  1. More like coming from "network communication issues" and a phone that heats up to 110° and dies within 2 hours trying to find decent service Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
  2. If you feel you consume a lot of data a good way to lower usage for network junkies like us is to stop mashing the speed test button. I'm guilty of this as I test a few times a day and it accounts for about 30% of my data usage. I think I use around 4GB a month depending if I'm traveling or not. Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
  3. Really though. 3G in Orlando needs some work. I wouldn't have had a problem being on 3G if it where usable but more often than not it wasn't. Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
  4. I'm sitting in a restaurant right now and I can see the tower, about .5 miles away. Signal strength is -80 dBm Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
  5. For LTE or 1x/3G? Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
  6. So I just moved back to my parents in the NW burbs (Fox River Grove) from Orlando, and it really is a night and day difference being in a complete market. I was using my nexus 5 initially and it did connect to B41 after a PRL update, but after it lost it, I could not get back. 3G is performing phenomenally too. even with a -100dbm eHRPD signal I can still browse and do whatever with no issues. I was curious to see how my G2 performed up here too so I swapped phones. When on 3G it did not want to park on 1x800 until I death-gripped it, even then it quickly went back to 1x1900 after the fact. I flashed the sponsor's PRL to get it parked on 1x800, since I'm on the fringe of PCS. B41 is abundant here and I even hold onto a usable -120 dbm signal in my basement! I haven't run into any B26 or USCC carriers yet, but I have a feeling they will be coming very soon. So far I'm very impressed with the network here.
  7. I think TDD doesn't work like that. 20mhz? Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
  8. Driving thru Colombia on I 77 at I 20 and caught some B26. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  9. They where throwing a fit in my hometown about a proposed cell tower a few months ago. The zoning board initially denied it, but AT&T came back with a 'stealth' pine tree design and the village OK'ed it. So dumb. http://nwherald.com/2014/05/01/fox-river-grove-board-oks-monopine-design-for-att/a3n894h/'> http://nwherald.com/2014/05/01/fox-river-grove-board-oks-monopine-design-for-att/a3n894h/ Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  10. The network might be shunting you over to 3G to balance the load so data can be used by everyone connected to the tower. I know it is supposed to do that between LTE bands but my guess it can do it between 3G and LTE as well. I've seen this happen before too Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  11. My estimate was correct, B26 is being launched and I move away from Orlando tomorrow morning. Figures lol Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  12. They are remodeling the roof and inside so maybe it will happen soon. My parents are staying there this weekend too, weird.. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  13. I found an easy way to get your MSL without root or dealing with customer service. I swapped my Nexus 5 back to the G2 on the sprint website and found that they actually give it to you as an "activation code" in the self service device activation. I confirmed this by using the code to change my LTE band scanning priorities. However I'm not 100 percent sure if it works for other devices.
  14. CSFB issues are fixed at UCF. Quicker than I had expected! Now LTE is abundant on campus, what a wonderful day. Just in time for me to graduate and move away lol Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  15. Actually in Chicago there have been permits issued for B41 equipment to get deployed on NV sites that are within the clear footprint, so we may see some being deployed in the area after all. I just hope they install 8T8R to the rest of the clear footprint. Also do we know what kind of B41 equipment is installed on the Clear sites in this market right now? Hopefully they decide to replace those with 8T8R too because the signals I get from the clear sites drop out way too easily.
  16. B41 is operational to some extent. only about 50% of the Clearwire sites have been upgraded in the area.. so coverage is not as robust as it could be. They need to finish the remaining Clearwire sties and add the 8T8R antennas/RRH's to NV sites to really feel the power, just like everywhere else. Backhaul is not upgraded everywhere for B41 either. Some places I get really good signal on B41 but my DL speeds top out around 17mbs. Of course I would rather be connected to one of those sites than a saturated B25 one.
  17. I don't know how birds can nest up on towers without getting turned into a bucket of fried chicken (I'm sure Robert would be all over that). And there's a flag pole tower directly next to my parking garage for t-mobile, I'm scared to park in the few spaces directly adjacent to it on the 7th floor because I would literally be 10 ft away from the panels
  18. It's kind of vague in that aspect I guess. That's what I got out of reading it, but they could just be referring to HTC specific updates. but maybe it could be part of the reason, maybe not. Just thought it would be interesting to see what you guys thought.
  19. "Software update release dates are dependent on the progress made in internal testing and at the moment, it doesn’t look like HTC has completed that testing for its Android 4.4.3 KitKat updates."
  20. I've never been able to get a signal strength that good on B41. Where you like literally up against the panel? lol usually the best i've seen on B41 standing next to the site in the "sweet spot" is -72 dBm
  21. http://www.gottabemobile.com/2014/04/28/android-4-4-3-kitkat-release-details-leak/ Apologies if this was posted earlier, but it looks like HTC is to blame for the 4.4.3 release delay according to this article.
  22. Yes it is. There's a crew working there now with 4 white pickups. No Ericcson logo, so probably some contractors finishing up the acceptance. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  23. Handset: Nexus 5 & G2 LTE Connectivity: None since 4/26 Location: Orlando, FL 32816 Note: Experiencing issues with a newly 4G accepted tower- I'm assuming issues should get worked out rather soon since Orlando doesn't seem to have many problems with eCSFB. Anyone have experiences with a new B25 tower coming on line that has had similar issues?
  24. AND SOMETHING GOT DONE! The tower across the street from me (UCF campus north) got 4G accepted which is probably why I've been having all these eCSFB issues. It's not band 26, but at this point I'll take what we can get. I actually have a decent LTE signal inside my apartment for the first time EVER, just in time for me to move out next week. -__- What is really awesome about this particular tower getting accepted is that the LTE signal is stronger than the legacy 3G/1x signal that is coming from the same site. Usually my phone drops 3g when I place it in a particular area on my desk but this time around it stays connected to LTE with a signal strength of about -106! I'm so excited. Can't wait to see if it will get 3G accepted and eCSFB issues worked out this week. here's some screen shots:
  25. I haven't even been able to hold an LTE connection last night into today. It tries to connect then it drops to 3G. Seems to be eCSFB related but I don't know why I'm seeing it now after months with no issues Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
