  1. Wow! I live in 11432. I have the 4S so I dont have access to LTE but I wasnt aware that LTE was beginning to show up in this area. My local tower still hasnt received NV so during the day, 3G is useless. Speeds are terrible. 2 months ago it received a speed upgrade and speeds were good but now they are terrible again. I am hoping it receives NV soon. At home I use wi-fi so I am in no hurry for it to receive NV but it'd be nice to run speed tests to see the much better and improved speeds NV will bring once it is updated.
  2. 3G speeds have definitely gotten so much better in the Bronx. A few months back 3G was useless. It was horrible. But lately I can stream videos on youtube and browse the web. All this waiting around is finally beginning to pay off.
  3. I was in Brooklyn about 2 weeks ago and my iPhone 4S was also showing the 'o'. Im hoping that was because towers are being updated to NV but who knows for sure. Just have to be patient and hope that all this waiting around will pay off at the end. I was considering leaving Sprint last year but decided to stay. My contract ends in November and im really hoping that by then, Sprint would have completed the NYC NV updates in most parts of the market. My upgrade is in July so hopefully LTE is in most parts of the NYC market, otherwise i'll just wait till november to decide about my future with Sprint.
  4. I must say that I am surprised that NYC had 81 updates today. First time I see a number like that. I guess Sprint really is pushing to launch NYC soon. They still have a lot of 3G updated towers and very few 4G towers, except in the bronx but that is fine with me since I have the 4S and I cant upgrade to the iPhone 5 till July for LTE speeds but I have been having much better 3G speeds around NYC. Can't wait till my tower is updated.
  5. Thank you Robert. Merry Christmas to you and your family as well. (Sorry i'm a little late )
  6. I used to get speeds like yours but on wednesday when I came back from Europe after a 5 week vacation, I noticed faster speeds right away. Sprint must've just done some capacity upgrades and data speed upgrades in my tower because after 3 days, I am still getting the same consistent speeds.
  7. Still getting good speeds in Jamaica, Queens. I just did the following speedtest: Date: 8/10/12 Time: 6:58pm Ping: 78ms Download: 1.50mbps Upload: 0.40 mnps
  8. Wow! I just got back to NYC yesterday from Europe and I immediately was able to detect the faster 3G speeds on my iPhone 4S. I was away for 5 weeks and it was not this fast before I left. I live in Jamaica, Queens and I just did a speedtest and this is what I got: Time: 9:01am Ping: 95 ms Download: 1.33 mbps Upload: 1.12 mbps I have not seeing speeds like that in a long time and it has been consistent all day. I'm loving it. So glad I decided to stick with Sprint.
  9. I highly doubt NYC will look like that come the end of August. I'm very disappointed in the progress there. It is going way too slow. Let's see what happens in August.
  10. Looks like you'll be receiving a nice birthday present
  11. My birthday is in November.. What a great birthday present this would be to see NYC launch in November.
  12. Thanks for the update Robert! Can't wait till they kick it into high gear here in NYC. I know its such a big market to cover and very difficult to work in with all the towers being located in apartment buildings. Sometimes the landlord is not present and the workers can't access the towers. October - November can't get here fast enough.. -- David
  13. I was speaking with my friend over the phone yesterday who lives in brooklyn and he says he has been getting a lot of dropped calls in his area. He says at his house he's been constantly getting dropped calls and yesterday while we spoke, the call dropped 3 times! In less than two minutes. He's not into all this network vision stuff like I am but if this means that network vision is about to kick into high gear here in NYC, then bring on the dropped calls. I really can't wait till I see guys working in my local tower. I can see my tower from my house and I check everyday. I'll be leaving to europe soon so i'm hoping that when I get back im august, NYC will have more sites on air than right now.
  14. I am a new yorker and I am a sponsor here and I constantly leave messages in other forums but the reason I don't comment much on 4G LTE is because I have an iPhone 4S and it's only 3G so all I care about right now is improved 3G speeds that NV will bring. I am not eligible for an upgrade until July 2013 so by then I won't have to worry about searching for 4G LTE because i'm sure it'll be fully implemented in NYC and also, i'll be able to get the new iPhone with 4G LTE. I don't have any complains regarding the NYC market when it comes to signal strength. I have full service everywhere. Data speeds could be improved in certain areas. In certain areas of NYC I get up to 1.4mbps down and .90-1.00mbps up and in other areas I get .10-.25mbps down and .60mbps up. My area had get great 3G speeds but lately they've been slowing down too much. Luckily for me, I use wi-fi when i'm at home but I don't plan on leaving Sprint.
  15. Im in NYC and today I did the ##873283# And my iPhone's PRL updated from 51087 to 51089
  16. Robert told me earlier today that there were only 2 active NV sites in NYC but he shiul be getting an update soon so hopefully there are more. Maybe those calls are from the implementation of NV around your area but I don't know. I'm no expert. How are your data speeds?
  17. Thanks Robert. I hope the rollout can occur a lot faster that it is because NYC has A LOT of cell sites.
  18. I don't think this is a good idea. It's not fair that they'll be paying less and get 4G when we are paying more.
  19. No problem. Sprint executuves will definitely take you much more serious than their customer care and they are much more friendly and want to help you with your issues. I decided to stick around and not leave for AT&T because of their better data speeds around here and can't wait for Network Vision.
  20. That is awesome. I hope Sprint keeps these upgrades rolling.
