To the earlier discussion about the number of cell sites being turned off, I did a little bit of an analysis.  I used Spotsylvania County, VA as my example case, excluding the Shentel area.  I put both the Sprint and T-Mobile sites on a map.  The total number of sites is 18.  Of those, 12 are shared between Sprint and T-Mobile.  Of the remaining six, 5 are Sprint-only and 1 is T-Mobile only.  While the 1 T-Mobile only site is kind of near one of the Sprint-only sites, both are on I-95 and AT&T is actually on both towers, so I would expect them to keep both.

So even though 2/3 of the Sprint sites would presumably go away in Spotsylvania County, the actual change in service would be effectively zero.

Great analysis. I will do this for the ABQ market as well. I am interested in the New Co coverage.

I was hoping that one of you could confirm that.  It never showed up on any of my lists.  That, and the one just west of Paseo/Coors at the church and Sandia Peak have never appeared on any list as being GMO'd.

and I cannot confirm the Sandia Peak.

However, northeast is pretty usable. The GMO LTE isn't bad at all either as I trail run train county line to Tower 1 or Tower 2 and stay connected to the cell site at the ice skating rink.

That's good! Hopefully they do a lot of upgrades while they're here. I just wish they would fix the tower on Coors and Montano. It's so terrible.

Well when they came through in the late summer, they were able to get all of the far northeast heights GMO's to LTE. I assume that one is a GMO site as well.

Thats’ really interesting... i wonder if that box’s signal goes all the way to my house or not. Probably not.. i’m guessing  I’m about  1/4 of a mile from that intersection.

I haven’t tried. I’ll walk test it the next night as I walk the neighborhood looking at lights. Plus that guy on Luella and Louisiana is legit.

I've been tracking permit under Sprint, crown castle and American tower ... Sprint is finally aggressive.. They should have el paso done with band 41 by summer

I like the optimism but I would slow the boat a little. I have seen sprint apply for more for Albuquerque which I believe B41 but I don't believe it will be enough to blanket the city with B41.

Oh. The map I've seen shows them holding C,B And G Block there. So I thought they could put all the C Block on LTE and keep B Block on CDMA

Yes you are correct about the holdings. However, I don't have the specific date but the C block of 30mhz total was leased to AT&T.  I will have to check the spectrum dashboard if the lease expired and has since returned to sprint.

Edit. Obviously something has occurred as the picture posted is in the C block. Also Band 25 G block is deployed down there so it could be that a sliver of the C block has been returned and subsequently the G block has been expanded.
