"bars" are inaccurate in general. Its just someones idea that x dBm=x # of bars. The bars are lying 99% of the time. Ive seen my go from 2 bars to 4 bars, within only a few dBm difference .

With EVO LTE, YES, unless already on stock everything(rom, recovery) the S3 already have a downloadable update zip . EVO LTE hasnt had an update since the 1.22 one

I mentioned it on there yesterday in the flash radios thread

and hope the EVO LTE gets an update as well..(in east Wichita, i had to toggle to get the 4g)

They are not. (at least not Network Vision). Try doing a data profile update, and if that doesnt work, contact sprint and/or make sure you dont have any apps acting up

4 different sites? LOL, CHECKED MY DATA USAGE , ALMOST 500MB of just doing some speed tests

went to both sites just east of Wichita, KS Here is what i got.... (these are from tower WT03XC021 ) and the signal, while driving stayed for 3.6 miles west Site WT03XC009 was spitting out LTE as well, averaging 18-20mbps down, and 10-12 mbps up ->sorry, no screen shot of those Phone stayed connected to this tower for 3.6 miles as well. (ALL DONE WITH EVO LTE) Using the LTE RECORD, looks like i connected to 4 different towers spitting LTE

Looking forward to it. My patience will soon be rewarded i know its going to be harder and harder to make these maps as the schedule of NV speeds up

guys said they are doing LTE for mcpherson and Salina and NOT western kansas.. i hope they are affiliated with sprint or Ericsson for NV upgrades...

ill stop by again and check with them to see if they know anything. Hopefully they are there tomorrow also

I know on the evo lte when you do ##data# and go to edit mode then select Evdo you have an option to change to LTE mode only (I did this but since so lte here yet it to no signal lol) Sent from either my SSGS3 or Evo Lte using Forum Runner

Played around with my evo lte today to see if my signal was worse and speeds lower after the update( I reflashed the firmware +data profile update). I did10 test cycles using rootmetics and dBm average was -104 with average downloads of 127kbps and uploads of 188kbps. I ran an RUU back to stock shipped and ran 10 test cycles again, this time average dBm was -98 with average downloads of 527kbps and uploads of 308 kbps. All tests were done at the same location. I also activated my S3 on my sisters line (temp) and did tests at the same time, tests were on par with the EVO lte in signal strength and speed before the update. I ended up having a longer lunch today then scheduled, so i drove out to the site just north of town again, when my evo LTE switched towers, it showed i had good signal strength, but no 3G for about 40-45 seconds (this is after the update) lol. I have no idea if these results are coincidence or if i have a defect evo lte. On wednesday, ill have a sprint store take a look at it (also has the light bleed issue)
