  1. One thing that has to be kept in mind is at best it was a 30% increase in signal. This is not much of an increase when you think about it. If the claim had been it would double the signal then there would be an issue here. The claim that it would come close to matching b25 should have never been made unless they are comparing it to dense metro tower spacing. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  2. How is the signal strength on your Note 5 at the same location. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  3. Something I have noticed this afternoon was while I was listening to Pandora my phone was picking up b41 3xCA. Two of the carriers it was picking up was as low as -131. As soon as I closed the app the phone dropped back to b25. I didn't run any speed test since I was only seeing what band and signal strength the phone would pick up. My location is also in a b41 fringe area so it has been hard to even pick up b41. My tablet Samsung tab A when using Pandora or Netflix at the same location 90% of the time is on b25. Just an observation after reading your post. Still need much more time to judge the new device. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  4. Sorry about not correcting my post i meant 3xCA. On my S7 I was lucky to get B41 I normally bounced between 25 & 26. The area is somewhat of a hole for Sprint. By no means do I think I am getting much from the 3xCA connection it was nice to see an increase in download speed. This was just my observation today and it lacks anything scientific to back it up. With time we will see if there is more proof to back up Sprint's claims of increased coverage. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  5. Got better speed and signal than I have gotten here in a while. I am also able to get all 3 carriers. Very usable speed where I used to get 3 mbps at best on a single carrier. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  6. In my case I am the one receiving the duplicate texts. Looking through my text it is happening when I receive text from users on sprint, AT&T, Verizon or chase text alerts. But it is only happening when I am in one specific area of town. They are all 5 minutes apart. While it could be your wife's phone it might also be the area of where you are when you receive the text if everyone is on Sprint. So far no one has told me that they are getting duplicate text from me. However it is annoying to get these duplicate text when I am busy working on stuff. Hope you figure it out on your end. 7. Noticed that I was getting these on my phone. Thought it was because of the phone sending it to me, until it happened on a text from my bank. I now believe it is happening because of network upgrades or modifications in my area. Sent from my SM-T587P using Tapatalk
  8. Found this information the other day for the north Spring area. http://www.crowncastle.com/projects/augusta-pines-tx.aspx I have been watching the fiber being dropped and poles being swapped out in the area. They are a little behind on their timeline, but looks like they are trying to catch up. I have also started to have issues with text messages in the area getting duplicated messages 5 minutes apart. While no carrier is specifically mentioned this area has many issues with data connections with Sprint. One can only hope that Sprint will use some of these sites. 9. I can see your issue with those speeds. While I continued to see around 30 Mbps while I was in town I know that isn't everywhere. I have continued to be surprised by the increase in the network speeds and roll out of the network. I have seen many areas hit 90 Mbps and even seen many new B41 connections. These have been in SoCal and hopefully when I move back to Houston I will see the same there. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
  10. Where in Houston are you located? I was back in the north Houston (The Woodlands, Spring & Kingwood) two weeks ago and had no issues with data speeds. I also had no issue when I wasn't driving staying on B41 and spent little time on B26. While this was my experience it doesn't speak for all of Houston or everyone in Houston. The network in these areas have greatly improved over the last 18 months since I moved to SoCal. While network speeds are great at times in SoCal I would have loved to had B26 over the last 18 months and can't wait to be back in an area with it. There is nothing worse than being stuck on 3g or 1x out here. It is easy to for us to pick apart the network but there has been great development in the network. Yes Sprint is behind the others but they are slowly getting it together. Sent from my SGP312 using Tapatalk
  11. Chances are the phone or app is reading the second B25 connection as B26. Both my S7E and M9 do this. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
  12. It appears that they are having some issues or changing up something in the system. The app is showing that I have negative 7 days in my billing cycle. I also am showing 0 of 0 in roaming. Anytime I try to update the information I get an error that it can't connect to the system. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
  13. I have no issue getting HD calls and still have WiFi calling on my accounts but not actively using on the phone. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
