  1. I had an awesome experience in Indy with LTE. Once that's scaled out nation-wide, look out!

Indy is beautiful for LTE. No other place has fulfilled me connectively as there. I will do a job transfer from North Carolina to Indianapolis in 2 weeks! :)

I am pretty happy with living in the Indy area. I can still find some less than stellar parts around town, but that is probably true everywhere.

  2. Yeah 14.99 a month and I believe the deductible is 150 and they don't cover lost or theft (last time I remembered)

    I'm a former BBY employee

$9.99 a month now. The $14.99 plan was discontinued in September 2013.

  3. Every since Sprint started rolling out LTE the service has been crap. I get 5-50kB/s and 3g isn't any better. I've been a sprint customer for over 12 years now and it's sad to know I can't even open a Web page in Metro Detroit.(The 13th largest city in the U.S)

    First, welcome to S4GRU.

Second, you can check market completion information here http://www.s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/212-Network-Vision/LTE-Deployment-Running-List

Detroit will see a delay in 800 LTE due to your proximity to Canada. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/2358-everything-800mhz-1xa-lte-coverage-timeline-etc/ lots of posts to read through in that one.

Also, becoming a sponsor opens up a lot of information. Utilize the search feature on the forum. It will answer lots of questions. Read, read, and then read some more.

  4. Are we sure that this is the L710T, rather than just a new box for the phone? Because the Virgin Mobile S III has the Spark branding but is the same old L710, with SVLTE and single-band LTE. Same deal with my S III (now my brother's); Android 4.4 switches the LTE indicator to Spark but you don't magically get B26 and B41 included.

It says T on the model number. My buddy's S3 did not get the spark wheel with the 4.4 update.

  5. Thanks! I made this for someone based on your info, so they could easily find the Spark GS3 on Boost. I figured I'd share here in case anyone else found it helpful. There's other minor differences in the boxes I didn't highlight.

Funny, I just took this photo to post here.

  6. Which Virgin and Boost phones are now Spark compatible? From what I can tell, it looks like the Boost Galaxy S3 is but the Virgin Galaxy S3 is not. Is there any way to view the actual model numbers of the phones before you buy from them?

Typically the model numbers are on the bottom of the box, but on the Virgin/Boost phones you can just look at the picture on the front. It is pretty hard to miss the Spark logo in the status bar.

  7. Will T-Mobile's network be ready for the influx of new Apple subscribers? Remember that they have only been offering the iPhone since April 2013. Sprint and T-Mobile might steal a bunch of iPhone customers from AT&T and Verizon this fall.

AT&T currently has 39 million iPhone subscribers, compared with 31 million at Verizon, 14 million at Sprint and 4 million at T-Mobile.

T-Mobile has a lot of unused bandwidth right now. The lower subscriber numbers paired with several markets with wideband equals lots of unused bandwidth.

  8. Yup -

    • "Live streaming video requires Safari 5.1.10 or later on OS X v10.6.8 or later; Safari on iOS 6.0 or later. Streaming via Apple TV requires second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 6.2 or later."
That is just stupid. I am not an Apple device owner but am genuinely interested in what the new phone will be like. Making it difficult for me to view the event is counter intuitive to gaining new customers.

  9. (Personally I think leaks ruin the whole adventure of waiting until they have their announcement but that's just me… When the iPhone 5 came out I wasn't even shocked about anything because I already saw it months before.)

I agree. Leaks take some of the fun out of it.

  10. So, if I read this correctly, the E8 is a plastic version of the M8, but it's the size of the M7? Does that mean M7 accessories would fit it?

It is not the same size as the M7. It is nearly identical to the M8.

    HTC One M8 146.36 x 70.6 x 9.35 mm

  11. While negotiating services being delivered to a prospective client with many locations, I was told they have roughly 10/2.5 unlimited access from Clear for $55/month. Any insight on that service and how it is likely to change with Sprint migrating over to data packages for non-handsets? They obviously can't get legacy Clear in a lot of locations and a mobile network isn't as reliable\consistent as a fixed network, which is why we're talking in the first place. If that plan was going to be cut off soon, that's ammo I could use.

I know there is a discussion related to this topic here http://www.s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/6285-Does-Sprint-have-plans-for-service-for-WiMax-home-customers-when-the-network-shuts-down?

  12. http://www.cnet.com/news/sprint-extends-4g-footprint-through-additional-roaming-deals/ more carriers to the list of nothing. Sigh. If only there was some walk to this talk.

Yeah, because having completely different networks rebuilt to allow Sprint roaming and getting handsets designed to be compatible with multiple networks across the country happens overnight. You comment is 98% troll, 1% frustration, and 1% lack of knowledge.

  13. Framily is a group plan and an individual plan. A great many people have one individual line on their account under Framily pricing and pay just $45 for unlimited.

There is no possible way to spin the loss of the $45 unlimited everything price-point on Sprint as being a good thing.

And how do you manage to get the $45 rate without a group? It is a group plan. The individual Framily rate for unlimited is $75.
