The few that I looked at didn't have a porting eligibility page. It might be possible, but no way to very without ordering is what a couple of them said.
Maybe Verizon Prepaid, this thread may help?
-
Hrm, that's a thought...yeah.. google doesn't support it..
my guess is that I would need to port it back to verizon and then see where I could port it too...
Verizon says it would take 10 days to port..I guess I would activate it on a verizon handset.. pay what ever fees it would take and then see if it could be ported out.. $36 activation fee.. service for how many days??? Porbably $100 for a stupid number.
not sure if it's worth it.
Just curious what could block porting of a number such as this.
Can you port it to a Verizon Prepaid MVNO?

I've noticed that! Kind of interesting if you ask me. I guess we will just have to wait and see.For what it is worth in the NOLA Ericsson market we haven't seen a whiff of 800smr yet even from sites where legacy equipment has been 100% removed. Not sure when it is going to fire up. My guess is maybe in September or so.

Robert, quick question. Now that Nextel is done. Do you think we may see 800 voice light up on towers in our market even before proper backhaul arrives? I'm thinking that there should be no reason that we wouldn't, if new equipment has been installed.

nothing immediately. Network vision 1.0 I.e. 1900 lte 800 voice, etc, has already been planned and will most likely not be affected at all by the mergers. It could, however, affect long term in ways we don't know yet. What does the Softbank/Clearwire acquire mean for the Denver Market?

Digi will you include the patch for the recent hole found in Android? Or does your rom already have it sealed?

I have a feeling they were digging new trenches for fiber in New Mexico, since century link tried using copper back haul that didn't meet Sprint specs. Robert talked about this in the New Mexico market forum, almost all the backhaul had to be out back out to bid with for pure fiber installs. If fiber existed at these sites before, why would they have tried to hook up backhaul to anything other than fiber?

Am I the only one that thinks this news leaking today is a horrible coincidence for Sprint in light of T-Mobile's press conference today. I feel that public perception could be more negative towards Sprint for an uninformed potential costumer that sees the Sprint news and the T-Mobile news. It's a shame.

they've been overlaying their hspa+ network. More capacity is great, but the added lte will really just be more of a good thing in certain areas and will not address their underlying issue, they have unusable data outside of major metros. Edge speed is unacceptable in 2013.Tmo is just adding LTE panels to their existing high speed/high backhauled HSPA+ network. If they couldn't do plug and play quickly, that would be a problem. Now let's see how fast Tmo can add LTE to its virgin EDGE network with no backhaul. That would be an apples to apples comparison to Sprint Network Vision. I bet it takes Tmo longer to do that for their 15,000 EDGE/GPRS sites than Sprint did will with their 38,000. In fact, they already lost. The clock started ticking on those sites back in 2011.

Does anyone else think that the unlimited guarantee is foreshadowing of data caps in the future, or just covering their bases for way down the line?

I wanted to know because where i live i some times see four bars, and then my signal drops down to one bar.
That could be a sign of tower work occurring. I also have been experiencing higher than average signal drops/fluctuations. It should be resolved in the coming months.

When Is sprint expected to launch Albuquerque?
It's probably going to be a little while. There is work occurring in the city and new equipment is being installed. Unfortunately, there has been news of some major backhaul (upgraded internet to the sites) delays. Hopefully once the backhaul delays are solved LTE will start lighting up very quickly in ABQ.

unfortunately you and I both know it extends outside of santa feI have some of the worse clients from New Mexico. They are idiots and barely know basic math!
Uhhhh...did you need to insult all of us? I was happy just insulting Santa Feans.

Robert already answered, but you didn't specify which part of the market, El Paso, lc, abq...Migrated from Original Forum. Originally Posted 15 January 2011

Where? Are any of the LTE sites online now and how many sites have been built/ready to be online?

Well then... so if the local tower has both frequencies of CDMA Voice, which one will my phone use??? I only ask this because in my office in Charlotte, I sometimes get a Sprint voice signal ( don't need to worry about data since I use my office WI-FI) but I often revert to a very strong roaming signal... How do you know what kind of signal you are getting??
download signalcheck pro from the play store, it was developed by someone from these forums and will tell you if you are connected to CDMA 800 or 1900
-
I have a Galaxy S3... So it will hunt down 1900 first then look for 800??? or does it look for best signal either way??? I let my phone update itself regularly... And where has Sprint put some of those new 800 CDMA's refarmed from IDEN??? I presume in mostly smaller cities to enhance more limited coverage....
The PRL question, network priority, would best be answered by someone else, maybe digi. All NV sites will receive CDMA 800 except those too close to the Mexican or Canadien border due to international agreements. So the answer to your question is that all sprint towers will have CDMA 800 regardless of city, town, etc.
-
I was wondering about CDMA 800 Voice... Will our phones automatically use that frequency or do we have to configure something??? I know that in roaming mode, it can use the 800..
You won't necessarily have to configure anything. Depending on the phone you have, which affects your PRL (i.e. iphone, android), your phone will connect to CDMA 800 according to varying priorities automatically.

1xRTT is a 3G technology. Speed does not make or break a technology. If I take a cable modem and set the internal traffic caps to that of dial up speeds, it all of a sudden does not mean it is no longer broadband technology running behind it.
I think the point the OP is trying to make is that why does sprint deceive and put the 3g icon on phones when we are in reality connected to 1x, yet on their website says 3g speeds will be at least 500 kbps, even though, IIRC 1x cannot do those speeds the way that sprint has it deployed. And I do understand that 3g speeds are not guaranteed at 500 kbps, but it seems to be a bait and switch, Sprint calls "1x" 3g on the phone icon, but does not include it in their 3g advertisement for their website.

I don't really think there is anyway we can know for sure at this point. I would imagine they will have to do something to distinguish 800 lte coverage at least, since at initial launch most devices on the market will not operate within the expanded lte coverage 800 will offer. Will Sprint release a coverage map of Clearwire 2500 LTE and LTE 800 when they release these triband devices? Really want to see if my local clearwire site has been upgraded to LTE.

I second that! Make a piece of paper that is a certificate saying like you win or something haha, then say the prize will be given over email to avoid having to ship anything.Check ebid.com

I considered it. However, I figured many of our members may not want to open a new account just to bid on this item. I want to encourage bidding and was afraid ebid may discourage members from openly bidding.

Then digiblur's idea is the best option

show them sensorly, although it might just be best to ignore it and not waste your time on them.
I did this to an employee the other day in the downtown store at 16 and tremont. He stated that no LTE work had begun in the state yet, so I pulled my phone out and showed him a screenshot of my speed tests and said, "so how do you explain this then?" He stared at it for almost a full minute and then says "must have been out of state."well that's funny, ask them why when you drive towards the airport you get an lte signal haha.

I laughed about it for quite a while, Sprint seems to keep a lot of their people very much in the dark on this.

well that's funny, ask them why when you drive towards the airport you get an lte signal haha.I just called employee care and they stated that there is no roll-out of lte in Denver. I guess you can get credit on your account like 25 x 4 when you have issues with service due to lte rollout.

Dude, chill! I thought you had finally learned patience because you hadn't posted this kind of post for a while. Seriously, caps and always asking about updates does nothing. You are a sponsor, check the updates, that is all.
