprint had the chipsets available to support the 2.5 ghz and 800 mhz. The evidence of the triband LTE hotspots launching this week shows they have the hardware ready. I see no reason for sprint to not begin launching triband LTE phones in Q4 this year. I think the last single band 1900 mhz phone would be the iPhone 5s or moto x (since its rumored to launch in august). Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  23. The lg optimus g and galaxy note series are considered flagship phones and they will very likely be the first triband LTE phones given that triband LTE hotspot devices are launching this friday. Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  24. I did not know that Tmobile was still sticking with RRUs for their "Network Vision" project for LTE/PCS HSPA+ deployment. I just would have assumed Tmobile was moving towards all Ericsson AIR antennas for all of its cell sites because of the simplicity benefits of the BTS ans power savings.
