2.6Ghz & 800Mhz Phones

Hello,

Sorry, I'm sort of new here (first time to post), so I apologize if this is already posted elsewhere.

Does anyone have any insight on when Sprint will be providing phones with 2.6Ghz and/or 800Mhz LTE radios? If so, any specific models? I'm eligible for an upgrade and I'd like to future-proof my next phone a bit. I don't mind waiting to upgrade as I'm fairly happy with my Nexus. 2.6Ghz would be preferable since I'm in the Houston metro and propagation isn't necessarily as important to top-end speed, but 800Mhz would be nice for when inside buildings and 1.9Ghz falls off... Thanks!

I thought about waiting for a tri-band phone, but realized that PCS coverage is solid pretty much where I go, and 800 LTE will help cover any other gaps.

As long as I get a consistent 5-7mbps down, I'm fine. I don't necessarily care or need 2.5 for overlay.

Maybe not daily but I could really use it at big sporting events and in packed commercial areas of town (malls).

So far no devices with 800 or 2600 LTE have passed thru the FCC. Hopefully they will start soon.

Josh, it seems that you have figured out how to parse the FCC OET database. I am not sure that I like you stealing my thunder...

Any chance SMR LTE phones include the 850 band as well? Verizon recently said they plan to refarm EVDO as LTE on 850 as soon as they can, I bet companies like US Cellular would do the same. Sprint probably wont have roaming agreements with those companies, but maybe they'll get more flexibility in acquiring spectrum and roaming deals and phones from including the entire smr+cellular bands.

Band 26 is a superset of both SMR 800 MHz and Cellular 850 MHz bands.
