  1. MOAR CORES! lol, seriously though, nice processor. Can't wait for this phone.
  2. Any word on processor yet? Hoping for 8-core.
  3. I agree, don't get me wrong, they shouldn't be using them when customers are around and need help, but I think employees should be allowed to carry their phones on them in case of emergencies. Retailers use policy to take away their employees abilities to live their lives.
  4. Yeah, I've worked for many retailers that have this policy. It is just the company trying to get the most out of their employees....I think its crazy.
  5. You can also use this Android App. Signal Check. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blueline.signalchecklite&hl=en This is the free version, there is also a paid version with more features. Great app.
  6. Good point, bars don't indicate LTE signal strength.
  7. No, NIU's IT Department is also in that building. Along with various other things....
  8. Short tower is the tower that holds Sprint service. I work in the Monsanto/NIU building next door, soaking in the LTE rays.
  9. Everything you guys are describing is exactly what happened in the Chicago market while they were rolling out he new NV cabinets and LTE hardware. I think it is safe to say that work is being done in your areas. You will have spotty reception and possible dropped calls while they are working on towers. Be patient, this is a good sign!
  10. You're most likely connected to the tower by the Hospital and Hyvee. That tower has been active for about a week.
  11. Use Samsung KIES to put on a fresh version of firmware.
  12. Thanks for the feedback guys. I figured as much, but my mind seems to run wild with worst case scenarios when I don't have answers to questions. On another note, I was able to use KIES to factory reset my phone while not having a working screen, just had to get it into download mode.
  13. Well, they're mailing me a phone, and I'm sending mine back to them. Its not a "service while you wait" place, which is why I think they won't take the time, and just throw it into a "parts" pile, but I dunno.
  14. Yeah, its definitely a hardware issue, thank you for the information. I'm just freaking out trying to factory reset this phone before I send it back since my screen won't turn on...
  15. I have a unique problem. Sprint is going to replace my phone because the screen went out. Touch screen still works, just the back-light or whatever won't illuminate the screen, but I have a custom ROM on the phone with a custom recovery. I need to reset my phone because of my personal information mainly, but I'm also concerned that they are going to charge me a ton of money if they find out my phone was running a custom ROM. 1. I'm going to reset my ROM and firmware via KIES, seems to be the easiest way since the screen won't turn on. 2. does KIES reset the binary counter or will it just add another download on to the counter? Either way I have to do this, I'm just looking for a few answers. Ideally my hope is they just scrap the phone and use it for parts, but I don't think that's going to be the case.
  16. Microwave equipment is up all over DeKalb/Sycamore, has been for over 2 months or longer. Only one tower is LTE live, and that was 3 weeks ago when it first went live. Your argument about Microwave = no LTE is not always true. I really have no clue what is going on out here. They are not following the normal template that was used when deploying Chicago and suburbs.
  17. This is being discussed in length here: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/3585-dish-network-proposes-merger-with-sprint-nextel-for-255-billion/
  18. I know when they were in the initial phase of changing equipment in the Chicago market, it was very common to have problems like you guys are experiencing. It will get better over time.
  19. Whats going on in the Osage Beach / Lake of the Ozarks area as far as LTE? I head down there every year in September for Bike Week and was hoping to see some LTE this year.
  20. I'm interested to see how this plays out in Chicago. When I worked at Home Depot, one of my biggest customers the past 3 months has been a tower company that has its office right down the street from our building. The would come in and buy supplies by the truck load. I asked the guy, he said of all the towers they had, they were working on and trying to complete about 5 a week. I wonder if this is PRE-LTE work though...
  21. Chicago has the best market saturation of any market to this point. At this point....the percentage is just a number. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  22. I connected to LTE in Sycamore Illinois at the intersection of Illinois Route 64 and peace road. I mapped a little bit on sensorly. Sent while driving.
