  1. What's the difference in pricing between the ZTE Peel on Sprint and Virgin?I do be believe that LTE would eventually make its way to Virgin. Also, I never saw the point of offering the Peel on Sprint. Sent from my HTC Titan using Board Express
  2. $750 Million flat? Sounds like a bargain compared to the 800MHz move.
  3. I still don't understand the 3GPP's structure of these Band Classes. When someone request a extension of a Class, the Band Class with the extension should be the same, given a revision number, and then after a period of no activity with regards to extensions, finalize it. If Sprint & Dish can get a band class that covers their spectrum along with the rest of PCS, they'll have a nice super-duper band class for them and device manufacturers to work with.
  4. I see. As for Clearwire, their LTE would only be available in "Hot Zones", where more likely than not, Sprint will run into capacity issues(outside of small cells), so this should really be a money maker for Clear.
  5. I believe it was that you'll be able to test early builds of OS updates.
  6. I assumed that this whole "World's First" was that this would load balance(pilot) devices between 800 & 1800 has needed. I understand that(Sprint) has capacity on 800MHz, but I thought that their intention is that your device would generally just be using what ever signal is usable(but higher; 2500>1900>800).
  7. I thought that 800MHz was just for propagation and deep indoor service where 1900MHz isn't available. Traffic distribution over different frequencies is a part of NV?
  8. Thought this wouldn't be something we'll see until LTE-Advanced started rolling out... http://www.theverge....ier-lte-network
  9. This was from earlier in the month. http://www.engadget....with-android-4/ I'm pretty sure this is it, thus there is finally a high-end slider on Sprint.
  10. Can you try calling Sprint and get an Advance Exchange? About a year ago when I had my EVO, the LCD inside died. Took it to my nearest repair location and they replaced the LCD/digitizer combo. The only problem now was that the digitizer had dead spots. They said there's nothing they can do since they don't have any other repair parts and they weren't willing to give me a replacement device. I called Sprint and they told me about other repair locations in the city(one that the rep knew people who work at one of the locations personally), but it was pretty far out for me. Then I remembered about the Advance Exchange program from a few years ago. At the time, you used to be able to do it online, but not anymore. Called in and asked specifically for an advance exchange, got a refurb EVO the next day.
  11. You probably just need to re-encrypt the encryption... or something like that
  12. Why does Sprint keep SIMs internal? Will it stay this way for the foreseeable future? Sent from my HTC Titan using Board Express
  13. If I remember correctly, the TDI consortium primary goals includes roaming between TD-LTE networks worldwide.Sprint 800MHz LTE doesn't align with Europe's 800MHz. It does more closely follow the 800MHz band used in southeast Asia. I know that theoretically, you should be able to put a South Korean LTE SIM in a Sprint LTE phone and it should work(at least LTE should).-Xavier Sent from my HTC Titan using Board Express
  14. I know this is a long time out, but I wonder will Virgin Mobile allow grandfathering of the plan when WiMAX is phased out and LTE(eventually) makes it way to Virgin...
  15. My prediction +140k postpaid subs(slowdown from q1) $355m loss. +1m prepaid subs
  16. Like Boosted said, it would be similar to the setup for LS'q network share agreement.
  17. It would probably be better to first start with a network-share agreement to lead up to a merger. One way it can work is that Sprint deploys LTE along with T-Mo's AWS, and T-Mobile deploys LTE along with Sprint's PCS. This will be in completely different markets so no two deploy in the same market. Since both of them are deploying multi-modal equipment, this should be very much possible. Sprint's deployment plan will be used in such a agreement, in which Sprint deploys in Round 1 & 3 markets, and T-Mobile deploys in Round 2 & 4 markets. They will continue to compete as separate entities throughout the buildout and would have seemless LTE experience while moving through different markets. After this is completed, VoLTE should be viable, thus the adoption of LTE-Only devices can start. CDMA and GSM subscribers will be moved unto LTE devices and will begin shutting down those legacy services(excluding T-Mobile's rural GPRS/EDGE only network until a later time). This would be the american equivalent of (theoretical of course )
  18. Looks interesting. My brother had the Overdrive about 2 years ago. Said overall, it worked pretty well. At this plan pricing, this is definitively more interesting that hotspot add-on(contingent on you living/work/play in WiMAX areas, of course).
  19. First graduating HS, then this... Today is a good day. Thanks Robert! -Xavier
  20. Hesse should print this and put it on his corner office wall.
  21. I would watch it. What happens if a customer recognizes him?
  22. As anti-competitive as it is, it's not surprising that CableCo's are more in favor of doing any business with VZ than anyone else. Having Sprint as a WiFi offload customer doesn't affect the deal and only offers more revenue. Nevertheless, Sprint isn't in a friend in the eyes of CableCo anymore. Sprint opposing the SpectrumCo deal(that Sprint used to be part of), the VoIP lawsuits, the outcome of Clearwire isn't helping them...
  23. $0.75 in about a month. Maybe it'll hit $4 before the Q2 results. Depending on how good it is(and reactions), maybe getting back to last summers' S highs are possible.
