  1. Network Vision is likely being planned/built, but not fully active. That will probably be a few months away. ALSO, Are you saying coverage/signal strength OR speeds have gotten worse? Since you reference speeds as evidence, I have to assume you are talking about data speed. In which case, speeds can decrease due to network load, which is increasing at an exponential rate, particularly due to the increase in smartphone and wireless data users. Just because speeds have decreased does not necessarily mean coverage has decreased. Network Vision (which is in progress) is designed to handle increased loads (capacity), as well as increase data speeds significantly. In addition, it should also increase general network reception/coverage. I do this as a hobby, and am far from an expert; but, this much I do know. Hope this helps. EDIT: and, (good point AJ!), Network Vision's upgrades are for increasing current 3G and upcoming 4G LTE... Not the 4G WiMax you currently have.
  2. i'm taking a study break and figured I'd post something random, and figure this was the most appropriate place. If you let the google search auto complete "apple is," your first two auto completes are: 1) "Evil" and 2) "a cult" If you let the google search auto complete "android is," your first two auto competes are: 1) "better than iPhone" and 2) "Upgrading" interesting... ok, ill get back to work now, sorry.
  3. It sucks Apple is turning this into a legal litigation war instead of a "who can build the best hardware" war
  4. Here is a little more info re the Epic Touch and ICS. http://phandroid.com/2012/02/17/new-official-ics-roms-leaked-for-samsung-galaxy-s2-i9100-and-samsung-epic-4g-touch/
  5. Yea, they only have those 2 commercials running here two (but i hardly watch tv). Although, I think they have another one or two since they inked the deal as NBA sponsor.. probably only running during games.. and NASCAR starts back soon, so probably another couple new ones to go along with the race season that is about to start. I would think $ is limited now that Network Vision and iPhone are in full swing. But, I would think we should see new/better advertisement when LTE is launched and new phones start showing up in a few mos. Also, I'm pretty sure they just signed deal with a whole new advertising team, right?
  6. In my opinion, the Photon was Sprints version of the Atrix 2, only better cuz it has a nice kickstand! There are rumors of a Motorola Atirx 3, and the Specs are very nice... Quad core, 2GB RAM, HD screen, and a Great battery too! I've always hoped that Sprint would bring another nice Moto device or two on board when they launch LTE. It appears Moto may be the first to answer our requests with Nice batteries. I hope they get a "Photon 2" that is comparable to this. http://phandroid.com...-in-a-good-way/
  7. Arizona > Phoenix > Northgate/North Tower 4-6+MB down, 1-1.3MB up. Observed on multiple occasions.
  8. Hell, why is Sprint wasting all this money on Network Vision? No wonder they're having financial difficulties! All they have to do is send their wireless subscribers a couple cans of this stuff and call it day!
  9. I dont really know much about spectrum, other then the bits and pieces I gain here; however, I came across this article regarding 800mhz spectrum and, of course, Sprint came to mind. Would the discussions in this article have any positive effect on how Sprint uses their 800mhz spectrum? http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/15/fcc-seeks-to-streamline-800mhz-band/
  10. If that's the case, I may skip the first round of LTE phones (I was going to pay full price, so not really a killer for me.) I think I'd rather wait till they support at least 1900 and 800mhz. Assuming Network Vision can get the 3G speeds up to a constant 1 to 2 MB download speed.. I'll have no problem waiting for an LTE phone that can take advantage of both the 1900 and 800 mhz spectrum.
  11. +1 Although I think Sprints 1st generation LTE phones will only support 1900 (and maybe 800).
  12. I would like to see Sprint do better then they are now financially, and hope that Network Vision pans out as planned... I think those two things would make Sprint Great... BUT, if "elite" equates to limiting data at only 2 GB... throttling at 2GB.. and increased plan prices... then no, absolutely not. So, yea, I'd like to see Sprint do better via financial improvement and Network Vision success.. but not necessarily elite, cuz that would likely result in us getting screwed, imo. besides... i love the thrill of pulling for the underdog.
  13. This may be considered a waste-of-a-post... but, ya'll can put me on the anti-apple boat too. I really never liked nor disliked Apple, but the last 6 months or so that has changed, I really do not care for Apple at all at this point. Their repetitive law suits are just ridiculous, and, in my opinion, starting to look childish. Unfortunately, in today's market, if you throw a sticker of a half-eaten fruit on the back of any product, it will sell. I'll pass on (Cr)Apple.
  14. Here is some interesting SGSII (Epic Touch) news. http://phandroid.com/2012/02/13/sprint-page-outs-android-4-0-3-for-epic-4g-touch-coming-soon/

I don't see myself leaving Sprint anytime soon.
