  1. Don't the new plans require you to buy phones from Sprint with Easy Pay? I thought I read that somewhere... that you can't bring your own phone to that plan. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

    LG G3

Went and looked at an LG G3 today. The screen is beautiful! I ended up ordering the Shine Gold color for my wife when I got home. I'm going to try to hold onto my LG G2 a little more... at least till the iPhone 6 comes out. If all it is just a bigger phone, then I'll probably get me an LG G3 also.
  3. I bought an LG G2 about 2 months ago. There is an area on the phone where the touch screen is unresponsive. Every once in a while the phone gets too hot, will randomly do crazy stuff on the screen (zoom in, scroll, etc) by itself. Is that normal, or should I file an insurance claim? I already did a factory reset on the phone and it didn't fix it. I thought it could be the case, but taking it off didn't fix it. The software is up to date and it still is like that. The area where it's unresponsive on my phone is when you are on the Play Store and going to install an app. When you try to click 'install' on the app you want to install, you can't press it. I have to turn the phone sideways to get it install. Even when I try to click the 'copy' or 'paste' on something highlighted, it's almost impossible to get the phone to do what I want it to.

    LG G3

I'm gonna hold on to my G2 a little longer, but I'm gonna upgrade the wife's Note 2 with this phone. Hopefully she likes it.
  5. The past couple of days my phone has been going crazy with notifications. 1xRTT still goes back and forth to 1x800. B26 comes in goes every 10-20 minutes or so at night, but it's usually at -118dBm, so the signal goes away almost instantly. Do they do work at night, or why would it be I only have these notifications at night? Service a minute or two from the house is pretty much nonexistent, but I don't know if it's one of those issues with my LG G2 not transferring signal correctly, or service is just that bad right now (and for the most part, has been). I was in South Lakeland by 570 and was getting B26 yesterday, but mostly stayed on b25 where I was hitting 20-25Mbps. I was pretty close to a tower, so that is probably why, but I'll take it! On the way home today on 92 from Lakeland to Auburndale I was getting B26. I don't know how to find out how far away the tower was, but it looked like it was quite a distance away. Today while in Altamonte Springs for work I was picking up B26 also, right off exit 92 I believe. I really didn't pay attention to the exit I was on, but it was around there. I mainly was on B25, but definitely noticed B26 here and there. No B41. There are still some areas in Orlando that I can't pick up LTE and 3G is pretty bad. I had to use Google Maps to find a place and my GPS lost signal twice, thus making me have to do U-turns a few times. ;( For the most part I'm very happy with my LTE connections. Usually I'm in an area with wifi, or I'm in an area with good service. Every once in a while i"ll be inside somewhere that doesn't have wifi and my service is unusable, but hopefully B26 changes that soon.
  6. Today at my house in Auburndale, I noticed I started to get 1x 800 later in the afternoon. While eating dinner at the house I saw I got band 26 LTE, but it was only for a few seconds. I couldn't even try to do a speed test, but at least I know it's being worked on somewhere around me! It did that a couple of times, then would just stay at 1xRTT and periodically get band 25 LTE. Someones band 25 works at the house, but most of the time it doesn't and I have to use wifi or stick with 3G (Airave). I know I have wifi, but band 26 is going to be my saving grace for anything around my house. I have band 25 coverage shown on Sprint coverage maps, but I rarely get it anywhere near my house.
  7. I get B41 at FDOT, but service is nonexistence it seems. I usually gotta turn on airplane mode, then turn it off and it usually connects to B26 for a little, before my service just stops working again. Today was a pain in the butt! I haven't tried B26 inside anywhere yet, but tomorrow I have a meeting, so I may try it to see if I can get it inside. Sprint coverage shows the office for the company I work at as 'best' coverage for Spark, but it is an absolute joke. 3G is really slow and I never get LTE there. I never did with my S4 either. I even reset the service using LTE Discovery (think it's called that), and service is always horrible.
  8. If I'm 'updating' from a release S4 to a G2, will I notice a difference in better service? I'm working at the FDOT off Mckinley. Where I work is in a Spark area now too, but it's just on the edge where the service ends. I was going to upgrade to an S5, but I really didn't want to do that since the S5 didn't interest me that much. I rather wait for the Note 3 or iPhone 6. If I do get better service with this G2, then I'll have to upgrade my wife to something better quick.
  9. Hmm, where I work at has Spark coverage now. I actually drive a lot and am stationed in Tampa right now, so I think it's time for me to get a triband phone.
