From where I am standing Orlando seems to have the worst of it. Others are at least getting solid 1x1900 and 3G. All I can pull is 1x800.

think my tower has gone into cardiac arrest. Started getting 1x800 last night and this morning its alternating back and forth between 1x800 and RTT, before losing the connection completely to where I can't call out.
Looks like there is a large scale outage. We have been talking about it in the Jacksonville thread.
Could be nationwide... Lots of Florida and Missouri affected at least. We'll learn more as our users wake up.

My EVDO connection is solid, though. As is 1x1900.
Guess Orlando just got lucky. At least there is plenty of 1x800.

Might nationwide. No LTE in St. Louis either. Stuck on EV-DO
Wow this is crazy lol.

1x1900 is useless right now as well. Looks like 1x800 works when I can hold it but my phone keeps jumping around.

No LTE (B41, B26, or B25) in Orlando either.

What type of results are you seeing? Do you have any screenshots?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
It was a pretty noticeable change in battery life. My phone went from dying in 10-12 hours to lasting 15-16 (3.5-4 hours of screen time). I don't have any good screenshots to illustrate that though.

Is he still NOPping fsync calls? I'd rather maintain my filesystem integrity.
I'm largely unfamiliar with how he works with fsync calls, but I can see there is an enable and disable option in the Kernel Settings for it.

Since a lot of you guys are now rooted following the Nexus update, I'd highly recommend downloading Franco Kernel Updater! I have been using it for two months now (off and on), and there is certainly a big battery gain just by flashing the kernel.
You can try the free version-
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.kernel.freeBut I'd recommend supporting the dev and buying the full release. If you are hesitant on spending $5.50 on an app (it's worth it) then you should build survey credit with Google Opinions and pay with that.

This is the image it was compromised and degraded when uploaded. Same site and repeatable result. Not my first time noticing the variance between the two devices https://app.box.com/s/xqvuwauwugfk4b4lvac0
Ah much better!

I'm not concerned about the fact that I am getting 10 Mbps more so my HTC one max same location gets a full 10 Mbps more from the same spot and time and network! Which means there is something amiss with my nexus 5.
Kind of hard to tell from that blurry log picture but it doesn't appear that you are on the same band with both phones. The HTC One Max is on the unburdened B26 signal and the N5 is on B25. You can change your band preference on the N5 to favor B26 and B41 if it is important to you.

Has anyone heard anything on the rumor mill about Google Camera getting an update for burst? Besides Sense, its the only think I am really missing from my EVO LTE lol.

Getting a new phone tomorrow. Worried about getting the Nexus 5 now cuz of the radio update in android 4.4.3. How would you rank the following phones based on their radio?
Nexus 5
HTC One
LG G2
Galaxy S4
Moto X

Nexus is still king. You wouldn't think so by the way everyone complains about the new radios, myself included, but it really is a phenomenal RF performer. Best part, if you want the .15 radio performance you can easily just flash that radio.

Both can be used internationally with GSM networks.

Thanks! I was looking it up for a friend (haven't kept up with iPhone in a while), but there was some conflicting info out there and I trust s4gru the most of course.

Can't remember, was it the iPhone 5s, iPhone5, or neither/both that could be used internationally with GSM networks?
-
Do any of you guys have some engineering screen shots of both B25 carriers?

It's fixed! Changes before I could even acknowledge any messages that came in.
Mine is till an hour behind lol.

So, I've had a lot of problems as of late sending MMS. One guy on T-Mob doesn't get them, and now another on AT&T. Sent to my wife on Verizon, and it seemed to have gone through without an issue.
I know people have had this issue before, and it's been a variety of things, but is there a prevailing issue now? Is it Hangouts, Sprint, ???
Update your profile. Had the same issue for weeks then felt pretty silly after that was the fix.

How's this for battery life after update?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Phone standby 21%? Just a tad misleading... What's your battery like when the screen is actually on lol?

The update fixed it and the app worked great, I now have a Galaxy s5 and still use it no problem. Looking forward to the update though.

Great, glad to hear it!

Update fixed it. Time to hunt more lte lol. Thanks.

Have you had any more issues since then? I've been working on a really large upgrade to the application and it has required changing a lot of the back-end to accomplish it.

Have a direct comparison for in building coverage after the site about 1.5 miles away from me got a 1x800 upgrade.
On 1x1900: -85dBm indoors
On 1x800: -69dBm indoors
Now that is a huge difference.

Anyone hear any talk of Band 4 getting activated for the N5 following the T-Mobile merger?

Solution found. At the cost of no voice.

Or you can use .15 and only have no voice on eCSFB troubled sites lol.

What's weird is my disconnected Evo LTE seems to be able to hold a 1x800 signal reliably right now where my Nexus is going in and out.
I am thinking triband may have a more stable connection by going into 3G only mode.
Edit: Confirmed
