So after my experience at the Sprint store it got me thinking. The tech wouldn't give me a SIM without having my phone there so he could activate. He won't be able to lock my phone down, right? Do the nexus 5's sold from Sprint on contract come unlocked for gsm use?

If you're married, sign up with your wife's name as the primary after some time.not sure if they would allow that...?
Anyone have some insight on this?

Hey digi, what is your network speed icon in next to your signal values and how did you name your folders have a square platform. I'm also on nova.N5 as well here.. Using Nova Launcher, spoiled with gestures shortcuts and custom widget sizes.

Any updates in Las Cruces area? I have noticing I get 4G LTE in same parts of town but is kind of slow.
You've been getting LTE in Cruces?!? Please map on sensorly so we can have a chance to narrow down which towers it is coming from.

For me they wanted to have the phone in hand before giving me a simm, but in the end I got one after handing it over. They activated it and I walked away. When I called on thephone to Sprint World Wide they just sent one to me in the mail for free.
So I can probably order one online via chat and try my luck in a store?

I see what you did there... In all seriousness, does Sprint need to pull my account up before they will hand over a sim card?My mom is a doctor. I take it she signed a prescription for your eHERPIES.

Hey guys. Do I need anything when going to the Sprint store to get a SIM? Do I need the primary account holder, the phone with me?

Maybe they want everyone off the lte network so they can do some sort of nationwide software upgrade for lte components? I'm totally guessing here.

I posted this on the sponsor thread, but thought I put it here too. I picked up an smr signal from the tower at central and san mateo last night. I didn't try and make a call since I was driving on the highway, but hopefully more towers will start lighting up soon.

Sprint is committing suicide with this. Can you imagine the bad press that will come if this isn't promptly fixed?

You can be connecting to a different carrier on the same site or even a different site without knowing it. These two can effect speeds. Also, someone else could have just started to download something on the same site and carrier that you are connected to. Data load on the cell sure is a very dynamic process.

They are free, correct?Ironically, my sprint corporate store fed me a line and wouldnt give one up. I went to a sprint third party retailer and they were more than willing. Was told all sprint stores were sent a bunch specifically for the nexus. He had a stack of like 5-10 that had come in the week before (this was last week). Take that for what its worth though.

Is it pretty easy to get a sim at a corporate store now? Just ordered my nexus.

Unfortunately, a 3g acceptance doesn't really mean anything to me right now. If we had new backhaul then it would be excellent, but I think we might just be getting these acceptances because the inspectors decided to come to town. We already knew that almost all the sites around ABQ had hardware upgrades. Here's to hoping we get a Christmas surprise and get a few lte acceptances in the next couple weeks.

Just looked at the completed map. Seems like the inspectors sure in abq, 3g acceptances starting to pop up.

I'm not sure I've ever heard exactly why they are not on schedule with it. Is it a hardware issue?Ericsson markets are still lacking 1x800 in many areas. Some of them were rolled back.

My parents are already about to jump ship from Sprint, I've been telling them it's almost here for about six months now.So who wants to take a guess on when we'll start seeing LTE? I'm going to say around March.

don't talk to us New Mexicans about backhaul upgrades! I would rather a new panel go up, takes a tenth the time then stupid CenturyLink.for now...Sprint has a lot of spectrum in places that's live, only scaled down by back haul. Theoretical speeds are about 60mbps down and up to 20mbps up. Of course, when Sprint needs to up the speed all it is is a back haul upgrade.
