  1. Next time it happens, call the EPA. When EPA enforcement arrives, walk over and eavesdrop and see if he tells the officer the same thing. I stopped at a Tmo site a few months ago and asked to see his permit. The foreman had a very good story planned explaining why he didn't need one. Since I work for the State, I knew he was full of crap. I pulled up the State website that showed him that he needed an electrical permit for his work. Then his story changed. Plausible deniability. 2. Sounds like a problem connecting ton the Bayamon switch/core. It sure would have been nice if USVI had it's own MSC. Do you have a link to the article? I would love to read it. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  3. In the State of New Mexico there are about twenty sites with upgrades physically complete and about another dozen in progress. However, the sites complete are awaiting high speed backhaul. They can fire up each as they get connected to new backhaul. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  4. They are all around Lake Geneva area. I'm having problems updating the map. Google Drive is having problems. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  5. Yes. Oswego is in the Upstate NY Central market. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  6. It is true that Tmo EDGE is much less burdened than Sprint 1x. Since voice usage on TMo EDGE is going down drastically every month. However, most of the time when I fall off Tmo 4Gs, I'm in an area where Sprint 3G is running 1-2.5Mbps. So the difference between Sprint 3G on highway and rural areas and Tmo EDGE is ten fold plus. 7. Final day of bidding on the iDEN Countdown Clock. If you were holding out to bid at the end, don't forget! Robert
  8. In S4GRU device testing, the GS3 scored better in RF performance than the old generation EVO and much better than the EVO LTE. However, it is possible that it could be an issue with his specific GS3. If he is figuring his signal strength on bars alone, that is problematic. Bars are poor indicators of exact signal strength as each OEM configures what they mean differently. So 3 bars on an EVO may equal one on a GS3...etc. He should get an app called SignalCheck created by a S4GRU member. It will tell him exactly what his signal level is on each device. Most likely as pointed out above, the GS3 has 800MHz capability. If they recently deployed 800MHz service at a distant site, it could cause him to experience what he has. The more distant 800 could have a weaker signal than nearby 1900. Also calls handing off between 800 and 1900 sites are more likely to drop. A PRL update may help because the newest PRL prioritize 800 and 1900 the same. Some of the previous Android PRL's prioritized 800 higher. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

  10. Pin drop. I was wondering myself about that. Not sure when that blip showed up in Dover, but if it was during race week, it might have been a nascow. We still have not seen one LTE site accepted in Delaware. I thought maybe the Sensorly blip was a testing site and we would see it show up on an acceptance report, but it never appeared. Is there a NASCAR event there? Your hypothesis sounds good to me. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  11. There is only one site in Athens with LTE live. That's correct. It was accepted months ago. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  12. oh yeah for sure! I couldnt get into engineering mode whike driving but I got varying speeds from the swme spot. One was around 7 and the ln jumped to 28 . It is still being tested out maybe. But it is fast loading pages. The sites in Athens were accepted some time ago. They are no longer testing. If you jumped from 7 to 28Mbps in the same exact location, then your device either changed sites or to a different sector at the same site. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  13. The problem is that my question was sarcasm and did not warrant a "straight answer." Did you not see the winking smiley? Additionally, you pulled a three month old post completely out of context. Go back and read my quote of lilotimz's post. Or, better yet, read all of lilotimz's post two above mine. AJ Aj, I haven't been around these forums much lately, however, I do drop by from time to time. I was directed to this topic via a link on the android Central Forums from a member there . So even if the post 3 months old or not I don't See it as a problem?I just read and replied. upon your sarcasm as you put it. Robert, My reply was based on What happens when the lte here Drops out. Maybe it's not the same as how it is in New Mexico? But that's how Tmobile has it setup here. And if it's just an overlay? Why do I still get hspa when lte drops out? Wouldn't they both drop out and put me back on edge? If it was just an overlay? Ever since lte went live here about a month ago? I don't seen 2g edge anymore. Currently It is only 4G lte or 4G. Signals and speed are pretty good where ever I have been so far. Even 2 stories underground at work where our company nextel never did aquire a signal nor my evo with Sprint. Just to let you know... Sprint in Hawaii is still very, very, very slow. Hope that all changes when softbank takes over though. Sent from my Coconut Wireless HTC One Since LTE is not complete being built out on Oahu, you will likely drop to HSPA+. Urban Hawaii is an anomaly and not like the rest of America. Tmo probably doesn't even have EDGE or GPRS only sites there. However, for the rest of us, leaving the city limits on Tmo means sub 30-100kbps speeds. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  14. Exactly. Edge of service with no load, 7Mbps sounds about right. The same spot with a well burdened sector would likely be 2-3Mbps. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  15. Well I believe it should, But in athens the speeds ranged form like 7-almost 30, then the ones around 1 or so were 3g. I mapped out some of the athens LTE when I was there the other night. It is limited to inside the loop, and only one tower to my knowledge is LIve, and it is downtown. They had some roads blocked off so I couldn't get closer. And I even heard that Athens wasnt supposed to even get it for awhile, That it was a mess up, and they went ahead with the buildout 7-30Mbps is not inconsistent. LTE is very signal strength dependent. You likely were connected to the same tower with both speed tests. One with a stronger LTE signal and one with a weaker signal. Sprint advertises their LTE as 6-8Mbps. If you get 7 or better, then you're doing good. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  16. Could be testing. If the site was accepted by Sprint today as complete, we will know tomorrow morning. Thanks for the report and welcome to S4GRU. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  17. There been a lot of Sprint complaints in this thread. Please knock it off as it is a violation of our posting guidelines to continue to rant about Sprint. We do not host Sprint complaints. We will not beg you to stay. If there is a better choice for your needs you should make it. But we don't want to hear about it. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  18. Much ado about nothing. Let Charlie have his waiver, and go back to Denver and lick his wounds. Robert
  19. Deployment is active throughout the Milwaukee market. More and more sites will go live every week. 23. I am honestly not sure how Sprint and Clearwire view a Sprint sub whose data use is basically 100 percent on a WiMAX protection site. That is not exactly roaming, but it is not exactly native either -- Sprint does not depict WiMAX protection site coverage on its maps. Maybe Robert will chime in with some insight, as he has researched WiMAX protection sites extensively. AJ Sprint treats Clearwire WiMax data as completely native with the customer (even Protection Sites) and it counts against your data totals. You will see it appear on your bill as Sprint 4G data usage. So when Sprint figures your data usage roaming, it will put it as a ratio against your native including WiMax data. However, voice usage will be your problem. Sprint will also ratio your voice usage to roaming usage. I think you'll get a letter in 60 days unless you stop using roaming voice. And even if you stop using roaming voice, there is still a good chance they'll send you a letter anyway, as they may see you are never connecting to a native 1x signal. It will be interesting if you're able to fly under the radar. Please keep us posted. This will be useful information no matter how it shakes out. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  24. I think its a mistake to release these WP devices right before Tribands are supposed to come out. I was planning to buy the first WP8 device, but the timing is poor. No way I'm plopping down good money on a new device at this time. Probably most consumers are completely clueless about such things. But I'm not. I will instead wait until I can get one for under $200 on EBay. I shouldn't have to wait long because I don't think these will be very popular. Also, WP8 needs to be on a flagship device. Just my two cents. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
