  2. I had this issue once in our device testing. I think I turned off mobile data and then back on. I actually think it happened with the GNex once too. Robert via CM9 Kindle Fire using Forum Runner
  3. Use your LTE Engineering screen, monitor signal strength. If you are near a Sprint site with a very strong signal, then you found one. You can use our site maps mobile in your device. Robert via CM9 Kindle Fire using Forum Runner

  6. I report it, I don't decide. If I had my way, Sprint would not block any complete LTE sites. However, if history is our guide, they probably will in many instances. My guess is once they have enough sites in the market, they will do a prelaunch. Kind of like what they did with Chicago and Boston. Robert
  7. After further review...it is on a Sprint Call Center. I was told about 2-3 months ago that they were going to start installing LTE in all Sprint buildings. So this is not surprising at all. I'm going to be watching to see if the Albuquerque call center gets LTE any time soon! Craig, the next time you are in Centennial, you should drive by and see if you get a LTE signal at the front door. Robert
  8. Yeah, that must be a GPS error. The Colorado market just finished design. Seems almost impossible for it to be starting. Unless it is like the Cupertino anomaly in the South Bay market. Where a few cells were intentionally deployed, but the market hasn't started. But that was for Apple. Robert via CM9 Kindle Fire using Forum Runner
  9. If October 16th is accurate, then it is likely a pre launch...just like Boston and Chicago. Robert via CM9 Kindle Fire using Forum Runner
  10. Do you mean CDMA/LTE versus LTE only? What you've said doesn't make sense. Robert via CM9 Kindle Fire using Forum Runner

  14. You can tell visually by looking at a site whether Network Vision upgrades have been done or not done. All the visible hardware for 3G and 4G go in at the same time (like panels, RRU's and base cabinets). So you cannot tell more than the physical work has been completed. You cannot tell whether the 3G or 4G is ready based on looking at a site. But I can tell you (and as you can see on our maps), the Kansas market only has 4G improvements live so far at their Network Vision sites. Robert
  15. There is no way to tell whether only 3G upgrades are live over LTE based only on visual inspection. However, no sites in the Kansas market have their 3G upgrades live yet. Only LTE. So this is not a factor. Robert
  16. In our Waco FIT testing, it would connect on its own about 25% of the time. However, it was always the last device to find LTE on its own. Robert
  17. Yes, just call customer service. They will likely give you the run around and tell you the site is not active yet. Just be persistent and say that the area is in their coverage map, you have confirmed that the site is visually complete, and you have confirmed with S4GRU. Also give them the Site #. When you have the Site #, they know you are not some fly by night idiot. Insist on opening a ticket. Without a ticket number, you have nothing. Robert
  18. Bummer. It's the reason why I'm avoiding custom ROM's for awhile. Until Sprint LTE is more mature and developers live in coverage areas and try them out themselves. Robert
  19. Did your speeds improve? Although WiMax is completely separate from the Sprint network and not affected by Sprint's Network Vision/LTE deployment, there has been a lot of reports from people out there that WiMax speeds are improving. I have speculated that perhaps Clearwire is upgrading backhaul to their sites to be prepared for LTE deployment late this year and next year. Robert
  20. The best way to tell which site you are connected to is to use our Site Maps, then monitor your LTE signals in the LTE Engineering screen. If you get a really strong LTE signal near a site, you have confirmation. In this thread it talks about how to get to your Engineering screen, and what is a good signal: http://s4gru.com/ind...ignal-strength/ Sites go live all the time before they show up on our maps. Our maps are only updated once per week, and the list that gets uploaded comes directly from Sprint. It includes only sites that Sprint has accepted from the OEM. There are some sites that the OEM's have turned on for testing prior to having Sprint inspect and approve them. You may have found one, if you can confirm it is live but not yet on the map. Robert
