  1. Going to have to give this a try. Be sure to post if you see any negative effects from this baseband.

OK guys be careful with this radio. It doesn't seem to disconnect from sites that aren't ecsfb ready. You could have LTE but unable to fall back for a call
  2. Really I didn't know texts are delayed over 1x!wow!

Nexus 5 reception is incredible, my gs3 could barely see lte at my place and this phone it's usable

it's not every text that gets delayed. It's just some and I can't figure out why sprint can't get that together.

  3. So is it better to use 17 and hold lte signal of - 112 or use 23 which sits on the 3g only tower right next to me? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

I guess it would be you personal preference. -112dbm isn't that bad. I'd rather be on that than 3g since texts often are delayed over 1x but come in on time on LTE. That's just me though

  4. I disagree. Of course it helps their coverage. It changes roaming coverage to native coverage. That helps! When you have native coverage you're more in control of the quality of your subscribers' wireless experience. Moreover, roaming roaming had always technically been limited, but it's gotten even more restrictive with the MyWay and Framily plans with only 100 Mb of data roaming allowed. That roaming also is usually only going to be at 1x. Going from a 10 Mbps LTE connection to 100 kbps roaming can be inconvenient to people. Buying the smaller carriers also gives a subscriber boost and the reach to potentially acquire more subscribers. Buying the smaller carriers also should give them a swath of 700A spectrum that they could use to bargain with T-Mobile for cash to offset the purchases and/or PCS spectrum.

Verizon and AT&T also could've gone the roaming route in the majority of the lesser populated parts of the country, but instead chose to make strategic acquisitions to offer the broad coverage maps. A lot of people desire (perhaps irrationally)that kind of coverage despite the fact that most of those people will never even use it in a lot of those off the beaten path places. Select acquisitions to help Sprint broaden their native coverage map could also help them shed the poor, highway only coverage stigma.

Well said! Im more in favor of sprint buying some regionals and expanding their native footprint with their new 800mhz holdings than purchasing T-Mobile.

  5. She did have the Apple 5s but she might get the g2. I been trying to sell her on Sprint so I think it's working. Of subject really quick. I'm in Denver and the past few days my 3g goes away and lte shows up on debug mode but not strong signal to show in status bar. Also it's been connecting on its own the past couple days. Doesn't stay on long. Does this mean they are testing or getting close to turning lte on? Thanks

Next time check to see what band is. It could be that your phone is simply searching for lte and that's why u see it in debug but not in the status bar or you could be connecting to band 41 but there could be an eCSFB issue so it kicks you off.
