  1. More update on Yuma Rebanding. Again, this is from our IT Dept. Services Impacted: The YRCS / ITS – Radio division will be replacing existing 800 MHz Radio Frequency (RF) site equipment with new 700 MHz equipment at the San Luis Tower Site as per our Re-banding agreement with Sprint/Nextel and the FCC. The Public Safety portable radio voice communications in the City of San Luis and the South Western part of Yuma County will be affected. Users will encounter communication problems starting at 6:30 AM – 8:30 AM, Thursday April 9, 2015. Please make sure to use your mobile radios in the areas affected to support your operational needs, while the YRCS RF replacement is completed.
  2. Received some sad news today from an executive rep at Sprint for Yuma. No updates or upgrades are scheduled until 2017.. That's a bummer
  3. Here is a little insight of what is going to happen in the very near future in Yuma County.. This is from our IT dept email. 4. From what I gathered in reading around the thread here it should be completed by the end of 2015, I know public safety in yuma is moving away from 800 and into 700 already
  5. I might have missed it, but do you have any info on which ones are being added?
  6. Public Safety here in Yuma has a time line of March to move to 700mhz, they are itchy to get Sprint money
  7. Yes, the tower is across the street from the church. The one tower does very little in San Luis, the town is so big and lte is so frágil, even 3g doesn't cover the entire San Luis city
  8. are you out and about the San Luis AZ area? Sprint updated its network enhancement web page and San Luis got a couple data speeds upgrades. Usually that's an indication of LTE lit up. Never mind, confirmed San Luis has LTE now..
  9. update on Yuma market: I've got very little to share with you all today on the Yuma market. So far I've not seen any building permits issued for Spark in the City Of Yuma. I"ve been in contact with Ericsson over an area of Yuma that is just not performing well; pretty much the heart of Yuma. Sprint has identified an issue with a couple of towers and are "working on it". The tower on Ave A and 32nd street has been down since Oct 4th, The one that they identified as having issues is the one over by 18th street and Riley Ave. And as far as Somerton and San Luis, there is nothing on their end as to when they will be lit up..
  10. San Luis and Somerton are on the same boat to Unk. Sprint keeps blaming Centurylink for their lack of backhaul. According to some of the conversations I've had with some sprint executive reps, they can't provide the amount of backhaul requested on their RFP. They don't even have a time line. Both San Luis and Somerton have increased 3G speeds, however both of those cities are serviced by one tower each and it gets maxed out very quick. Lots of people from San Luis are just leaving sprint and going with Clear talk or VZ because of how horrible Sprint is down there..
  11. Sms, I think it is still using outlook servers though
  12. I know our CAD system allows for paging and create groups.
  13. don't get frustrated, sometimes they do that, when it comes back online, you might get better signal and speed.
  14. I work for PS, and I can tell you that the recession hit us hard, just like the rest of the country, no money to move any radio communications away from 800. It us slowly getting better and I can speak for at least our city, we are getting the gears moving again to switch to 700 in the near future.

Factory reset won't fix the issue. htc knows about the app affecting Sprint customers and are "currently working on a software update to take care of that issue". Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
  19. Clear DATA from hangouts, it fixed some of the issues that I was experiencing.
  20. Hopefully it'll move a little quicker, we're in the process of reprogramming our radios to 700 Mhz Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
  21. Its actually Thanx public safety Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
  22. We won't get 800 Amy time soon Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
  23. HTC M8, Galaxy S5, some GS4-T, Nexus 5, iPhone 6's, that's what I can remember off the top of my head Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
  24. Many people have the spark compatible phones now and I'm sure the crews will not upgrade one tower and not the rest. I'll keep an eye out to see what kind of work they are doing. So far all they have done form my vantage point is run wire up to the top and put up brackets. Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
