  1. It looks like you may be right, 3x the speed of 1xRTT. Im not sure if Sprint is going to use data over 1x Advanced though. I think they are using it for the increased voice capacity (4x that of standard 1x), increased voice quality, and increased coverage, all while using less spectrum (so that more will be available for EV-DO or LTE). This PDF from Qualcomm explains 1x Advanced nicely. http://www.google.co...vzfv-VXwNJtWgdA
  2. I couldn't agree more. Today I read this (Apple saying they have more money than they need), and thought of a couple of your posts. Ridiculous. http://money.msn.com/business-news/article.aspx?feed=AP&date=20120223&id=14824356
  3. Speaking of which, VZ's LTE went down again today. http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/22/verizon-4g-lte-outage-hitting-parts-of-the-us/ And I agree, I cant remember ever experiencing an interruption in service on Sprint.
  4. I cannot get into The Lounge either. It says that there are 3 members online, but when I click on it (via Chrome) I get error message: [#CHAT-02] You do not have access to our chat room.
  5. I think I'm with lrmcgarvey on this. I did have slight memory issues on my EVO with the 1/2gb-1/2gb memory configuration... but with the new phones sporting 16gb of storage + SD card, I'm more than happy... never have storage issues. I've been using Google Music lately, which helps with storage issues dramatically, too. What I'm wondering about in regards to memory in general relates to RAM. With the original EVO, 1/2gb of ram was good.. then we saw 3/4gb pop up... seems we've been stuck at 1gb for a while. It just seems this is a spec that has not really been improved for a while now. I'm just wondering if this spec has remained stagnant because there is really no need for more ram, or if manufactures are just ignoring it. What do you guys think about RAM? I know on PC's it makes a difference. Do we need more RAM on our phones.. or is 1GB fine?
  6. The EVO 4G threads within android forums used to be my go to... but its hit or miss with other phones. The EVO thread is are Very well organized and lots of helpful people. I was totally new to rooting/ROMing at the time, and it was a breeze with what is found there. Guess it has to do with the huge following the EVO has, because the EVO 3D threads @ Android Forums arn't half bad either. Plus, there are two or three mods with evos that really keep it well run and organized... not to mention they're really friendly. If you got an EVO 3D or 4G... this is the place to be.
  7. Sprints network is in a transitional phase (so to speak).. Sprint is upgrading the network. 4G LTE will be taking the place of 4G WiMax and 3G coverage/speeds will also improve (known as Network Vision). As a result, they are most likely waiting to release new high-end phones until the network upgrades are more widespread.... this way the new phones can take advantage of LTE. I know it kind of sucks right now, but there should be some new phones coming in a few months. I think the wait will be worth it! Shouldn't be too much longer.
  8. Welcome Aboard... Glad you're here!
