    LG G3

LG is also giving away 75 G3s if you comment on MKBHD's video on YouTube. Don't have the link handy at the moment. You all seem like the industrious types that can search. sent from an underwater dust storm with my Sprint S5

    LG G3

One of you fresh new G3 owners need to find a galaxy S5 and compare some side by side dBms, pretty please. Are there any retail employees on this thread? Also, does the G3 read only 1 bar at -100dBm RSRP and lower (-105, -110) when connected to LTE? I know the bars don't matter and the signals are plenty strong, blah, blah, blah, just curious for joe schmo customer who just thinks their "reception sux because they ain't got no signals"
  3. Oh man, USCC addition would be huge for rural wisconsin. West of Madison is completely roaming.
  4. I've tried a lot of the weather apps like WeatherUnderground, Weather Channel, etc. etc. but find myself coming back to the WeatherBug Elite app. It costs a couple bucks, but the radar loads fast and there's no ads (once you pay). It'd only like 2-3 bucks. Worth it, IMO.
  5. Ant radio service is put there by the OS and Samsung. Don't delete that one!
  6. Don't have that app on mine. You must have downloaded it at some point. Or you installed some shady apps. sent from an underwater dust storm with my Sprint S5
  7. Oh also, did you guys get the update to Google Search app? It now allows "Ok, Google" hotword to be said from any screen/app even when the phone is locked and charging (even wireless charging). It doesn't work if the screen is off and phone is not charging though, unlike the MotoX. This is pretty sweet. You have to opt into the settings and train "Ok, Google" inside Google Now.
  8. The international S5 got an update to speed up the camera opening, but that has yet to hit our phones. Hopefully that'll come soon. I was told by a "high level" Sprint tech support yesterday that another build is in testing for our phones that addresses the bluetooth issues (car kit connection on outgoing calls that is directly related to SMR800) that I've been having plus the call echo issues that many people have reported. He said it would be pushed out by end of July, so perhaps that'll include the camera speed update? Take that with a huge grain of salt, but I had to get transferred 4 times to get to this guy. Perhaps he was telling the truth. I don't see any new RDFs posted yet though.
  9. Clear data in application manager for the finger print app? Doubt that would work, but otherwise, I think its a factory reset or wait it out.
  10. Wow, I'm impressed with the call quality and clarity on WiFi calling. I was expecting something similar to the quality I hear on MVNOs like Republic Wireless, but no way. Well done, Sprint and Samsung!
  11. I wish that it didn't have to sit up there in the notification area all the time. I mean, when you place a call, it has the WiFi icon above the phone button. I would think that's enough? Well, time to make another routine for Trigger to toggle that for me when I'm within these networks at work....... EDIT: Actually, this is pretty slick. You leave the area and the notification goes away. There are also 0 cellular radios being used except for the WiFi, so Signalcheck doesn't show any connection to cellular because it doesn't need it. This has to be THE ultimate battery saver.
  12. Well, I can say that I haven't noticed any other changes in the phone signal strength or reporting, I really believe that this update was just the WiFi calling. That's a bit unfortunate, the WiFi calling is pretty nice, but there are a few more bugs they could address on this phone. So I logged into the WiFi calling, it said success. Then when I touched the toggle for it, it went through the activation again. This time it said there was a network error? Now I can't seem to use WiFi calling? I can't toggle it on? Anyone see this behavior? EDIT: Nevermind, updated PRL again and it's working now.
  13. Yes. It goes away pretty quickly though. It'll say that if it's attempting to update profile or PRL, so it's no big deal, IMO. sent from an underwater dust storm with my Sprint S5
  14. Agreed, it's strange that no one has reported they've received it..... It usually isn't for quite some time after the OTA roll out is complete if it operates like it has in the past.

  16. Over at XDA they are reporting an increase in signal strength for LTE. They're flashing a tar of the ROM. I'm waiting for the official GOTA link but if you're brave you can head over to XDA for the links. sent from an underwater dust storm with my Sprint S5
  17. According to Sprint, the tower near Fish Hatchery at the beltline has been offline sporadically. I'm sure it'll be patched up soon. sent from an underwater dust storm with my Sprint S5
  18. I for cereal hope that there's more to this update than that.
  19. NE5 update has posted to open source site. Just waiting on the OTA push. If anyone gets the update, please let us know what the file name is so we can harvest it from the GOTA server. I believe the file will be in /cache if you download but don't apply the update and can be viewed with something like ES File Explorer. sent from an underwater dust storm with my Sprint S5
  20. They will never let us turn the shutter sound totally off. Honestly it's a miracle they let us turn the volume down to silence it. The latest updates for the S3 allow the shutter to silence when the phone volume is down. The S2 (Epic4GTouch) never allowed it. This is only on the Sprint variant, other carriers have the toggle to silence shutter sound. The history of this is failed legislation in Congress for a privacy act to always make sure someone knew they were photographing you. Before the law was even voted upon, Sprint made a policy that all phones had to have audible shutters to comply with this. The law never went through, but Sprint kept their policy. However, the iPhone was never subject this. After months of back and forth with Sprint, they started to allow the shutter to silence with the phone volume off. It's not ideal, but the best we're going to get. sent from an underwater dust storm with my Sprint S5
  21. Eh, I turned it off. Rather take a few fuzzy ones than wait for the shutter. sent from an underwater dust storm with my Sprint S5
  22. Have you tried a Samsung Experience shop inside a Best Buy? I've heard that some are doing small repairs and swaps. They may have the piece. I posted a link pages back about a place to order a new USB door flap and instructions on how to replace it. Maybe you've already done that? sent from an underwater dust storm with my S5
  23. The genuine Samsung wireless charging back cover is now (and finally) available at Samsung.com. http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EP-CG900IWUSTA sent from an underwater dust storm with my S5
  24. Ask and ye shall receive! http://www.radioshack.com/category/index.jsp?categoryId=28426736 Edit: looks like that's contingent on a trade-in of a relatively new device for their buy back, so might not be much better than other buy back deals. However, still attractive.
