iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus User Thread
kyle_4thousand replied to COZisBack's topic in Apple/iPhone/iOS
I was looking on Yelp and there's a place in Barrington that fixes iPhone screens (and has a $10 off coupon!) so I may check them out later this week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

-105 ain't a bad signal strength. For whatever reason a lot of Android devices only show 1 bar at that signal level (which I think is a very poor design flaw that should be corrected ASAP) while my iPhone shows 3 bars. Also, I am assuming Minneapolis does not have an extensive B41 network as of yet nor a second B25 carrier. Site spacing is probably not as good as it is in my market either. I also have doubts that Sprint has been able to optimize each and every B26 site to its full potential. These factors are likely why speeds and signal levels appear to be piss poor in your area. I'm happy in the Chicago market with my service. Signal levels are decent, but they could be better. I really hope they deploy 4x2 MIMO on B41 as well as B25 in the near future. Those using T-Mobile claim this configuration is a great complement to their AWS LTE, so I would assume performance using 4x2 would also enhance the PCS LTE and BRS/EBS LTE user experience on B25 and B41 respectively. Also keep in mind that Sprint is planning on increasing site density by a tune of 9000+ sites. In fact, they are putting a new tower just down the street from me. By the looks of it you may be happier with another carrier of you are not able to complete the tasks that mobile phones are supposed to do while on a cellular network. But if it is more of an annoyance rather than un-usability, it may be worth waiting for the network enhancements Sprint has on the horizon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Woohoo! I did a Google search in curiosity of Sprint possibly taking over the old USCC space on my town's water tower, and lo and behold I find some village board minutes telling me exactly what I wanted to see! The motion was granted in August but I have not yet noticed any work beginning. I hope they start soon, because as of today the existing USCC antennas are still present. Edit: I just drove by the water tower and noticed the old USCC equipment shelter appears to have been removed. Progress!! [emoji2]

CellularInfo for iOS: Beta Released (was Coming soon)
kyle_4thousand replied to nahum365's topic in Apple/iPhone/iOS
Not yet, at least on the Sprint network. I hear T-Mobile has 4x2 deployments in Nokia vendor areas which will populate the 4 Tx value in iPhone field test mode.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I got it to populate this morning on B41 (2 Tx), I had my phone sit in field test mode for like 5 minutes when sitting in traffic. Just gotta give it a few minutes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Would it be possible to implement a field within the app showing number of Tx antennas? Field test mode is very finicky with populating that info, especially on B41. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
10MHz by 10MHz LTE 1900 band

AJ, I'm curious on why you think Sprint doesn't need any additional low band spectrum. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I may as well chime in here. I was at Menards the other day (home improvement big box store) that sits right next to a B25/B26 tower. I observed performance to be better on B26 (8 down, 6 up) when I walked to the back of the store, and B25 was performing marginally worse outside and in the front of the store (2 down, 4 up) even with 2 B25 carriers deployed. In areas where B41 is present, I noticed that both B25 and B26 perform a lot better too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm not much of a marketing guru but I do realize many dynamics have changed with both USCC and Sprint in the last two years. Such that, IMO, a name change for Sox Park may be more plausable now with those naming rights to be transferred to Sprint in some fashion. Plausibility does not mean certainty and I realize this. But I think it would certainly prove to be a bold move by Sprint if they bought the naming rights to the ballpark sometime in the near future. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I know that AJ. They sold off their spectrum and subs to Sprint but their HQ is still here like you said. It just seems very irrational for branding to remain on a MLB ballpark after a company that no longer offers any products or services within the Chicago metro area. Even if the naming rights are there for 20 years, contracts can be broken or transferred. USCC doesn't have much to benefit from those naming rights for obvious reasons unless the penalties assessed for terminating the naming agreement are greater than the remaining contract cost. Another observation made before the 2014 season was that the USCC branding on the facade behind home plate was removed. I doubt that would have happened if USCC was still active in the Chicago market. Coincidence? Maybe. But I doubt USCC is fully committed given their Chicagoland exit. Random question.. When the hell are they going to rename US Cellular Field?? I think Sprint Park (or Sprint Spark Park?!?) has a nice ring to it. I feel a rebranded USCC field would be a great asset for Sprint to have now they are back in the game with the improved network. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

From what I understand, this thread is for discussions on 10x10 Sprint PCS carriers. Not sure if wet dreams about a T-Mobile/Dish merger fall under this category. That said, I'm just going to leave this here.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Will 4x2 or 4x4 MIMO ever happen for B25? I think that would be easier than refarming everywhere for a 10x10 carrier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I was looking at 1x stats in my basement and comparing to field test and I noticed my phone will jump to extended at -95 RSSI as indicated on the app, and at -105 RSSI on field test. Is it possible the 1x reading is off by 10? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
T-Mobile LTE & Network Discussion
kyle_4thousand replied to CriticalityEvent's topic in General Topics
Over the summer I was at a pretty large L station in the Chicago Loop that was completely magenta, on 2 stories and down each corridor. In your face T-Mobile girl smirking at you as you ride up/down the escalator. If you could imagine a T-Mobile themed haunted house, that would be it. It was so magenta it burned my eyes.
