  1. yes i feel you are correct...because they need to raise prices to get money to help invest in their network....sprint cant continue these low prices...they wont be able to survive unless they raise prices to continue to produce a positive cash flow....

Exactly. I think they will raise prices to be slightly more expensive to T-Mobiles current prices. Even today, people aren’t as price sensitive as they once were because if that was the case,Sprint would have more net adds than what they are currently pulling. Pricing keeps the other 3 in check but it’s a two fold situation. The other 3 stay competitive price wise but Sprint kinda gets the short stick. If the cost is not a huge difference, why not go to a stronger network. At that point, Sprint gets overlooked.

This network investment they have a lot riding on it, a lot of convincing to potential customers that Sprint is the carrier to be work. But when that time comes, will people really care?

  2. Question about the unlimited data promotion for $100 for five lines. I had an online rep try to get me to switch my 40GB share plan to unlimited. I currently have 5 lines. Said I could get the promotion price. I told him it would save me about $11 a month until the promotion ends March of next year then the price would almost double. He said Sprint should have another promotion by then. I asked if he could guarantee I would be eligible for the offer. He said I would. I guess my question is for those who’ve been on the promotion long enough has anyone let it expire and have to pay more or did you get on another promotion price?

Hard to say. Sprint is planning to raise prices next year when their 5G network comes around first half of 2019. So if you get on this promo, you’ll be subject to whatever price increase that happens next year. Sprint is the cheaper of the other 3 but this will probably be the last time we see these kind of prices with Sprint.

  3. Looks like T- Mobile has changed their tune when it comes to 5G and will now have 5G the first half of 2019 instead of 2020. I think this was a result of Sprint and them really kicking things into gear and putting to use that spectrum that they once praised saying it was ideal for 5G. Too, I'm sure T-Mobile will be dammed if they ever let Sprint outdo them in something.  Also too, Verizon and AT&T will have some form of 5G this year. So waiting until 2020 would make them late to the game. I'm really interested to see how this 5G will go for T-mobile since they are using 600 and whatever MMWave spectrum they have.

    5G Coming in 2019

T Mobile did put out a news thing with a piece of info "78% increase in data". So we can extrapolate the data used to around 7.1 TB used.
    2016 2.1TB used
2017 almost 2x usage growth during game
2018 78% more data from Top Network Facts image

Sprint reported they have 9.7 TB of data used. That’s damn good.

  5. http:// https://www.mobilesportsreport.com/2018/02/verizon-sees-18-8-tb-of-cellular-data-used-at-super-bowl-52/

Taking the article at not 100% but Verizon said they used 18.8TB, AT&T 7.2TB and Sprint has not given numbers just yet. What was interesting was T-Mobile saying they were not releasing the total data usage from the game. That’s really not like them to boast. For them not to release they numbers makes me think

    1. The total usage was low because their customers were enjoying the game and off their phones.

    2. The usage was low because the network was really struggling.

  6. Sprint has their work really cut out for them this year. They are making a lot of big claims with what they plan to do this year and next. I just hope they follow through and either meet or exceed. Given their track record with promises, I can believe most are taking it with a grain on salt until proven wrong.

That map was accurate, it was released internally. It was accurate at the time. Of course, many more sites have been added to network plans since that map was leaked.

I agree,  and some of that green is already documented. There's alot of planned towers in the Dakotas. So I think the coverage expansion has been altered some since then.

The My Sprint Mobile App is finally getting the love and attention it deserves! Marcelo mentioned it on the Call and it’s in the presentation.

4.4 Stars on the iOS App Store. Good stuff!

The App fits with Sprint’s priorities of taking cost out of the business and improving efficiency.

The Sprint app already supports FaceID.

  9. It seems as though my magic box has regressed. My speeds get below 1mbps but at 6am can pump 80 down. When I got the box it wasn’t this way. Crazy thing is I have excellent signal according to the box. Starting to think about moving the box. I may try a new location that may have a slightly less than excellent signal to see what happens. If that doesn’t work then the site is too congested on b41.

Yea, Allegedly they dropped the story first (Saw this via a google search of 5G)and then Engadget re-hashed it.  Honestly, who knows where this Govt. 5G talk is going to end up.

I did get a small chuckle that Recode were the only ones reporting this.

  11. Hmm I don’t know how I feel about this but I’m definitely wanting to hear Sprints stance on this. So far they’ve been pretty much in agreement with government changes. I would think with a government built network, it would decrease competition and carrier profit. I do think 5G is hyped up more than what it is and we still haven’t hit maturity peak with 4G.

I view Marcelo the way I view John, brought in to perform a task and then are to move to the next mission. Plus Son really likes Marcelo and it shows because MC is on numerous boards for the companies SB has bought parts in (which will probably be MC's next move). Once Sprint is really stable and is killing the market, that's when Marcelo will leave and a long term CEO will take over.
