Pre NV problems

Recommended Posts

Has anyone experienced problems with incoming calls in markets that are pre-NV? Columbus market rolled out eHRPD months ago and starting in February all phones on my account began to "ignore" incoming calls. When I spent 2 hours on the phone with support, after wiping my phone, reset, reset, reset, OMG another wipe??! the recommendation was to take my handset to a tech store to have it checked. The tech checked my phone and it was perfectly fine. The tech checked my account and discovered something called "blocks" and said they were high. He also said it's a compatibility problem with new 800 MHz hardware that is being deployed and there are tickets opened to be resolved.

Has anyone else had this problem in pre-NV markets? Service is horrible. I can make outgoing calls fine but it's hard to be reached if I'm not in range of an airave (I have two). I feel like a lab rat.

I havent seen specific pre nv problems but sometimes phones have issues and need an update to fix incoming calls not going through. In south bend some people have incoming call issues and i know lots including me with out going text issues during nv. It all started with 800/1900 3g roll out here but we were told to expect it.

I had a problem similar to this. After I flashed my phone to another rom. Everything was working fine but when someone tried calling me it'd go straight to voice mail. Then like 2 weeks since the problem started a chatted with sprint and told them I couldn't receive phone calls and they said it was an software issue on their side and they made me turn my phone and the guy did something and told me to turn it back and now finally working. Who knows it might just be an software issue on sprints side.

2 of my devices started experiencing this issue about 3-4 weeks ago. Sprint CS was terrible at first in trying to get the issue resolved. They blamed my device and signal strength then offered me an AirRave that I refused. Finally my issue got escalated to S.P.R.T (Service Performance Resolution Team). He attempted to troubleshoot it but was unable to resolve it so I got a credit. A few days later my phone started receiving phone calls on the initial ring instead of the 5 - 6 rings it would take to ring my actual phone. This only happened though when I was connected to tower closes to my home.

This might be similar to the issues Chicago saw during the early NV roll outs.  The Samsung NV equipment was not "compatible" with the Legacy Motorola equipment, so changes towers was impossible and calls hard dropped.  I've actually seen it in Michigan too.  It you are on the border of an upgraded tower and a legacy tower, you might be bouncing back and forth causing some problems.

I have the same issue as your phone. In the end, I got a airwave. Now, since NV completed in my area, appreantly the problem is resolved.

I'm having problems with my 3g! Every few days my 3g up arrow will stay lit like it's uploading something, While this is going on I have no data connection. The only way to fix this is toggling airplane mode on/off.

I have the new HTC One and thought it is a defective unit but after hearing this...NV might be the culprit! I live in the LA market where towers are being upgraded everywhere around me.

Btw I start receiving Lte 3 weeks ago.

Sprint's pushing out another software/modem update for the S3 phones, could be for your phone too. They told me about it a couple weeks ago while spending two weeks getting the airave working. Think about a 500 meg file on really really slow 3G connection, it will stop your data. Just jump on a wifi somewhere and it will download from there. I do hate their updates as they will kill your battery even on one bar downloading that file instead of waiting on a strong signal or being on wifi.

My problem has never been making calls, sending or receiving texts or using data. it has been in receiving calls where they just go to voicemail. Trying to run a construction business away from the office and being reachable has definitely left a nasty taste in the mouths of decision makers.

I can relate to this, two other family members are Realtors & both hate Sprint.
