Let's do a poll(if a mod will be so kind to add one). Are you for the deal or against? Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

But look at that mascot (see signature). I do think it might confuse some at first, but the brand consistency is worth it. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

May be possible that SoftBank will go over the rumored 75% share, maybe somewhere close to 80-85%. I don't see much benefit in them acquiring S/N completely. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

MetroPCS LTE phones supports most of the PCS Block... LTE is imminent. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

I too believe that if this happens, SoftBank will do anything and everything in it's power to hit the big two anyway they can. I read up on White Plan some time back, and I believe that this buyout(75%) will only positively benefit the U.S. cellular marketplace. Now the question is how long until they also go after NewCo... I personally have no qualms about this sale, but all this talking can make this a more expensive deal for SoftBank(either pay more to get 75% or get a smaller cut). I (tentatively) welcome our new Japanese overlords Also....I get to use this awesome sig

True, but this isn't anything obscure or very "Japan-centric". You should see S. Korea's wireless ads.

I actually think that they'll give the SoftBank name a go here. I believe in Otosan(SoftBank's mascot).

Supposedly SoftBank was trying to do this since this summer. It was originally planned to be a merge of DT's T-Mobile USA and Sprint, then SoftBank would've had a majority stake in the combined entity, in which DT would have an minority(in which they could sell as wanted). DT bailed due to Anti-trust concerns. http://video.cnbc.com/gallery/?video=3000121813

Japanese carrier attempts to buy 75% of Sprint. LTE must me coming.... 1-seg TV too...

I was just thinking that since VZW and AT&T have both received large foreign investment in the past, if for whatever reason they would try to this(maybe indirectly if in a case that SoftBank also acquired Clearwire, they might be blocked from future spectrum auctions). Sprint's Tarazi: Network Vision 2.0 is our HetNet strategy
xcharles718 replied to supert0nes's topic in General Topics
Didn't know ATNI had ownership in GT&T. Now if they would finally finish the damn fiber upgrades and bring 3G to Guyana Staying close to topic, the general vibe is that Sprint is just not interested in rural deployment at this time(outside of that 800 LTE site in Montana). So I don't see an acquisition in the cards. Sent from my TITAN X310e using Board Express -

Not saying that Sprint shouldn't at least give it a shot. How much ground does USCC Cellular licenses cover anyway
