I was able to succesfully place a call while connected to 1x800 today in Albuquerque on the Big I site. I verified using signalcheck that I was still connected to 1x800 while the call was connected.

No it won't. Changing the prl on the note 2 is very easy. Go to the sponsor forums and look for digiblurs prls and links to different tutorials to install them for different phones.I seen an app in the play store called plr helper. But im not sure if it will work on note 2.

Like I said, I'm not entirely sure how, but the source is solid. Several years away minimum, but the goal is to have all the other carriers chasing them into 5g and the network is built for that. Everyone else is running their LTE on retrofitted networks while NV is built to withstand the 5G and beyond systems. I realize this is mostly on the switch side, but it is the backbone of where everything is going.
Are you thinking of carrier aggregation using LTE-Advanced?

It still might be able to use it. Many users have reported no problems using smr with the note 2, but as far as I know none have been confirmed in Ericsson markets and it has been sporadic in other markets.that really sucks, you pay up the wazoo for a phone u think is capable of all new technologies except for spark and all of us Note 2 owners cant use the technology we assumed we were buying. :-(

No, you just don't ever get it as first priority, assuming Sprint doesn't change the prl's. Right now if you have an android phone your phone will scan for regular voice and if it doesn't find it, it will then scan for smr 800 voice. If it connects to smr it will keep using that signal until you drop from that tower. If using an iPhone, it will scan for smr secondary like Android, but if it connects to smr it will only keep you on 800 until it finds a usable 1900 signal. So you will still pick up smr, but only in fringe coverage areas, which should be ok for most.
Edit: gn2 is currently exempt from these rules.

Or will it work later down the road once all goes live?

I really considered the iPhone 5 before I got the note 2. I just couldn't give up my burning desire to always tinker with my phone and make it exactly how I wanted it. Plus I was able to sell my note and cover the cost of my nexus 5.I really want to get a nexus. might be waiting for a while. I am just not a fan of iphone anymore. Good phone and selection of apps but i miss making it my phone.

The Nexus 5
It's a bit trickier than other phones to change the prl on the N5. Check the xda nexus 5 forums to really learn a lot about how to use the phone. IIRC there is a a computer program that can help with changing the prl.

Soo... now that I have an Android (new to android) I have no idea how to do this. Where can i read how to do this?
Start here http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/3059-800smr-s4gru-sponsors-prls/ . What phone did you get?

These are the days that I miss having an Android. I would put that Premier PRL and try that 800 (if active).
I've been using the regular sponsor prl which prioritizes scanning for smr. The few times I've been connected I've been unable to place a call.

They made me bring mine in but they basically just took my phone, put the sim in and let me take it home and activate it.So I tried to get my wife to pick up a sim card from the Corp. store buy her work. They told her they can not give her the card and that I have to take the phone to them to get activated. From what I have read they should have been able to give me one.
Looks like I will have to wait for the back order one to come it.

Nope, just New Mexico. I read it on the internet so it has to be true. That wouldn't really be possible because if they give up New Mexico then they would have to give up California, Arizon, and Colorado, because of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.

I heard a rumor that Sprint heard a rumor that the United States was dumping New Mexico back to Mexico. Since Sprint only provides service in country, they will no longer have a presence in New Mexico.Something fishy is happening. No acceptances in a long time.

I think it's odd that we had so many 3g acceptances in abq and now they have died off. Maybe the towers in rr aren't complete? Maybe Ericsson wants to wait on backhaul to accept lte at the same time?

Three per sector for a normal tower or four for a high use tower. How many ruu's should a fully equipped tower have?

So I picked up the Montano and Unser 1x800 signal again today and attempted to make a call. It failed to go through and after about twenty seconds it jumped to 1900 1x and went through. Dang Ericsson, get your act together.

Is it like the first picture of the thread? They drive me nuts.

x1 Cable box or modem? I just use my own docsis 3.0 modem. To be fair, the new boxes they have like the X1 are decent. That said, they still have a lot to improve on their customer services in most places.

We just went with Comcast blast internet after leaving CL. Even though I hate Comcast too, we subscribed to 50 Mbps but we have been consistently getting 70 Mbps...winning!Makes me wanna dump them for my home internet lol

Multiple T1 lines? Anyone else want to chime in on that 7x ms ping being anything but fiber? Maybe a very short run of copper to the fiber trunk line?I think you can. I have gotten as low as 76 down here in Alamogordo and we are not on fiber.

definitely fiber. I don't think sub one hundred pings are possible on anything else. This is what I just got at coors and i-40.

What is the benefit to Sprint in bundling people in large groups?
Does it save money on their end in having 7-10 people in one account?
It's about giving customers to recruit more customers. You save a little more on your bill when you bring in another customer, but not as much as Sprint is making by getting another customer.

I think it's a toss up. Like I posted before, I got fiber backhaul 3g speeds while down there last weekend meaning it might just be a waiting game until lte integration comes. Could be tomorrow could be June. For now. Anyone want to start betting whether I'll be gone by the time they turn it on?? Leaving March 10th.

N5. Sold the GN2, unfortunately. On the bright side, it basically paid for my N5.
