When they added the Cottleville accepted site to the sponsors map for some reason they removed the inprogress one I reported. Fear not Cottleville will soon have 2 accepted sites and the purple plague in St Charles county will continue.

COUNTDOWN!!! Nextel iDEN Shutdown

I wonder if there will be a blip downward in the rollout as people are reassigned to yank the guts out of IDEN. -
Anyone want to offer a educated guess what percent of Sprint phones with a current sub can use LTE when its available locally? I'm wondering how much traffic it will off load from the EVDO network. LTE should even help data speeds on it if enough phones move off it to LTE.

Kind of like some ham radio types do when they put up a new antenna, They leave the end of the coax coiled up outside for a month or so and when they get the complaints about TVI or whatever they show its not hooked up.

What's that near? Is it Buchheit Supply on/near Weiss Rd and Burnington Dr? I never noticed that one but can run by there after work if you don't want to make a trip.

COUNTDOWN!!! Nextel iDEN Shutdown

I remember reading somewhere Robert's reply about how fast he guesses CDMA 800 sites will start coming online after the shutdown of the IDEN network. It took awhile to find,if your interested http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/2358-everything-800mhz-1xa-lte-coverage-timeline-etc/page-28&do=findComment&comment=148396 Posted 03 June 2013 - 03:05 PM SpenceSouth, on 03 Jun 2013 - 3:00 PM, said: Are we expecting a big light up or a gradual increase in pace once the countdown hits zero? I have no inside info on this. I'm guessing it will not be an immediate overnight light up of 1000's of sites. But I would guess a pretty rapid succession of CDMA 800 acceptances for the 90-120 day period after June 30th. And I would expect new sites would start being deployed with 3G and 800 together from the get go. Maybe even CDMA 800 and LTE 1900 together, as the 800 is more like the LTE in the fact it does not need to be brought online in clusters. Eventually getting to LTE 800/1900 and CDMA 800 being deployed all together at new sites. Robert -
Here is the picture I took after work of the site between Westwood Dr and 94 near the intersection of Westwood Dr & Motherhead Rd. in Cottleville. I posted it to the inprogress thread too so it can be showed in progress.

I got a good picture of the rru's and the 2 guys installing them up top if the tower in Cottleville on 94. I will post after work. I may take anither after work shiwing the panel better if I can do it without being a traffic hazard. The panel is blocked by the guy s and tower structure. Do I remember correctly that some time ago the someone (Sprint and or Dish) asked the FCC to more or less bundle in consideration of Clearwire going to Sprint in the ruling on Sprint and Softbank. If they did does that mean we only have to wait on one FCC decision and not another one after the Clearwire vote?

Thanks for showing restraint.