  14. Since I switched phones to the edge I seem to be on B41 much more and seeing greater signal strength. Some of this could be switching from the M9 or Sprint could be building out more of the network in my area. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
  15. I have seen this issue before. From every thing I can tell on my phone it is from the second b25 carrier. I have seen this in San Diego, OC, and the IE. Sent from my HTC M9
  16. What will this news do to the broadcasters that are on the fence about giving up their spectrum? Only 1 of the national cell phone companies has committed and one just said they are out. Could this change how much spectrum becomes available? I am asking because I stopped following this month's back when Sprint first said they were evaluating the auction. Sent from my HTC M9
  17. Part of the purpose of re-branding is to convey a new stronger image to the consumer. If Sprint and Softbank both agree that re-branding is needed how does using anything associated with the two help build this image. - Sprint PCS became Sprint - a company that has struggled to deliver by many - Nextel - How many people are still pissed about the purchase of Nextel and how many former customers are still pissed about the shutdown? Many point to this purchase as the reason Sprint has continued to struggle - Clear - The provider Sprint backed for WiMax 4G that never took hold. Sprint & Softbank later purchase the company and once again send out network shutdown notices. I personally listened to my family for 45+ minutes about how upset they were that Sprint bought the company and that they are now shutting down the network. It took away a great home internet provider for my family. - Softbank - The company that bought Sprint promising the turnaround of Sprint. Now the company has admitted that they had lost hope in the company and have talked about selling it off. - Spark - The name for the tri-band network that many still complain Sprint has delivered on. I recently started to think that something with a little more meaning might be needed. I was thinking something like Phoenix Wireless, the rebirth of the company from the ashes of the old. It has nothing to do with all the past companies that have merged into the one they are today. It also conveys a new since in the company and that they have returned a stronger company.
  18. The connection issues with the phone seem to be in southern California. Before the last update I had nothing but issues in the area. I didn't have the dropped calls or abnormal LTE connection issues in Seattle, San Jose, Dallas, or Houston. Since the last update I can keep call connection but spend a lot of time unable to connect to LTE in areas I used to have it in southern California. In Houston two weeks ago I was able to get LTE in areas the m8 couldn't. However there were times the m8 had connection but the m9 didn't. There is still many issues in southern California. My work requires that I travel from the San Fernando valley, to Palm desert all the way to San Diego, and the connection issue is the same in my travels in the area.
  19. I get that it just seemed strange that almost a year ago it was being thrown around because Sprint needed to be ditched for the same image issues. I am a little surprised that so many people agree on Spark since that would be linked so closely with Sprint already. Whatever happened to the idea for renaming the company Spank?
  20. For some strange reason all this seems very familiar. Wasn't this same discussion being had around this time last year?
  21. I switched over to Open World on Friday from the IVR plan while in Mexico. I was worried at first since I lost my connection for the remainder of the day, but when I woke up Saturday everything was back to normal and I could use my phone without issue. I am currently connected to Movistar on a HSPA+ connection. The latency is over 400ms on average with around 2Mbps down and less than 1Mbps up. I have gone through 3 times as much data as i did for the first 4 days I was here since many of my apps now auto update again. When I talked to the rep about the plan she stated that all incoming and out going calls from the covered countries were free. I will not have a chance to test this till November when I am in Honduras for vacation. Hopefully there will be more clarification or user experiences by then. Overall I am happy with the new plan, but I might also keep my wife's phone on the IVR plan just to make sure we are always covered.
  22. I have noticed this over the last few days. I thought it might be my phone.
  23. I have had this issue with the m8 and the m9 in southern California over the last 8 months. I have had it happen few times in Seattle but nothing like what happens in southern California. It has been be very annoying to not be able to use my phones when I need to. I have had it with a strong signal and with a weak signal, but every time it happens it seems that the phone is having trouble picking a band to stay on. I don't remember having this issue in the San Jose area when I have been up there for work.
  24. I flew into SNA today and my phone didn't connect to the Wi-Fi there. It asked for login info I guess there could still be some issues to work out or it is an issue with having an android phone.
