  1. I have double checked my SVDO capabilities several times since getting the GS3 and EVO LTE. However, I really don't have the need for simultaneous voice and data, for the most part. Robert via Samsung Galaxy S-III 32GB using Forum Runner
  2. Go to your Debug Engineering screen. Open up your phone dialer, enter ##DEBUG#. Then go to your 1x Engineering menu. In there you will see Band. If it says CDMA PCS, then you are 1900MHz. If it says Cellular, then you are on 850MHz. I've never seen my EVO LTE on 800 SMR, but I imagine it will say SMR or 800 SMR on band if it is on 800MHz Channel 476. 3. Figured you were picking a fight with me. A few people have done that today. Seemed par for the course. Robert via Samsung Galaxy S-III 32GB using Forum Runner

  8. It's too bad they didn't get Clearwire to focus on WiMax deployments in Sprint markets where they are so deficient, like Ft. Wayne. Robert
  9. Because Ericsson has a contract to do this work and they should have done it quite a long time ago. Ericsson has had a contract to manage the network since 2009. The fact that Sprint is doing work on Network Vision in the future does not relieve Ericsson of their contract obligations. It's better to have a few months of 3G improvements before NV then not at all. Robert
  10. Sites shown at network.sprint.com show maintenance upgrades that are being performed by Ericsson as part of their National Network management contract. They only are related to voice and 3G network maintenance. Not LTE deployment or Network Vision. Robert
  11. Thanks! Does it seem like it would be coming from the site on the roof of Northwest Hospital, or more like the monopole just north of the Giant grocery store on Milford Mill Road? Robert
  12. I'm not optimistic about any launches before October 1st at this point. Robert
  13. When you get a chance, post some screen shots and the nearest cross streets. Thanks! Robert
  14. Sprint LTE-1900 Coverage Map of Rome, Georgia as of 8/7/2012 And for comparison, here is Sprint's overly optimistic LTE coverage for the area. I used actual Sprint data for tower heights and figured range (downtilt) for sectors based on using 2/3 of the distance to the next adjacent tower. And since we were able to have our writer AJ Shepherd confirm the coverage on our St. Joseph, MO map, I feel pretty good about our attempt here. Robert There is an interactive version of our Coverage Map in our Sponsor section. You can read this thread for more information about how to become a S4GRU Sponsor. 15. If you were using an EVO LTE, you would have to constantly be cycling through CDMA only and CDMA/LTE mode. It seems when left to its own, it will not pick up a passing or fleeting LTE site. Robert
  16. At first I was thinking that was impossible. But then I typed in Dick's Sporting Goods in Nashua into Google Maps and I see it is right at the border. So likely the signal came from a completed site within Massachusetts. Robert
  17. No. These sites aren't complete. They are just being worked on. Expect them to come and go, just like all the early LTE signals in other markets. They will likely be blocked when complete too. I don't read anything into Sprint's reported numbers. They don't provide anything to back them up. They just say it. I believe what I see. Robert
  18. S4GRU Sponsors can view our NV Sites Complete thread, which is updated every week to show completed sites. For more information about how to become a S4GRU Sponsor, you can visit this thread. Robert
  19. I don't expect any live LTE signals to stay permanently until market launch. Robert
  20. Did you find service in an additional Joliet location than the two live sites shown in our update this weekend? http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/517-nv-sites-complete/ Robert
