I agree with gnoj, manning is not the one who leaked nsa data. He released state dept files among other things to Julius Assange's WikiLeaks. The man who let the whole world know that that the NSA spy's on us and has ignored our amendments for the past 5 years. I can't believe it and I'm speechless.

I've been using cm 10.1 nightlies and love it. I go all day on battery and I'm a pretty heavy user. I'll probably hop on cm 10.2 once they resolve graphics issues.

it should be fairly soon. Tower upgrades have taken place all over the city and are continuing. We are now just waiting on the backhaul (high speed internet) to be brought to and connected to the sites. I'm trying to be optimistic and am hoping to see the first sites within a month.Does anyone have an estimate on when the albuquerque metro area will start seeing LTE

Just curious, if fiber is in place, is scaling to a gig really expensive? I don't understand why they wouldn't just go all out. I know there is some differences in the equipment, but I always thought the main cost was the fiber line itself.

Just fyi,, cm 10.1 aka Android 4.3 is now available over at xda. Word is a substantial improvement in battery life and only big issue to overcome is Bluetooth at this point with the test build.

guilty as charged, ever since the tmobile g1 days. It allows me to have something new to tinker with without having to throw down the benjaminsSome of you are so prone to flashing that you might have to register as sex offenders.

ouch! They need to make a note 3 active!Smash!!! I was riding with my brother. He has a Chevy Trailblazer. I have nowhere to stick my phone when I ride in his truck, so I have this awful habit of sliding it under my leg. Then slide it out when it chimes to check it out and put it back. It's worked well for me, until Thursday night.
I was getting out of his truck at Cowgirl BBQ in Santa Fe and forgot to pick it up. I jumped out of the seat and the Note goes flying across the parking lot. Cracked screen! YEEEARGH! $200 deductible and a $20 Saturday delivery charge and a voila, a new Note 2.

I may have missed this somewhere, what happened to your original note 2?I was able to root my phone and install digiROM on my replacement Note 2 in less than 15 minutes. I already had all the files on my SD card. New record.Robert via Nexus 7 HD using Tapatalk 4

those are only issues if you go the aosp based rom route. There are plenty of other tw based roms that do not restrict those things. Plus CM will fix lte, it's only a matter of time. You can also have a backup of stock tw, flash it, flash your desired prl, then reflash aosp and you are good to go as far as prls go.Because, for example, the CM RILs for the Note II have been unable to properly authenticate with 4G LTE for some time.
Not only that, you lose access to the phone's engineering screens, as well as things like (on the Note II) the ability to write any PRL you want.
Custom roms are fun, but there are tradeoffs.

I see it being awesome for travelers. Plug it in the hotel tv and Netflix is ready to go, assuming there is Wi-Fi.

My question is when? Specifically for ABQ/SF.
Hi, I'm pretty new to the forums, so sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere, although I tried to skim this whole thread.
I've got unlimited data and an iphone 5, but am apprehensive about staying with Sprint for a few reasons: 1) my download rates are at .2 mbps right now all over ABQ (even after the profile updates) 2) 4G seems like it's never coming and has been promised for so very long, and 3) I'm moving to Santa Fe in September and I feel like 4g or even just better 3g isn't more likely there than in Albuquerque.
Do you have any info or any threads I can go to in order to be more informed or figure out why my data doesn't work? Or any info on when some of this stuff will be coming online? I know you're scouting new equipment being installed all over NM, but I'm frustrated at the wait nonetheless. Thanks, all.
Here is the link to find out information on becoming a sponsor.

Welcome. I would recommend becoming a sponsor and you would have access to a lot of exiting information. I can give you a little hint of it. First, Network Vision is being deployed all across the state of New Mexico right now. There are several sites accepted in both Abq and SF for 3g. What this means is that, in general (not all cases, search gmo for more info), sites across the two cities have received brand new cabinets, panels/antennas, rrus. Once the fiber optic lines are brought to these sites they should start broadcasting LTE very quickly, not months, but days or weeks. There have been a couple issues with getting fiber to some of the sites, but that is getting worked out right now. I wouldn't be surprised to see wide spread lte (especially in the metro's) around Abq and SF by the end of year. It is also likely that smr voice, which will in most cases increase voice and texting signal substantially. Meaning that if you have 1 bar in your house now, with smr you have see that pop up to 3 bars (results will vary). Like I said initially, if you become a sponsor you can have access to which sites are already built out and tons of more useful information! Hope that answers your questions.

it will get it. Almost every tower in the country will get lte. In fact, they are already updating the Clovis area.does anyone know if clovis, new mexico will get 4g lte?

It could be your device, but I kind of agree, I would almost think that the support you received was defective. New device, they probably don't have proper training yet.

everything I have seen indicates the moto x is not supposed to be a top of the line phone! It is supposed to hit the nexus 4 demographic. I really think they are going to come out with a fantastic unsubsidized price on this phone. If they can make it cheap and have the still very good specs that have been leaked it so definitely be a winner.Well even then the Moto X doesn't seem to be a high end smartphone with high end specs so that is another failure on Motorola's part. Again I don't care if Google is taking over, the fact is that Motorola has a tainted reputation and Google is going to have to prove to the public that they can get software updates in a timely matter. So all I can say is time will tell. There is a reason why the majority of the smartphones sold out there are either Samsung or HTC. I rarely see Motorola smartphones floating around nowadays and I see why because the software support is just not there.
The least Motorola could have done with the Photon was release the ICS source code that they were working on so that devs can take over and build on it.

didn't T-Mobile have a g2? Haha. I had the g1 back in the day.I guess the official name of the successor of the LG Optimus G phone series will be known as the G2 phone where LG is adopting the "G" name for its series. Can't wait until August 7th to hear more details on the phone. Hopefully its a nice flagship phone to get and will make it to Sprint.

just another way to gouge the customer. This time most customers will think they are getting a "deal".These plans from AT&T and Verizon make no sense! They have their monthly prices with the phone subsidy already baked in. Offering these programs without lowering their plans just makes no sense.
T-Mobile is the only sensible one since they have separated the phone component from the rate plan...

I don't think the feds would approve it anyway. Sprint is viewed as a legitimate #3 now because of their spectrum position. T-Mobile would be two problems.
First being regulatory approval.
Second would be that it's basically another Nextel. Nobody needs that. Not Sprint and not T-Mobile.
areed! Not to mention they are currently overlaying lte in some of the same markets. It would just be a mess to bring the networks together.

Watch Sprint go after T-Mobile.
I doubt that would happen, but would definitely "shake up" the mobile market.
