  1. I love the WiFi assist setting, especially when my phone connects to the xfinitywifi networks scattered along my area, as well as my company's wifi once I go in the elevator or stairs. (LTE gets through, but wifi doesn't.. Go figure!) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Today I did- at Buckingham Fountain and at the Bud Light state on the north side of the park. Pretty sure I spotted both carriers too; speeds were 1.5 up/down around 5:30 pm. Still a little of a struggle near the stages but that is to be expected for any carrier. Again no issues with calls or SMS; LTE hung on real strong too. A decent showing for Sprint if I do say so myself. Compared to last year and all the other festivals I've been to this summer (quite a few) this was the best I've seen Sprint at those large events. Just wish they would be more mindful of festivals out in the middle of no where (those are the best ones!) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Lollapalooza report for Friday: Held LTE 90% of the time and was only able to check engineering screens twice, both times I was on B26. Data was relatively usable outside the main stage areas, but deep in the crowds not much was able to be sent/received. iMessage worked flawlessly the entire time, which was great! Calls/SMS had absolutely zero issues. Even in the crowded Perry stage I was able to call my friend (also on Sprint) and was able to hear him fine thanks to HD voice. Someone with AT&T even came up to me and asked if they could use my phone too, she said she couldn't do anything on hers and she was only on 3G and No Service most of the time. Not bad, Sprint. Let's see how the rest of the weekend shapes up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Sprint needs to refarm to wider B25 carriers where possible and get 4x2 MIMO going. I still haven't seen it in the wild. Higher power settings would also help. I have an 8T8R tower by me that barely goes out .5 miles until dropping to B25/B26 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. B26 came before the second B25 carrier in Chicago? I thought it was the other way around, or I've just lost all perception of time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Originally when LTE launched in Chicago it was a single B25 5x5 carrier. Then they launched the second PCS carrier, which doubled capacity initially. Once B26 came online, capacity was increased by a factor of 1.5 (If my can remember my maths). Currently Chicago has triple the capacity of the original single G block 5x5 carrier. (Not counting B41) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. This is the Midwest, Chicago market specifically. Away you troll. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I sure hope so, get a half a dozen Triband COWs out there and they might have a decent chance of having usable data there. I have a 3 day pass and I'm hoping the network is at least somewhat usable Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. F that Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I updated OTA straight from stock 8.4 to 9.0 public beta. No jailbreak or anything along those lines. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Yes, re entering the passwords is the only downfall of that workaround. Luckily I only connect to 2-3 password protected wifi networks on the reg so it's not too much of an issue for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Anyone notice on the public 9.0 beta that wifi connections will time out due to authentication failures? The issue is corrected with a full network settings reset. This issue has been occurring about every 3 days. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. It's nice to see additional progress in my previous home market. (Including better performance in the tourist areas) Any CA sightings in the Orlando metro? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Wild guess, but possibly load balancing could prevent CA between B25 and B26 from happening if B26 is already congested. Plus I think I remember hearing that T-mobile plans to aggregate their B12 with AWS/PCS where possible. So why not Sprint? B26 is 5MHz FDD like TMUS's B12. I don't see much difference in that logic as both carriers have a fixed amount of low-band LTE for users out of reach of mid-band LTE capacity. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Is there capability to aggregate B25 and B26 carriers to a 10 (or 15) Mhz FDD - like experience? I realize it probably wouldn't be priority for Sprint to do now with all this 2x20 B41 CA excitement going on but I think it would help at least marginally with their overall data experience. 16. I noticed Sprint is one of the main sponsors for Lollapalooza this year. They will even have a "Sprint Stage." I have a three day pass this year and other than all the music and schinadigans I will be participating in I am also looking forward to seeing how well they will fair with over 100k people that will be in Grant Park over the weekend. Last year the service was mostly usable but not without sore spots. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. The storms didn't seem too bad in the NW suburbs. I have a 10x10 ft Coleman shade tent set up and tied down on my deck and the thing didn't budge at all. We did get like 2.75 inches of rain though. It's been a really wet summer so far and my grass has never been greener. [emoji6] My uncle is trying to fly out of Midway this morning. Lots of cancellations and delays but it appears his flight out to Raleigh is still on track for 10:30am. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. On the last couple most recent stock carrier bundles I was noticing a lot more drops to 1x, my phone would seem to hesitate to even find a 3G signal to latch onto when LTE dropped. However on the iOS 9 beta the carrier bundle seems to have fixed most of those issues. I've been holding on to LTE a lot better than I was in the past. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. The problem is 5mhz FDD gets overloaded wayyyy to fast and performance sucks on the cell edge compared to wider carriers. Not so nice.. That's why many people do not like not being on B41 when the grass could be so much greener, especially when WiFi is also not an option. Luckily I don't come across this as much as I used to as we have good load balancing and site spacing in my area, not to mention B26 and an extra B25 carrier to boot. 20. Maybe because it's a rough neighborhood? I'm sure NV gear has some sort of value on the black market (copper, precious metals, etc) Just my guess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Let's say Sprint secures enough 600mhz to deploy a 10x10 swath of LTE in next year's auction. (fingers crossed) How quickly would vendors be able to manufacture antennas for carriers to overlay the network, in anticipation of the spectrum being cleared? What about OEMs building 600mhz functionality into devices to seed the market? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I just made a donation! I'm a little low on funds this month too but still able to kick something in [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. What knocked Sprint down this time is whatever extra spectrum AT&T deployed to increase their data speeds. Everyone else seems consistent with the results from last time. Sprint did increase their DL by about 3mbps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Edit: This is my entire family's usage (5 lines). Mine is averaged to about 5 Gb per month
  25. If the company thought it wasn't appropriate, and depicted their employees negatively to the show's audience, they wouldn't have allowed the skit to run with the Sprint branding. Even if no money changed hands, Sprint likely saw this as an opportunity to gain some "coolness" in light of how hip T-Mobile is perceived to be by young urban adults (target audience of SNL). This is very close if not the same to the demographic that T-Mobile is focusing the bulk of their advertising on. What if that was a T-Mobile store and employees in the skit? Do you think John Legere and his fanboy army would have been up in arms? Not at all! They would have called it GENIUS.
