I can confirm there is still no LTE at my house, yet they still claim I have full LTE service.

They reduced LTE coverage to be at least more accurate for what I have experienced in the North Valley, far Northeast Heights and Downtown.

  2. There is a new article highlighting some interesting issues that may restrict a Sprint/T-Mobile merger :

    http://www.bizjournals.com/seattle/news/2017/02/24/t-mobile-analyst-details-potential-snags-in-sprint.html

I've given my perspectives to this already, being that I believe the merger, no matter who controls the two combined companies, whether it be DT or Softbank, since both are foreign companies, I really doubt this merger will happen for that reason and for the reasons involving the outcome producing a combined carrier much larger in network size and spectrum assets than the two U.S.-based carriers, AT&T and Verizon. Also, while I use to support the general concept of the merger between Sprint and T-Mobile, there are other merger scenarios I not only would vastly prefer than this, but also believe will have a much greater liklihood of actually occurring.

For instance, the AT&T/T-Mobile merger possibility, though I admit there is much less chance of that happening if DT refuses to sell T-Mobile, doubting AT&T would do much to stop a DT takeover of Sprint whereas they'd be more competitive in keeping Softbank/Sprint from buying T-Mobile from DT. As I've thought about this more since the Open Signal reports released recently, the less favorable I am to AT&T getting T-Mobile.

My hope now is that DT/T-Mobile gets Dish, and competes with AT&T/DirecTv. That would put the two carriers on a very near-even scale regarding spectrum, which network size-wise T-Mobile is getting very close to matching AT&T. Having those two compete under this arrangement would be very good for consumers, and then give more likelihood to the possibility of allowing a three-carrier market with Verizon buying Sprint from Softbank seeing that Softbank seems wanting to sell Sprint pretty badly.

Despite giving Verizon a fairly large advantage over AT&T and Sprint, it wouldn't be quite as disproportionate as with a Sprint/T-Mobile combination. Plus, Verizon being U.S.-based would bring ownership of Sprint back to the states in this scenario. Also, Verizon would better be able to serve its large customer base with Sprint's spectrum, adding to extra competition. This paves the way for a better wireless industry open to mergers with cable companies on a more national scale. As I suspect, there likely will be more mergers going on between cable companies prior to them getting involved in wireless, so they won't be limited to selling bundles in the regional markets they currently serve, but rather nationwide, giving customers more choice.

Doesn't matter who is in the White House and whoever is sitting on the justice committee. Verizon getting sprint is a pipe dream.

  3. T-Mobile is looking to disrupt the pay TV industry. Which might mean that instead of Sprint they might might merge with Dish. Dish has spectrum and they have the content agreements. Sprint has spectrum but also a lot of debt. Hmmm...decisions, decisions:

    http://www.fiercewireless.com/wireless/t-mobile-execs-eye-pay-tv-industry

Just like cable cos wanting to move into wireless, T-Mobile wants to move into the pay TV industry. Which came first, the chicken or the egg ;)?

Might be a 3 way. Take a look at the replay? (SNL anybody?)

  4. So here is my update on getting my bill credits for turning in my iphone 6 for the free iphone 7 promo.  Apparently the billing system did not allow the promotion to occur on my account as I am on a 1500 ED plan and provided a $10 credit to my line only. After discussing with Sprint, they sent me to besbuy (where I bought), and their sprint rep has been able to determine what happen and is getting a massive credit on my bill vs getting the $26 credit for the next 24 months.  Once it posts to my account, Ill let you all know. Based on whats posting, I won't have to pay my bill for like three months.

  5. From looking at my spectrum map that I did over the 2.5 spectrum, I believe that Sprint has over 100 mhz for deployment.  I don't think they will deploy them with 3 carriers out from the start. I think they will make two with out CA. Then have a team specialized for the remainder follow. However, having two additional carriers at 20mhz for download would be huge (obvi look at other markets). In addition, EP could expand B25 to a additional carrier. I don't believe if the carrier can be 10x10 though.

This is all of my hope for ABQ as well. Ive noticed now with people with Tmo that I can keep signal deep in buildings with B26 and they are dropping but that is not holding as Ive seen the B12 antennae are being put up all over the city.

  7. This has to be a good sign tho. How long you think it will take sprint to get band 41 to a decent percentage

each permit is open for 6months. Last time EP was the fist city in the Albuquerque market to get LTE (attributable to access to fibber or AVV). Once the permit is in place, a team could roll in and do all open permits on a week or so. It is actually pretty quick. The question I have is when they do this if they will activate at least two carriers. Instantly getting 40mz more capacity is huge.

  8. Doesn't El Paso have like 80 sites top? I've never counted them, but if they did approve enough funding for it they could have all of El Paso fitted with B41 by summer. They won't,but I'm saying they could.

I have a spread sheet and in El Paso municipality alone (which I assume this site will only query), there are 45 total locations. As of last count, 37 of those had LTE accepted. I have not been down in EP for at lease a year to check on the additional locations.

  9. I had wifi calling enabled on my iPhone and was on a call a few mins ago. I had to leave the house and usually my call drops as I move away from my home but tonight the call didn't drop but smoothly transitioned to the network!!!

  10. I'm still having trouble with the notification system. This is the biggest change coming from Android and Palm. Palm had the best notification system but the way it works in Android is not bad either. I miss the flashing notification light.

Go to settings>General>Accessibility>scroll down to Hearing section and select "LED flash for Alerts"

    Done!

  11. That's terrible on Sprints end. I would call corporate and complain lol. You got your phone though right? How are you enjoying it so far.
