THE IDEA FACTORY Bell Labs and the Great Age of American Innovation

Came across a book on the History of Bell Labs.  Jon Gertner's The Idea Factory, was an interesting read.  Interesting to see how Bell Labs conceived the future, which is now the present.  Book goes into the development of transistors, solar cells, RADAR, microwave communications, information theory, satellites, UNIX, CCDs, LASERs, lightguides and the list goes on and on.
