  2. My sweeps of the spectrum analyzer disagree with your guesses. An unburdened LTE signal on the spectrum analyzer shows very tall peaks and empty valleys. A burdened one shows very shallow valleys up near the top of the readings near the peak.

I am watching the valleys fill in nicely on VZW Band 4 around here. And with a 70 share, that's to be expected.

Are you trying to convince yourself or Verizon that they don't needs AWS 3? Because you haven't convinced me that they don't or won't. ;)

I agree.  I was looking at a coworkers phone here in the ABQ market where XLTE is only 10x10.  Now it has provided great capacity for the city for Verizon but it was already bogged down.  In Journal Center, he was pulling 10 to 15 megs on band 4. Still great. I wouldn't complain, however, last time Verizon pushed LTE out, it took a while for speeds to come down.  Amazing to see the speeds already decreasing. This was an iphone 5s.

I would be really surprised if they didn't. They have available cash (several billion) after all of the debt issuance to buy themselves.

  3. I think he means that he hopes that the iPhone will have the LTE bands necessary to take full advantage of CCA/RRPP carrier networks.

Bands 4, 5 (covered by band 26) and 12 will be in upcoming sprint phones.  The iphone already has both of these bands. I am not sure if they are in the Sprint variant though.

Edit.  Just checked, band 4 and 5 are already in the Sprint variant. Band 12 is not included in any iphone currently.

  4. Parked in traffic under the new Paseo overpass@ Jefferson I got some pretty amazing data performance.

That area is doing really well. I work in Journal Center smack dab inbetween two towers and it works great.

However, the far northeast heights is really lacking. Three monopole sites are stuck. They each have had the first permit pulled back in May but still no activity. Checking DAILY!!

  5. I've been picking up smr from the site on 528 right by the Ford dealership right as you come into RR.  I have picked up signal from that site anywhere from Bernalillo to Tramway/Montgomery.  I can't wait for smr to be everywhere.

Just to clarify, this is voice right? I just ate at a new place down the hill from there but i doubt my i5 picked it up. never does.

  6. Sorry I don't have a current picture, as I can't really come to a halt here.

This is clipped from Google.  If I recall, this odd site located on the power line @ the eastbound Paseo off ramp leading to Coors is a Sprint site.  Currently it's got new white panels and all sorts of fancy new hardware beneath the panels on the poles.  Looks like more service to the west side shortly.  Getting too used to the LTE on the other end of Paseo that the dead zone once you cross the river is disappointing, hopefully that will be gone soon.

If i remember, that site was 3G accepted in spring.  Just waiting on backhaul like the rest of the market.  Hopefully soon though.
