Guess the releasing 800smr support to all capable customers is a non-event eh? :)

Sent from my C64 w/Epyx FastLoad cartridge

Might be a little more excited if I had my Evo LTE in hand and it was November. Till then it does me no good.

Yes. For Chicago Sprint customers, your phone will check the standard PCS channels first. If it cannot find any PCS channels it will check the 800SMR band before roaming. It will also check the PCS band for EVDO data when connected on the SMR. Kinda dumb if you ask me, if PCS EVDO was available then you wouldn't be on SMR for voice in the first place. Just wasted battery looking for a EV signal.

This is only on the 21xxx PRLs on 800SMR 1XA capable phones, by the way.

If PCS EVO was available, and an SMR voice was too, wouldn't you technically be able to do sim v/d? Unless the device is connecting to only one "connection" at a time.

Not if the same chip handles both CDMA voice and EV-DO.

Of course *head smack* need more coffee

Coffee infusion! That is the biggest disadvantage that hindered the growth of CDMA/EVDO.
