HTC Hardware keyboards

Every person I have known that said they HAD to have a hardware keyboard on their phone has done a complete 180 after getting a phone that's a full touch screen. I think they are just being stubborn and don't want to take the time to get used to full touch screen typing. Especially with the amazing auto corrects we have now days, it's just a lot faster...

I am one of those folks as I have had keyboards on my devices for over 10 years. I will say I still miss my physical keyboard. Although I do have to say the new EVO keyboard is not near as awful as the iphone one. That one is downright painful.

The wife had a iPhone 4 as a loaner phone and I agree, that on screen keyboard is BRUTAL. I think a lot of it is the size of the phone screens and the size the keys can be on the bigger devices. Things like swype and swiftkey are great for improving accuracy and speed.

I went from a full touchscreen keyboard owning an iPhone 4 before I went to a hardware keyboard. With Swype I don't miss my Shift too much, but I still like a hardware keyboard.

Back when I had my G1 I said I would never go to a touchscreen keyboard. I always thought my fingers would be too fat to use one effectively. I switched to a touchscreen with the EVO and haven't regretted the decision. I do agree that the iPhone keyboard doesn't work well for me at all.

I have fat fingers and never really had any problems with the iPhone keyboard, except the occasional wrong letter, but that wasn't much.
