  1. NV 1.0 is nearing completion. Whatever. This is just a negative platitude. If you're here just to troll, you will lose your privelleges. It's getting to the point that every one of your posts is a Sprint bash. That would make you a troll.

If you don't like Sprint, why do you hang out in Sprint forums? We can help correct your course if you're lost.

    I agree.

  2. Unfortunately, a 3g acceptance doesn't really mean anything to me right now. If we had new backhaul then it would be excellent, but I think we might just be getting these acceptances because the inspectors decided to come to town. We already knew that almost all the sites around ABQ had hardware upgrades. Here's to hoping we get a Christmas surprise and get a few lte acceptances in the next couple weeks.

Now i do agree that 3g doesn't really help us.  However, it shows they have not left the market.  Anyways, here is to a christmas surprise.

  3. I just looked through the maps and I saw all of the updates. Almost all of the updates were in the ABQ metro (few over in Rio Rancho).  4 of the sites I noted were in progress only a few short weeks ago.

    Also some stats:

-ABQ Market is at 50% complete (not including "In-progress" sites)

-Albuquerque Metro is at 31% complete (not including "In-progress" sites)

-El Paso is at 60% complete (not including "In-progress" sites)

-Santa Fe is at 44% complete (not including "In-progress" sites)

Overall, it seemed slow but they are moving slowly but surely.  Also, there are quite a few NM cities that are complete (i.e., 4 or 5 towers in the town and all have been updated and 3G accepted).

  4. Pojoaque and Tesuque are too far north.  Pojoaque is basically where Robert lived.  No, this is a few miles off the Relief Route due west of Santa Fe.

Surprisingly when i lived in Santa Fe, I lived close to what is the relief route and airport road.  It used to be way out there.  Now it is just a thought.

  5. It is beyond pathetic. I always was told that ABQ was going to be one of the last markets, but I became really hopeful when I found activity last December. I know that when I discovered Ericsson working next to my home near Pojoaque last December 27th, I was shocked. And then with all the activity that started in late Spring with full builds, I thought New Mexico LTE was imminent.

But the backhaul has languished. Plateau and AT&T backhaul areas now live, but Windstream and CenturyLink backhaul areas dragging on.

At least there is a silver lining. By the time LTE starts rolling out, all the physical conversions should be complete with all the hardware in place. So LTE should spread much faster than other markets. But it will be little consolation now. :(

I agree that when they start turning on towers, the LTE coverage will be pretty good. Hopefully, 800 LTE is turned on at the same time. Might as well do it together.  Just my hope.

  6. Remapped channels are a headache for us RF guys.

At the family's vacation home over the weekend, we had one inexplicably broken LNB that prevented reception of the 103° W orbital satellite, which transmits the local affiliate feeds. I had to jury rig a solution with a UHF antenna so that we could try to pick up the Chiefs-Broncos game OTA. But I had to go online to double check that the Albuquerque NBC affiliate, KOB, which has long been known for its position on low VHF channel 4, had moved to UHF with the ATSC transition. Indeed, it had moved its physical channel to UHF channel 26, remapped to virtual channel 4. And my UHF antenna solution worked. But the antenna did not pick up the local CBS affiliate, which had moved back to its high VHF channel 13 position, hence my need to confirm the NBC affiliate physical channel had gone UHF.

Where is your vacation home here in nm?

  7. I'm back to one or two bars.... The pings btw were around 100 but never below. Around 108. I'm by San Antonio and Louisiana. I'm almost sure my tower is the one by Wyoming and San Antonio. I don't know how to post pics?

I swear we work and live right by one another. I live at San Antonio and Louisiana south of San Antonio.  I ran down to one of my jobs this morning at Jefferson and Masthead and I didn't get great speeds but I was getting sub 100 to right over 100 ping.

Went over to my office and Louisiana and I40. For the two towers that have been accepted, I got great speeds and right at 100 ping. Posting pics soon

The bottom ones were at my house, the middle two were at Osuna and San Mateo (this tower was just completed but not accepted yet) and the final ones were at Louisiana and I40.  I have never gotten above 1Mps at work.  crazy. I hope this is the start.

  8. How can it be considered to be even a partial LTE launch in the ABQ region?  I don't know of a single tower connected via LTE in the entire place.

Phones are connecting in Clovis (which was launched) and El Paso. Those cities are a part of the ABQ market.  It is just depressing to see the stats and how far behind Sprint is due to the backhaul not being in place which Centurylink is to blame.

  9. Albuquerque
Status:  Partial LTE Launch/Full Builds Under Way
    NV Sites Accepted = 39%

    LTE Sites Accepted = 10%
Anticipated LTE Launch = Fall 2013 (Clovis launched 10/2013)

    Original Scheduled Completion = Q2 2014
Current Production Rate Completion = October 2014

Centruylink is really screwing us over. It was anticipated that we have a launch by now. It is not looking good by the end of the year.
