they should be done testing. This site has been on for months. This site is always problematic. On and off again LTE is kind of common while they are testing.
-
iirc the Sim card for now is only used for LTE authentication. Your number should be tied to the device and not the sim cardSo, can I just swap my SIM & his SIM? Will my # then be on his phone & his on mine? I assume so, but have not used SIM cards much as Sprint phones normally don't have them & I have always been with Sprint.
-
maybe an issue with his sim card? Try taking it out and putting it back in. Only thing I can think of. Or swap sims and see what happensOk, I called Sprint & talked to a Tech. Advised I had tried updating PRL, Profile, etc., changed the LTE Mode from Global to LTE/CDMA & Back. Both of us in the same location. I get LTE, he doesn't. Also his phone will loose everything (Data, Cell reception, etc) and it will say "Cannot establish a wireless connection". His phone does this frequently, reconnects to 3g, but never 4G. He said there have been other reports of similar issues. Took it back to Best Buy & did a swap to a totally new phone.. but it still does the same thing. I'll contact Sprint again tomorrow, but how can we have got 2 bad phones? & How can it be the network if my phone works fine, but his doesn't?
Any suggestions?

I guess I spoke too soon. It was fine this morning but now I'm stuck on 3g

Were you able to hold on to the connection pretty well when moving around or going in to buildings? I would be curious to see if the Nexus 5 is also an RF beast with Band 41 like it is with 25.
Didn't get a chance to test that... Sorry
-
Did you do anything special to get it to connect to Band-41? I have it enabled on mine but don't seem to be having much luck.
Just made my band priorities 26 41 25 in that order. Went to airplane mode then came out and band 41 showed up.

I got up the 12 on the upload

I still don't understand why the inconsistent B41, if it is indeed something remote that has to be activated on the Device, why would it connect to any site at all. I am completely surrounded by Band 41, and at one point went to a verified place, (where I know the HTC One Max connects without issue) and no dice..stuck on 25.
Band priority? eCSFB issue maybe. Try setting it in LTE only, if you connect to band 41 then it could be eCSFB issues with clearwire
-
honestly I was just playing around with the settings in the phone info screen and hit lte only. I knew the site it was on didn't have Sprint cdma and I saw all my bars and knew it was band 41. Im guessing it suffers from the eCSFB issue since I drove by it earlier and saw nothing but when it was set to lte only I connected.Did you have any difficulties getting it to connect to band-41? I was parked under a band-41 site and couldn't get any cooperation lol.

Happy to report that after talking to sprint my local tower has had the eCSFB issue fixed. Connected to LTE at -95dbm on my n5 where I was get between 100-103 on my s4

I was in the car but I was able to get 20 down. Was out of range before the upload could processDid you try speedtest? I know another user here in NYC caught some B41 on his Nexus 5 but got horrible speeds (under 500k/sec)

In MD and I found some more 1x800. I'm close to the redskins stadium during the game and the tower is really overloaded and my phone went to 1x800. https://www.dropbox.com/s/r833y9i4e6iuyve/Screenshot_2013-12-01-21-33-46.png

I've experienced the same thing. Seems like the power is turned down or somethingNot possible. There are only 2 sites here and one still runs legacy panels.

I talked to a chat representativeAnd she said she would escalate it to their network team or something like thatOpen a ticket and be sure to let them know you have 4 devices. Two of yours and two of other LTE devices. That way they can't say your device is bad.
-
So it turns out that it's only my tower with the eCSFB issue. All the towers around it are fine and allow me to connect to LTE. I wonder if opening a ticket would speed things up
-
yupWell it doesn't immediately resolve your situation, but at least you know it's an issue with the network and not your device. So based on your experience in that area, SignalCheck shows LTE properly in Bowie, but not in DC? Just trying to confirm it is consistent with my observations.
Thanks,

I guess it's just my area having the issue. I went out to Bowie which is still the Dc market and I can connect to LTE

I'll be driving around today to do some testing in other areasYeah, the incumbent market piece of the eCSFB issue is about capability. Non-incumbent markets can not work with eCSFB at all without NV 3g upgrades. Incumbent markets are capable, but they still need site/core updates for it to work.

I did that and it shows up inside the app but nothing in the status bar.If you have Pro, try enabling "Show hidden data" and see what happens.. I *think* this is CSFB-issue related. The phone is not reporting an LTE connection, but it is seeing signal strength. I have seen it myself a few times, still trying to narrow down the specific situations in which it happens.
