I'm guessing now that the merger is off they realize they're gonna have to match T-Mobile's huge-ish rural-ish buildout over the last year.

True. I guess the good thing here is they already have b26/b25 ready to go for those rural areas is just getting it on those towers.

Sprint has their work cut out for them. I feel like this is the last straw as far as people taking Sprint for their word. I do believe that Sprint can build a higher quality network than T-mobile.

It is more insightful than these tend to be.

-$5-6 billion may be on the low side on CapEx going forward.

-Large push back towards traditional towers.

-Going back to the 25/26/41 on every macro tower where possible plan.

Wow this makes me extremely happy.

Lets hope they keep to this and execute as fast as possible. Well Since the merger didn't work, Sprint has to prove everyone wrong now so they gotta put fire under their butts and build out and dense up the network.

Ordered my 256 GB Space Grey X on Wednesday the 1st from Sprint with a ship date of 11/14. It is on the truck for delivery today! Not bad Sprint!

Congrats! I think you'll love the X. I'm enjoying mine and its refreshing new way of using an iPhone with the swipe gestures.

  4. Wow! That is pretty awesome! And exactly what I was hoping for! Cable company partnership. Didn't even think Altice was in the conversation. Altice (cablevision\optimum fame) has a pretty great track record.
    This is pretty epic.

Wow and this is probably why Sprint said they will go forward as a standalone. They get to use Sprints network in exchange they help beef up the network.

  5. Except if he wanted to dump Sprint he would have today.

It seems none of us have a clue here.

    Exactly or on Monday.

If this man is wanting more control it clearly shows that he sees something in Sprint and is I guess changing course instead of just unloading them onto someone. I still stand behind Sprint being a serious force and can easily leap past T-Mobile on network quality and give atleast AT&T a run for their money if executed right with the network.

  6. I have 3 64gb Silver models coming tomorrow. Two were sent on accident.

I opted not to buy the 256 only because I have a 128 7 plus and only used 50gb. Even with that I have crap load of screenshots and apps I never even used after downloading them. So the 64 should be fine. Especially since I can delete a screenshot as soon as I send it off.

When WSJ says Sprint will walk away and invest heavily in its network instead the skeptic in me thinks this is a power play for a better price from DT

By Sprint saying they will instead invest heavily into its network as a power play does what exactly? I don't think that will scare DT into bending being that Sprint is a distant 4th player. It's almost laughable and DT saying "Yeah ok."

I guess we will found out what happens tomorrow!

SoftBank to Drop Effort to Merge Sprint With T-Mobile

Sprint said to be planning significant investment in its network

Wow. I can't read the article due to subscribing. Where there any good tidbits about this "significant investment in the network?"

welp... lets see what happens tomorrow.

This has really turned into a H.S. relationship. If this holds true, these two just need to part ways for good. Sprint just find a cable company or buy out US Cellular if Son is that bent on merging Sprint with something.  OR just buy out the other 20%, and run Sprint the way you envisioned it as it it was merged with whoever.

  10. I went insane as I was NOT planning to upgrade my iPhone this year. I have an 7 plus 256 matte black. I succumbed to the preorder day excitement on the 27th and first tried to order on X on Apple’s site could not due to an incompatible plan so I tried Sprint. I still have 11 months on my commitment ( yes I still can use contracts, SERO P )

I ran into a credit card fraud issue in the wee hours of the morning so I had gotten control of myself and headed to bed. I cleared up the fraud issue early in the morning.

I went to Sprint’s site and ordered an Space Gray 256G X at full price at 740am. Not sure what I can do with my 7 Plus as it is locked till contract is over then it’s fully mine.

The kicker is I got a ship notice from Sprint on Saturday with a delivery date of the 30th.

I don’t believe the delivery date as I checked UPS and they have the launch date quote of the 3rd.

I never thought you could get this one this fast.

Now I need to get a case this week!

I got one better. I placed a upgrade when preorders opened and the order said it went though but didn’t so I then placed a new order online and $20 for both orders got desiccated. Called in the morning around 8 and they couldn’t see the second order so I placed a third order and that one went through. I got many emails about the first two orders no going though. So last night I got 3 emails saying my 3 orders shipped. I have 3 iPhone X’s coming on Friday.

  11. Looks like they finally ran out of their initial stock. Any orders past 5 PM today for both 64GB models will now ship by November 14.

That’s still good in comparison to the other carriers and Apple. But we all know why. I’m glad to see the dates finally slip.

  12. In this Sprint/TMobile merger rumor mill, it seems there is a breakup benefit...
For Sprint.  They would get favorable roaming rates.  So Sprint would basically get TMobile's added coverage / use of B71.  Hopefully if this ball does start rolling and regulators do not approve it, this roaming agreement would be pseudo-native. [emoji3]

Who doesn’t Sprint roam on here in the US? They will soon be known as the roaming carrier.

  13. Maybe the slow website put off a lot of people. Combine heavy website traffic with an already slow website full of layers on top of layers and you got a recipe for a disaster. With most of their stock still showing as shipping by Nov 3, I hope they don't get slaughtered by journalists.

I feel as though they need to be called out on this. I’m sure the other carrier had problems and that’s to be expected but Sprint was just on a whole other level with the maintenance, over 2k orders got cancelled in the system and whatever else that went on. That’s the reason why shipping times are still good over at Sprint. They really have to do better. They really have to do something with that site ASAP. That’s ridiculous with the amount of past layers and looping.

  14. Was able to place my order via Sprints site but didn’t get a confirmation number even in the email. Who knows. ??‍♂️

    Also,

Why in the world is Sprints app in maintenance at a time like this? Boy these Sprint devs have to be some of the worst. I still don’t understand as to why the website has so many skins from over the years. Very clunky site. I understand that they trying to save money but never short change your product such as the website.
