  1. Not much to it, but here is a video from sprint with the G-Nex... its focused on NFC, however. But, at least they have a working model of the phone on here. http://phandroid.com/2012/03/01/google-wallet-updated-sprint-shows-it-off-on-galaxy-nexus-video/
  2. As Josh stated, it looks like the announcement was regarding Sprint's partnership with Chrysler for Uconnect. That is all I could find.
  3. I was reading an argument between two people in a forum about this. They were arguing over whether 2500 mhz penetration improves when going from WiMax to TD-LTE. I don't know enough about it.. anyone know if the penetration/coverage improves based on the tech for the same given frequency (WiMax, TD-LTE, FD-LTE)?
  4. Believe it or not, the palm tree towers in Phoenix fit right in. They are a bit taller then the average palm, but from a distance, you can't even tell its a cell phone tower.
  5. Haha! Love cell phone towers... and for the iPhone.. just read some of my other posts.
  6. Easy stinger... I wasn't "bitching" about the towers at all. Nor do I own a "diamond encrusted iPhone" (not a single iDevice here, for that matter). I was simply showing how they are doing some of the towers in PHX. So, no need to make assumptions and get hostile. PS. They make the "hidden towers" in the form of various other types of trees as well. Perhaps this style would better fit your geographical placement.
  7. Tough choice! If you're happy with your current 4G coverage, the Epic 4G Touch is nice... The Epic Touch is sweet, no doubt, But like the others, I would wait so you can take advantage of LTE, especially if your market is in the first round of Network Vision/LTE deployment. It wont be long.. I think two months will be well worth the wait.
  8. Its funny to me when I see these gigantic cell phone towers. They're not nearly this much of an eye sore around PHX. In fact, many of the new ones you would mistake for a palm tree.
  9. http://phandroid.com...tled-data-pain/ Somebody took the so called "unlimited" to court... and won (for now). Edit: looks like att (they don't deserve caps) is so pathetic they're going to appeal an $850 court ruling against them.
  10. If this money is to fund Clear, 2 Billion just seems like way to much. I thought Clear already had the funding they wanted/needed for their initial LTE plans. Ok.. so maybe their budget is/was a bit off... so give em a few hundred million bucks more... but, 2 Billion? Just seems like a lot. Is there a possibility that there is more to this story then we're hearing? (I'm inclined to believe so.)
  11. great use of tax dollars.
  12. Didn't the last time Dan Hesse spoke at an event like this we got some phone or Network Vision news? Either way, I think its interesting, Sprint doesn't usually say much at WMC, as its geared more towards GSM. Hopefully we'll hear something we don't already know. http://money.msn.com/business-news/article.aspx?feed=BW&date=20120227&id=14832113
  13. I thought I read this is for Tablets (not phones). EDIT "Qualcomm mentions that the S4 Pro will be position for the tablet and netbook market, so those of you who wish to see this in phones may not want to get excited just yet." http://phandroid.com/2012/02/27/qualcomm-announces-s4-pro-msm8969-chipset-with-adreno-320-gpu/
  14. I do think that the screen sizes are getting too big. I think 4.3 is perfect, and 4.5 is a close second. 4.5x" is likely the biggest I will go. (but that's just me.) However, I do think that the simultaneous wold wide release of the phone is good. It sucked having to wait months for the SGSII.
  15. Amen. VZW and ATT are probably against WiFi usage.. The use of such a thing would only cut their profits.
  16. I agree with your point completely, and it sounds good. And actually, Sprint has been trying to do this, I think. I have seen numerous links while viewing my account balance/useage that promote WiFi.. Also, Sprint just made their Sprint TV app available over WiFi (previously it was not). Although no monetary benefits for the consumer (yet), at least they are suggesting/promoting it.
  17. This is very exciting!!... even though it looks like my hometown will not be included in the first round of Network Vision. If these roll-outs go as planed, it sure is going to be a real slap in the face to Clearwire (how a network should be rolled out Vs. ...well.. lets just say Clear was pretty sporadic/unpredictable it seemed). I do think that since Sprint is working with 3 well qualified partners on this (Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, and Samsung), the odds are in Sprints favor. I dont want to jump to any conclusions, but this is looking like a VZ-style roll out.
  18. Just show up to the chat room around 1030 or 1100pm (MST) on Sunday night... that seems to be the routine, anyway.
  19. +ericdabbs.. I like the 3 possible options you proposed. But do you really think that they need that much spectrum designated to voice... especially considering voice can still fall back to the 1900mhz spectrum? Well, I guess the same could be said for 800mhz LTE falling back to 1900. Maybe its just because I use data more, but I think I'd rather see the "One 5x5 LTE carrier and one 1xAdvanced carrier." Guess I am just more of a data user than a voice user, which probably makes me bias.
  20. (I think) You mean 800mhz? They will be using that for Voice and more LTE, I believe.
