  1. That's usually how it works at every stadium/arena I've been to. Went to a game at NRG Stadium in Houston and only their corporate sponsor, Verizon, worked. At&t was fine for slow browsing, messaging and calls. Sprint was only fine for texts only (over LTE), never tried a phone call; data was not working at all on B25/26/41, EVDO, or 1x.
  2. That's pretty good for a sports venue. Is T-Mobile the sponsor for the stadium or team?
  3. I was a little confused last night checking the points system and Robert was 1st place. But they've updated this morning and now he is 6th place. I'm 4th. LSU not playing got me pretty good too.
  4. That's almost everywhere. Any clear tower or clear equipment in southeast Texas also lacks in ping times behind Sprint NV equipment. It's not very noticeable while browsing, but I'd imagine people doing VoIP over hangouts may notice some lag. Never tried it though.
  5. And AT&T just barely started to merge both Iusacell and Nextel into the At&T moniker. Coincidence? On a side note, it's too weird hearing the mexican media and locals pronounce "Ey-ti-en-ti". Their ads are obviously produced here in the U.S. by the same people who do their spanish ads since the pronunciation of 'at&t' sounds American. They should have stuck with Iusace or Nextel...or just gone with a different name.
  6. Well, can you define "abuser"? Because T-Mobile sure didn't. At what data threshold does one become an abuser? I cannot blame the users if T-Mobile was being very gray about this entire thing. First it was Unlimited, then tiered, then back to truly Unlimited, then soft cap on congested areas at 21 GB, and now....we'll, who knows. T-Mobile still hasn't fully released a specific set of standards on what defines an 'abuser', so until they do this, they have no one to blame but themselves. I've used up to 400 GB in one month over WiFi, so I can easily see some people doing the same over cellular in places with no ISPs. They wouldn't be abusers under the vague T-Mobile rules they had, especially if their towers were uncongested.
  7. That's almost what I pay for 5 lines with phone subsidies. (Which is just another example of why the death of the 2 year contract only benefits the companies and not the consumers)
  8. Go to Movistar Mexico webpage for a map. As far as I can tell, Sprint hasn't added international coverage maps to their website like T-Mobile has.
  9. Houston had also slowly expanded the number of B41 2nd carriers on both new 8t8r equipment and Clearwire equipment. I've caught my phone bouncing back and forth between both Clear B41 carriers.
  10. Have you twittled with the roaming settings? How about calling Sprint support? Data should be working if Voice is working.
  11. Anyone else getting weird fast forwarding or skips/sputters while playing audio in the first 30 seconds after connecting to Bluetooth? It initially only happened on Ford's Sync when OG1 came out, but now its happening on every Bluetooth device I connect to.
  12. Just because they are members doesn't mean they have to open up roaming to everyone. They don't have to strike deals with all the members.
  13. When I cracked my screen, I sent in my phone to Samsung for repair and Squaretrade sent me a check for the total cost of repair. I highly recommend Squaretrade.
  14. Pfffh. Mexican style sheep barbacoa >>> any domestic BBQ. El Borrego de Oro in Austin is the real deal birria. And no, Tejano/TexMex style barbacoa/birria doesn't even come close. But if we're picking American BBQ, then Texas (beef specialists) > KC (good variety) > and tie for last between Memphis and Carolina. Pork is just not a good meat (personally) unless it's fried and ribs are too messy. My personal rule is if you need to add BBQ sauce to your meats, then they're not good.
  15. Again, you fail to say how they are actually similar. Culturally, you're comparing Venus to Mars here. Yeah sure, they're both planets, but they're not the same. You even stated that both have NFL stadiums outside of their main core areas, but how does that even help define a city? What, so they picked a cheap lot? Houston is one of the most diverse cities in the country on both social and business dealings. Even the definition of 'BBQ' to people in Texas is different to those in Kansas City.
  16. Oh really? Where does KC'S water port sit? What about its massive refinerie row? Also, last I checked Houston's suburbs weren't in Louisiana. A lot of cities have the similarities you just mentioned, but are nothing alike both culturally and economically. Both are good cities, but in entirely different forms. But enough of that. My beef was with some of you Midwestern people with small man-like syndrome who get up in arms about any form of disrespect (or what yall think is disrespect) towards the area. If some of you really believe that Omaha has as much incentive for prospective employees like Miami, Atlanta, or San Diego, then there's no reasoning with y'all.
  17. Well, dont foget about that small weird fanbase of the ACC. Every SEC household has one of those odd sheeps that like Clemson, FSU, or even worse, Georgia Tech and its triple option.
  18. That was taken inside a Walmart that sat next to a B41 tower. Do you think that would have been possible had the Walmart been 1 block away from the tower? Probably not. The fact that the Walmart was sitting next to the tower actually proves how much B41 can be affected by buildings. We've seen good network performance from 8t8r radios at the edge of cell, but the real question is how far has that edge of cell been pushed? I hope it's not to a couple more buildings next to the towers. Also, how low of a signal threshhold will our phones have to have on B41 until battrry life is diminished? If that user was sitting on an optimized B41 with beamforming on, then I'm not really optimistic about the reach of 8t8r. I'd like to be proven wrong, but I'm not going to hold my breath and expect to get B41 where I currently get a decent B25 in the future.
  19. It's not about being hipster, it's about jobs and opportunities. This discussion has nothing to do with style of living and suburban lifestyle. The argument was brought forth due to the idea that Sprint could have a hard time attracting talent to the Midwest. I don't know where being 'hipster' came into the discussion.
  20. I argued this a while back about 2.5 GHz but was told it would be close to matching Sprint's PCS band by several members. I guess my skepticism was somewhat justified about 8t8r. I just don't see how building penetration can be matched to that of the 1900 G band. 2.5 had a hard time with dense trees so densification will be the only way to make 2.5 GHz worth while for Sprint.
  21. You really think Omaha is a destination city for young professionals? Outside of Ag majors, there are not many graduates rushing to Omaha. (unless they're Nebraska Cornhuskers, but that's because they love watching corn grow and reminiscing about the Tom Osborne era with other fellow Cornhuskers. All they talk about is the mid-1990s and how Mike Riley is going to save them from the eternal irrelevance they live in.)