  10. I'm working a job-site between Busch Gardens and USF. I only have an S4, but really want a tri-band phone. I'm trying to hold off for the S5, but I really some sprint Spark speeds, lol.
  11. I went to add services in my account under my phone. It let me add it there for free (SERO plan) for my S4. This is awesome!
  12. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done for what I do. ~ Intel 3770k ~ Corsair H100 ~ Asus Sabertooth Z77 ~ 8gb G. Skill Ripjaws X ddr3 2133 ~ XFX 6970 2gb ~ CORSAIR 650W ~ Samsung 830 256gb ~ WD Black 500gb ~ Samsung SH-S223Q ~ Dell U2412M ~ Logitech G930 ~Cooler Master Storm Scout
  13. I was in winter haven today and I had awesome LTE service while there. I was so happy. It was 100x better than Lakeland. I was getting 20+mbps a few times in different areas and the slowest was about 8 mbps inside a building.
  14. Speeds today in Lakeland, FL, are painfully slow. Areas I used to get decent speeds are to a crawl today. I'm talking about they are barely usable for data on 3G/4G. Areas that I used to get 4G in Lakeland won't even connect, and when they do it's like .05Mbps down and .007Mbps up. I was in a bunch of Lakeland locations today, and all were bad. My current job-site is in Bartow (10-15 minutes south of Lakeland, FL, and the speeds there are unusable also. I get around the same speeds mentioned above in Bartow. On the way home in Auburndale, FL, I pulled over and did a few speed test at different locations. Where I would normally get 18mb down, I'm maybe getting 10-12mb max.
  15. Orlando Lakeland, FL Winter Haven, FL OMG! Thank you!!!! I'm right in between those two cities and I believe everyone of our towers are updated. Is there any chance my city, Auburndale, will be up and running also?!?
  16. IMO, data is so expensive b/c they know that's where they can make their $$$. Not much competition hurts. Hopefully T-mobile and Sprint make Verizon/AT&T lower their prices or give you more data for what they want you to pay now.
  17. Do not quote me on this, but I don't think any phone is going to help with that right now if they are working in your area. Until your area is launched and every tower is upgraded I think your best bet is to just get a phone that suits your needs with LTE and be happy with it. I think the iPhone 5s has 800/1900mhz, and the LG2 is tri-band, but until everything is complete there isn't much we can do atm. Once everything is completed in your area, I'm sure it won't matter what phone you get, but a tri-band phone would definitely work best.
  18. I give it 2 weeks + 1 day Bob! Every cell tower around me, except maybe a handful in neighboring cities is upgraded. I can't wait for it to go live!
  19. I was doing some roof work at UCF last week. I saw some company doing work on some kind of tower; maybe a water tower? They were out there Thursday and Friday when I was there. I got decent LTE coverage on the roof, but on the ground it wasn't that great. How well will LTE be in Orlando once the market goes live? Is it going to be spotty like it is in Cocoa Beach/Rockledge area? On the roof of the building I was working at I'd get pretty good LTE signal, but on the ground it was very hit or miss. I knew a certain area in the parking lot that got good LTE signal, so I took my lunch there everyday, but about 200ft away it was either no signal, or constantly switching back and forth from 3G to LTE, which barely worked. There are some areas on I4 that my signal is horrible with 3G, and won't even pick up LTE.
  20. I just got an Airave 2.5 (had the old model but it stopped working). My 3G speeds on the old one were about 2.3mb at best. With the 2.5 airave I am getting 2.51mb down and 0.73 upload. When my old airave was down for a few months I would get 4G speeds inside and sometimes get 4mb down from the Sprint towers. This airave sometimes says it's on 4G with full bars, and will get 3-4mb down, but upload is usually around 1mb. Do the 2.5 Airaves get LTE? It just seems weird b/c I thought they didn't get 4G? Even if it does get 4G, it makes me wonder b/c when I would get 4mb down with Sprint towers I barely had a signal. This was done on the Speedtest app, so could that be why? I guess it really doesn't matter at the end of the day though, because I am going to be connected to a 70mb connection. I was just curious though. I also only got the 2.5 Airave b/c the old one bit the dust, and sometimes people come over and don't use the wifi, so the airave treated them nicely that they didn't ask for the wifi password, lol.
  21. On Friday I'm going to NY and Canada for a week. I'll make sure to run Sensorly all the way up there and back! I hope the service isn't horrible on i95.
  22. I have noticed my LTE signal has gotten better. I do roofing, so I'm over at St. Mary's (near Publix off us1?) doing their roof. On the roof I usually 4-6mb speeds. On the ground I would never get LTE signals and the 3G signal was weak, but as of the past 2 weeks I have gotten LTE in areas I didn't previously while on the ground.
