It already has been replaced by today's update. Robert Links: Comments regarding this thread, NV Sites Complete Map
  2. In the Sponsor section, you can tell by looking at the NV Sites Complete map and seeing the sites in your market with 3G upgrades accepted. For more info about how to become a Sponsor, visit this link: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1195-information-about-s4gru-sponsorship-levels-and-how-to-become-a-sponsor/ Robert
  3. Typically 3G is good on sites where LTE is active, because they share the high speed upgraded backhaul. 3G tends to be bad at sites where LTE is not active, because they are typically on legacy backhaul. Robert
  4. The issue is CSFB. Your Triband device only has one radio in it and needs CSFB to be active in order to stay connected to LTE. Your wife's GS3 has two radios in it and does not need CSFB. Ericsson is installing eCSFB now at sites around San Antonio. When the sites you connect to have Ericsson eCSFB working on it, your device will be able to access LTE without any problems. Until then, a Triband device can only connect to LTE on a non CSFB site by going into LTE Only mode. You can learn how to go into LTE Only mode with a G2 by going to the G2 users thread. But in LTE Only mode, your phone will not make or receive phone calls. But you could do that in those times when your 3G data will not work at all. Robert
  5. But we know the site was not likely proximate to his location with a really weak signal like -140dBm RSRP. Robert
  6. Yes, that's it. Sounds like we may have CA capable devices before we will have any CA deployed. Robert
  7. He needs to be doubting it. I wonder if we can help him draw the conclusion faster? Robert
  8. Service in Boulder has to be awful right now. I would wait at a minimum for the Boulder cluster(s) to get 3G accepted and sites starting to go live with LTE before moving to Sprint. That's my two cents. Robert
  9. If you get a Nexus 5, do not buy it from Tmo. It will not work on Sprint. But if you buy it from Google or Sprint, it will work on Tmo too. Robert
  10. In my mind, when execs start selling stocks en masse, it's because there is a big shake up planned/foreseen or the stock is perceived to be at a high with no prospects to go higher in the near future. But I am no market guru. Robert
  11. Yes, I wouldn't reject a windfall payout from Sprint execs. But they haven't given us a dime, unless it was incognito and not exceeded the cost of a Premier Sponsorship. We have never to date received any single donation larger than $100, ever. Robert
  12. If someone posts a screenshot of a slow speed test and asks a relevant and constructive question and posted it in a place where it would be 'on topic'...then that would be OK. However, complaints with slow speed tests will be removed as a violative post. Robert
  13. Definitely not throttling. Sprint only throttles video streaming traffic for people with My Way and Framily plans to 1Mbps, and only when the network is overburdened. Sprint does not throttle traffic otherwise. Reduced LTE speeds otherwise most likely are from increased airlink traffic, work on sites or the LTE core or a temporary backhaul problem. But Band 25 is starting to slow down on busier sites. Reno and Carson City will start getting additional LTE carriers in Band 26 soon. This band will have faster speeds (because of less traffic) and the signal will travel farther and penetrate buildings better. Unfortunately, the iPhone 5 doesn't support B26. Only the iPhone 5s/5c and Android Triband devices support B26. The Truckee Meadows will also start getting B41 sites probably next year, which will have much faster speeds. But currently no iPhone supports B26. Only Android Triband devices do. But it is largely believed the iPhone 6 will be Triband. Robert
  14. OK, thanks for clarifying. However, in regards to B41 deployment on Sprint Network Vision sites, there currently isn't any data in the Premier Sponsor section. There are many references in the public section where we have stated B41 on Sprint NV sites begins in Q2 2014. I really appreciate that you erred on the side of caution. I can respect that! Robert
  15. I get your point. But aren't you comparing plans now, and not the subsidized versus financing models? I wasn't addressing people who complain about Framily, more so those who are complaining about losing their upgrades. My point is people shouldn't care merely about the difference of a two year contract subsidy versus financing and owning your device. Because they never earned an upgrade, and aren't losing an upgrade. If Framily doesn't meet people's needs, they won't use it. But it's currently the way to get around paying a monthly subsidy fee on top of paying for your device too. Sprint is probably going to have to come up with more plans for folks coming off contract where Framily isn't a good option for them. Because they may move to another provider. But that's another subject. And now we are definitely getting off topic. Me included. Robert
  16. Anywhere you see an accepted 3G site on our maps, eCSFB should be live. However, there have been exceptions noted where this did not occur. Likely hiccups with eCSFB implementation at the site or on the network. They usually get worked out though in a few days or weeks. Robert
  17. I think I've only read 2015. And never a specific time in 2015. So late 2015 doesn't seem out of line from what I;ve seen. I think I do remember once reading that B41 CA capable devices may be out before 2015. Maybe that's what you're thinking of in regards to late 2014? Robert

  19. Unfortunately, the G2 (after Spark update) shows the Spark indicator no matter what LTE it is connected to, even B25 and B26. The only way to discern which LTE Band you're on is in the LTE Engineering screens. This is true of all Triband devices to date, post Spark update. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  20. The carrier cards are installed at the cabinets, fortunately. The radios on the tower are controlled from there. Something to be hopeful about, though. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro

  22. Are you referring to 1x on 800? Because Sprint has had 1x on 1900 since it started service in Alabama. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  23. I'm failing to see the difference between a subsidized device with a two year contract, and a device financed for two years with a reduced monthly payment. Except when financing the device, you have more options. I will never understand you folks who think you earned a reward or perk to upgrade at the end of your contract. It is not a reward or perk. It's something they offer to everyone, even new customers. It's just the privilege to get locked down for two more years. You aren't getting something for nothing. You are still paying full price for your device. The financing was already in your monthly payment all along in the form of subsidy. This is all just a change of terminology and the abolition of contracts. But there is still a de facto contract by virtue of an unpaid balance on your device that you would need to pay to leave. But that's more fair than an ETF. Because an ETF is still in place, even long after some devices would have been paid for. And you can pay off only your device balance early. Sometimes ETF's are far more than the value of the device. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  24. There is one accepted in Colorado. It is shown in the Premier Sponsor thread. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
