So I just filed an asurion claim for my nexus 5, paid $99 deductible, and they told me with no nexus 5 in stock I get a note 3, seems like a decent exchange.
I wouldn't be able to live without Band 41.
I would be pissed.Cant they give you a triband Phone???

No. The only form of payment accepted for any Easy Pay transaction is a major credit card. What if you don't need to put any money down? Can you use the cards to pay the balance down and then finance the remaining balance?
Only customers getting the Note 4 on a 2 year contract can use the gift cards.

You can not use a Best Buy gift card on any part of an Easy Pay transaction. You would have to use your own money to pay the entire $250. There is something in Sprint's system that only allows payment to them for Easy Pay transactions. When you make the down payment it actually goes through as a bill payment to your account. This is unique to Sprint. This is not an issue with AT&T or Verizon. Now my question is, what about the $200 trade in credit? Can that still be taken off? So I'd only have to put $50 down plus tax at time of pickup? The only bummer is the throw away $50 gift card? Or would it still have to be $250 down?

Correct, Easy Pay payments (including tax due at activation) are processed on Sprint's behalf by Best Buy. Best Buy gift cards can not be used for those transactions, only a major credit card.Just FYI For those of you wanting to do the Best Buy deal. I found out tonight that if you are required to put any money down for easy pay (If you're in the mid credit category). You cannot use the $50 gift card towards the down payment of the phone (The $50 pre-order down payment). So If you are required to put $250 down on Easy Pay, The $50 pre-order cannot go towards it, nor can the credit apparently. But i'm still skeptical. I visited both the Best Buy Mobile in the mall and the store tonight and they wouldn't do it. So in essence, You basically have to pay $250 plus tax at the time of pickup and you can use the $50 gift card towards accessories at Best Buy. The reason being is because the $250 down payment goes right to Sprint, not to Best Buy (Through Easy Pay).

AT&T and Verizon don't make counter moves and give away the farm for no reason. It's because there is a clear and present danger.
That's they key right there. If Sprint's current promotion wasn't working the others would not have wasted time reacting.

Looking forward to all the blog comments about useless Sprint data speeds making it impossible to use the new data amounts.

I am most impressed with the quick responses the new Sprint is having to the competition. T-Mobile trade in promotion, the AT&T data doubling. Keep it up!And now Sprint is doubling AT&T's double data plan promotion...
At this rate, Family Share Pack plans will offer far more data than the average unlimited user uses. Whoa.

So today I went to Best Buy to get a new htc One m8 for my wife. I have the Framily plan and I was really bummed out that they did not let me upgrade my wife's phone because they said they don't upgrade on framily plans anymore. I think that is really mest up for sprint to advertise the Framily to hell and then not let people upgrade on it. I know you can still do it at the sprint store. But I was really hoping to get my $50 dollars gift from best buy for upgrading.
Unfortunately the rep you spoke with was uninformed. Best Buy can process Easy Pay activations for Framily. It will force a plan change at activation, but they just have to call NSS after the transaction to get added back to the Framily. It is a big 5 minute phone call.I guess I was not that clear. I am sorry. I was actually using the easy pay for the phone and the lady said I can still get the 50 dollar gift card with easy pay. So she got the phone and started signing us up and when she got to adding the phone to framily she said they could not do that anymore because the system does not let them. She said I would have to switch plans to get a new phone.

No, your device should connect automatically if it is capable and there is band 41 available. Is there anything specific that needs to be change on the account side of my service, to allow me to connect to B41? I have the iPhone 6 and have yet to touch any B41. I'm in the Jacksonville market.

Wow, did not see that coming.

The information does not explicitly state that it can't be. It should work like every other trade in promotion. The point of the trade in promotion is to lower the out of pocket expense for the customer to encourage them to spend the money here instead of elsewhere. Every single trade in promotion I have ever processed has been able to use it to purchase the new phone. I have seen nothing that states this is any different. That def makes more sense. I'm on my way to pick up an old lumina from a person on craigslist and then head to that best buy.
Were you able to confirm if the gift card can be used towards the purchase of the phone?

Just left a best buy and I was told that I get the $200 gift card at time of preorder with any working smartphone trade in. My old evo 4g had some dead pixels so they wouldn't accept that but the gift card timing is different than what I've been reading so passing it along for whatever it's worth.
I'm going to try and find a phone on craigslist for cheap and come back and do the preoder and see what happens with the gift card.
You get the card at the time of pre-order? Wow. I thought it would be at the time of purchase. What happens if someone cancels his/her pre-order? Are they going to ask for the card back?
The gift card is not issued until the time of trade-in after the activation of the Note 4.Yeah I'm not sure that's part of why I don't know how true it is. Since there's a $50 pre order fee that's put towards the phone when you pick up maybe a CC is required to reserve it so they could charge your card the difference if you don't pick up?

Every Nexus so far has been a one year device. I would guess that Google only had a certain amount made.Ummm, unless its replacement is imminent. We don't have the N4 to compare to, because Sprint never sold it. However, it was about this time last year when Google started yanking the N4 for sale itself, if memory serves.

EOL only means it is no longer for sale. It does not stop working, stop being covered by insurance, stop being covered by manufacturers warranty. All phones stop being sold at some point. This really is a non story. So what if I bought a nexus 5 through Sprint already? Will they not give be any support if something goes wrong with it?

You can also do it over the phone. When you call to get your account balance it lists device payments separately. You can then opt to pay for the device.Speaking of plans and what not, in regards to Easy Pay, how does one go about paying off the balance?
Lets say I pay my monthly bill today. But i still have about $250 on the Easy pay installment. If I wanted to pay off that $250, how do I go about doing it. I don't see a way to do it via the Sprint website. The Easy Pay FAQ doesn't mention it, so it seems the only way is to go into a Sprint store and have the rep do it.
Has anyone payed off their Easy Pay installments yet?

I am wondering if it will be a lower cost device destined for the prepay channels.

Correct. It has to be brick and mortar retailer though, doesn't it? I know BB price matches some online stores, but contract mobile devices are an exception to that according to bestbuy.com.

Via Sprint's websiteRocket, any idea on when they will stop offering it. I am in a full framily right now but debating jumping on this for piece of mind.
