  1. It's sad/amazing how infuriating it is to not have good data once you get used to it. I started using a prepaid T-Mobile sim in my G2 while I'm at UCLA, and, even though I 'only' get hspa+ because it's the Sprint version of the phone, it is blazing and much more reliable compared to Sprint there. 2. Hangouts is known for its MMS issues, although they were supposedly fixed. Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
  3. But it got better? How much better? Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
  4. I wonder - will this phone version be a world phone/have a sim slot?
  5. I feel like some said midyear they should vacate it in NorCal? A bit later for socal. I am in the same boat as you, waiting for UCLA in socal to get LTE, hopefully followed quickly by LTE 800. Fingers crossed when I come back in September things will be way better. Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
  6. I read somewhere, I think, that public safety is still dragging their feet in NorCal. Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
  7. Is this an eCSFB issue? When you go to no signal? I thought that was the getting kicked off thing.
  8. This. I was back in town for my brotber's wedding and I found tons of places where I would get kicked off towers completely and get no signal until it reconnected to 3G
  9. Is there any reason why we can't access it immediately? Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
  10. What are the changes you're seeing in the network?? Tommy
  11. Really? Really? :heavy breathing: should it be on the next update? Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
  12. As was already mentioned, I have a feeling that this is mostly for Boost and Virgin Mobile customers. S3s still seem to be very popular with that crowd.
  13. Lol Sprint's coverage maps are enormous jokes. I don't know what planet they live on that the maps and their coverage correspond. Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
  14. Clear likely would have gone under and been sold off piece by piece, or it might have been bought by Ergen. Regardless, it would never have remained as it has been. It was an unsustainable, short sighted business model that didn't recognize how much bandwidth consumers actually consume, nor how much that would end up skyrocketing with video and Internet game play and BitTorrent and any number of things they just never thought about. 15. A little off topic also, does this mean that the areas getting PCS LTE are those that are currently EDGE only? If a market already has HSPA+ it most likely won't get PCS LTE? Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
  16. Why weren't they able to do to it before? I thought it markets where that was the case they were refarming HSPA+ to PCS and doing 5x5 LTE.
  17. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ugh this is so annoying there's not going to be anyone left that the duopoly hasn't eaten.
  18. Have you done all the standbys - updated profile and prl? Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
  19. The attitude gets him press and attention in an industry that is stagnant and really stuck in old ways of marketing and thinking. He also acts as a single face of the company which can make it seem more human and 'real' - I'm pretty sure it's all a big act, but it's good for business. Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
  20. Do you think they will? Tommy Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
  21. Just curious, do you guys think that the G2 will get Wifi Calling with this update? What I am really curious about is what makes a device wifi calling compatible? It seems like it is just a question of software, so I am curious why there are specific devices they focus on Thanks!
  22. Sprint is playing it smart with VoLTE - the reality is it isn't a technology that's fully reached maturity at this point, and there are a lot of other carriers (KT in South Korea, Softbank even in Japan) that are deploying that technology. That will allow Sprint to piggy back and use what they learn to make their own roll out a bit smoother. At the same time, I wouldn't take anything re: network operations that Sprint says right now as gospel, with all of the people leaving and with Son's management style, for all we know this might just become a priority again in a few months
  23. I honestly feel totally abandoned. My brother and other family all live in Willow Glen and the area has a few 4G only upgrades and nothing else. It's so frustrating when it feels like yours is one of the only areas that is lagging behind, or rather when all around you upgrades are happening and then... nothing. I am in the same situation at UCLA in LA - everyplace around is upgraded, but the two towers on campus are 3G/800 with no dice for LTE.
