Im certain Sprint will be the ones pushing for this considering they have the equipment deployed to support this, and its probably random licenses scattered in most places making it less useful for other carriers.
That's very true. I figured they would be barred or something from buying more based on how much they are currently sitting on that's unused.

Chairman Pai blogs about items on the May agenda for the FCC. Among them, an item about 2.5 GHz band licensing.
- Tripcool. If some does indeed get auctioned, I wonder if Sprint would be allowed to participate given the amount they already have and certainly haven't used.

The thing i would be upset about is : we are a few days into sprints Q1 ( higher capex spending maybe 6,7,8 billion ) and they (sprint ) haven't even been giving a chance to execute and now merger talk are on again.... As Masa Said when he first entered the US market .. I see a vision for sprint, but it wasn't just sprint alone .. in almost mid 18 .. if sprint wants to have a competeing Network late 2019 early 2020.. that will cost a premium dollar that at the lowest spending 12 billon over 24 months wont solve .. SoftBank would need to pour in money to help sprint get over that humb

Was it confirmed that the talks were official or here say rumors? I haven’t looked into it besides what hit yesterday. if Son doesn’t want Sprint alone, then why would he go the way and fold them up into T-Mobile. Plain and simple the Sprint brand would be dead. A partnership makes more sense with another company that can complement and benefit Sprint. If Sprint goes, prices are going up.

I would rather for Sprint and T-Mobile not to merge. Sprint however could use a partnership with a cable company. I just feel like Tmo and S merging is to bail sprint from building out their network and Tmo a bailout for 5G. How it currently stands, T-mobile would be the Sprint of 5G. I would say let them keep beating down the doors of the FCC to have that auction for that high band spectrum. They’ve grown arrogant over the past few years. Sprint has the tools in hand for 5G and making their network really rival the big two but as we all know on here the execution with Sprint has not been the best.

See...now this is when I just put my hands up with Sprint and there “network” plans if this indeed true.
Sprint will probably bend more to T-mobile this go around.

Did Sprint or Mobilitie get fined for something like this before a year or so ago?

Look like Verizon gets to keep all the MMWave spectrum that T-Mobile was trying to make the FCC block
http:// https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.mobileworldlive.com/featured-content/top-three/fcc-refuses-to-block-verizon-mmwave-licence-transfer/amp/
So now what’s next T-Mobile? But I believe they have some but it’s in different places if I’m not mistaken. Sprint has their high band for 5G, ATT has theirs as well as Verizon.

Sounds T-Mobile is start to stomp their feet and pout about Verizon buying up Straight Path and their Nationwide MmWave.
It’s not FAIR!!! Lol!!!

T-mobile isn't fooling around
Neither is Verizon. I’ve seen atleast 2 towers get built in the area.

If they get it all right this year they might make comeback like tmobile , but then they still got to sell the network improvements.Fix reputation .
Yeah, the network is only one piece. The network could be better than Verizon but no one will care because of the reputation the Sprint name has attached to it. Sending out devices to top reviewers, or even a test drive like program would possibly need to be done to show people that the network is on par or even better than their competitors.

Yet TMO did what Sprint should have done.

Yea. But I have to wonder. Even with 5G will anyone really care to much and the focus will still be on Verizon and T-Mobile going head to head?

Sprint definitely has work to do but they are improving. However, they should set their sights on being a AT&T competitor based on these results.

Here are the images of that tower of Livingston and Courtright. It’s definitely not a Sprint tower.

Did some digging for Columbus permits to see if I could help. 3603 Livingston Ave sound right? If so:
"DESCRIPTION OF WORK: NEW MONOPOLE CONSTRUCTION FOR CELL SITE OF T-MOBILE." (Emphasis mine.)
- TripI just checked on Google Maps and that looks to be right from when I saw it in that parking lot in passing. I can swing by there today and grab a pic.

I thought Charter said they were cool with their agreement with Verizon and was planning on using them for their MVNO (whenever that will be). I think for Charter to get in bed with Sprint they would need to see some major progress with the network. I think it would be a great move honestly. I use Spectrum for my home wifi and its great to get 100 down for $44 a month. But if we are all honest, even though Sprint has come a long way they just do not have the greatest track record. I do however hope that is a thing of the past starting next month.

There’s a tower that’s been built in Columbus in Livingston and courtright. The antennas are mounted and they are small. This area is probably the most dense on Sprints Network. I hope this is the beginning of my calls connecting sooner than 7 blocks away from my home. Can anyone confirm who owns this?

I saw that tower maybe 2 weeks ago passing by. It was very odd looking only because it was places smack dab in the middle of that parking lot. I do know that I've seen a few Verizon towers go up in Columbus as of late but the antennas are placed very close to each other paired off.
You could also post your comment in the Columbus forum on here.

I would hope so. They did come out and say that they were going to spend upwards to 6bil this year.

Sprint isn't one to talk given that there network is still the slowest. Not always true but on average it is.

Yes its getting better but still a ways to go. What did stick out to me and Sprint falling on their face was this:
"The watchdog also said Sprint "did not provide a reasonable basis for its claims that Sprint Unlimited provides a superior overall experience than that of Verizon Unlimited."
-
Sprint told to stop bashing Verzion
NAD came at Sprint about their ads towards Verizon. That ad is old and I don't even recall seeing it in months.

They are only using part of the 600 megahertz they have for 5G.. T-Mobile only has 10 megahertz I'll 600 megahertz for my area. LAA may be rolled out here sooner. I'm not totally sure.
Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk
If they do roll it out soon that’ll be interesting.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I'm talking about LAA... I don't see that as a 5th generation upgrade.
Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk
I thought they said they were using their 600, mmwave and LAA for their 5G buildout? But because of what they have it will be hotspots around the city (high traffic locations) I could have misheard them.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
It's not being deployed Nationwide?
Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk
I thought tmobile came out and said that their 5G for now will be hotspot areas in cities.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Neville basically states it's going to be mmWave hotspots and 600MHz for now.
So I’m guessing the mmwave will be in high populated areas like malls and arenas and the 600 will be deploying like they been doing but with some aggregation and whatever else?
It’ll be interesting to see what Sprints 5G is going to constructed like.
