  1. Do you really think the rollout will be quick? I think the only way that happens is if Sprint and CL are holding off on all the towers that backhaul in place and decide to go and integrate them once they are ready. I worry that CL may only have a couple sites with fiber done and that when those sites are turned on it will be a long time before more fiber is completed.

  2. I am honestly a little disappointed that we haven't gotten a single LTE site in the ABQ metro by December 1st.  I was really hopeful, now I am beginning to wonder if one will even happen before the new year.  It's amazing that nearly every site I see around town is hardware upgraded.  I guess CenturyLink is really dragging their feet bad.  I really hope there were terms in the contract that punish them for going so slow.

  3. Hey guys.  I think I'm going to sell my note 2 and get this bad boy.  Does anyone that migrated from the note to the N5 have any comments on anything you missed on the note?  I know the screen is slightly smaller, but think it won't be a huge issue for me.

  4. No problems. Just keep in mind you cannot have the default 200x PRL that Sprint forces us to use, you need to use the PRL write enabler to update to a different PRL.

I am aware. If you look back a few posts I started I was on prl 503.

  5. No 800smr here, I am in an Ericsson market.

Noticed the MCC-MNC is cut off in the engineering screen like the S4 is. The readable lat long is a neat addition although it doesn't apply to Ericsson markets.

I'm in an area I don't go to that often so I can't speak on the signal change.

I'm Ericsson too, but like I said, my site was broadcasting smr last I checked a couple weeks ago and nothing today.

  6. It appears I can no longer connect to smr on my tower. They must have turned it off. I flashed the new modem then flashed prl 503. Got no smr signal, I'm about a quarter mile from the tower that was broadcasting smr three weeks ago before I went back to stock prl. I thought maybe it was the new modem blocking smr so I went back mc2 and still no smr. Guess I'm going to have to let you guys see if this modem fixes the smr issues.

  8. I thought of one other possibility. We had a tower in abq get accepted lte, but apparently the backhaul wasn't performing well and that was what led to the requirement of fiber to every tower (there are exceptions). Maybe the backhaul was hooked up, even they tested it they didn't like how it was performing, they turned lte off and now the new backhaul has been brought to the site.

  9. ive been noticing the orange fiber pylons being put up near some of the nv towers in cruces.  this includes the one on the east side that was already accepted so not sure if that will get fiber also or if some of the other providers are getting an upgrade since sprint isnt the sole provider on any tower.

I have a theory about that site haha.  Totally just throwing this out there, not data to back it up.  Maybe the guys hooked up the sprint panels to someone else's backhaul when they weren't supposed to and realized the mistake and had to unhook, hence no more lte.  And now they have the proper backhaul (actually for sprint), and that's why you see the orange pylon at that site?  Conspiracy theory?

  10. I have never had a problem on 1x800 with my Note 2. I have never updated the firmware on it since I got it. It still has the October 31, 2012 L900VPALJC. Could this be why I don't have a problem? Just curious, as I am currently using the 512 PRL.

    what market are you in?

  11. Yep, I quickly looked around the app for an option to get rid of the all white background, sent an SMS, got one back, turned it off and signed out. I would use the app if it wasn't so dang ugly.

hmmm I wonder what's causing me to not see the sms options, they are no where to be found for me.

usually if a site has been updated you will get a ping of less than one hundred even on 3g, so it looks like no go yet on this site.
