This is a crappy photo and i know this is a sprint tower to get the upgrade at us 19 and mainlands blvd. i am just not sure if this is the Sprint RRU or At&t anyways you can see the green LED from blocks away. https://www.dropbox.com/s/4e5ista42u7iwoz/Photo%20Dec%2026%2C%2011%2055%2004%20PM.jpg

Wow. There is no way I can tell from that photo. Sorry.

Question for the LTE enabled... went by a site this morning on the way to work checking for LTE. The RRU's are easy to see and since it was dark I could see the lights on them. All I could see were blinking lights on just about all of the RRUs. Slow green blinking lights. I was curious if you were seeing the same on your LTE enabled sites.

I'm not sure if they blink or not, the site I went by the other day was slowly blinking, but it was not LTE enabled. Other sites that I have gone by were not blinking, and they were also not LTE enable yet. One of the many in progress sites in Kansas. Sites that were LTE enabled, I haven't noticed any blinking, just the green LEDs on the RRUs.

Do you know how often the gets updated. Watching one of my lines as the site they work near has panels and RRUs up and figured I would just look at the account instead of nagging them.

-- "Sensorly or it didn't happen!"

So wanted to let you know. I texted usage to 1311 at 7:47am and then just now at 1:12pm and it gave me updated info so it is at least updated every 4 hours.

That's what I figured, AT&T's Ericsson LTE RRU's here have solid green lights on them. Figured that was some sort of "OK" mode indicator.

A few months back there was a girl in the Sprint store raising hell about losing service on the beach and how she couldn't wait till her contract was up.

I live in Largo really close to Indian Rocks Beach, and lately my service has been anywhere from 0 to 2 bars way too often. I keep getting an all circuits busy ring and it will not go through and complete the phone call. Can get pretty annoying if I'm not at home with my Airwave. I'm hoping that is soon to change whenever they finish working with that tower.

does anyone know where to look for the updated maps, one i was looking at seem to be from march.

The nv sites complete map? It's in the sponsors section. Or a schedule map? There haven't been any updates to the schedule, and that data is no longer current.

I was on Indian rocks rd between walsingham and w bay and had 3g but no 1x at all. Never seen that happen before anywhere. The tower in that area seems to be broadcasting evdo with no 1x.

I am currently at the starkey road site and looks like their work is compete with the exception of their backbone. I do not see any fiber, they currently have several t-1's there is a new cabinet that is hanging on the back of their telecom interconnect and the LTE cabinets are powered on. I have LTE signal however the speed test from here is nothing more that a couple of meg down and 1.5 upload.

Not sure what you are asking. There are no updated schedule maps. We haven't had any new information since last summer.

Yes, there are animated maps in the sponsors section, as well as the current completed map.

Mike did you take a look at your signal strength? That tower over by the Largo Mall throws a signal and the one by 54th does the same. I wonder if you picked up one of those..

That is possible, my signal strength was only 2 bars. I thought it would not be that strong being under the base of the tower. See the screen shot on the link for my signal strength and speed test while that that site.

I'm about to drive by there so I'll check. What I have found is if I approach a site that I suspect is live my signal should should become better as I get closer, drop AT the site and driving by will result in the signal picking up again.

For example, what I'm seeing in our area is from a live LTE site to the next that is not live about -124. I suspect if the site was live there is something that will tell the phone to hand off to the next site well before it reaches that signal level. Because we don't have two sites yet that are handoffs to another I haven't been able to test what the threshold is.

This is all unscientific of course because I'm only using my phone as my tool but I think it's a pretty good place to start. I'm hoping this week we will have two sites where I can test from one to another

Thanks for the photos. The new cabinets look exactly like the new cabinets that were dropped off by Ericsson today at my site in New Mexico.

    • Your referring to the $25.00 a month Infinite Unlimited plan?  I don't see any other plans on there even cheaper than that on their website.  I was looking at the Motorola 2023 Edge fwiw as well for $10.00 a month.
    • A heavy n41 overlay as an acquisition condition would be a win for customers, and eventually a win for T-Mobile as that might be enough to preclude VZW/AT&T adding C-Band for FWA due to spreading the market too thinly (which means T-Mobile would just have local WISPs/wireline ISPs as competition). USCC spacing (which is likely for contiguous 700 MHz LTE coverage in rural areas) isn't going to be enough for contiguous n41 anyway, and I doubt they'll densify enough to get there.
    • Boost Infinite with a rainbow SIM (you can get it SIM-only) is the cheapest way, at $25/mo, to my knowledge; the cheaper Boost Mobile plans don't run on Dish native. Check Phonescoop for n70 support on a given phone; the Moto G 5G from last year may be the cheapest unlocked phone with n70 though data speeds aren't as good as something with an X70 or better modem.
    • Continuing the USCC discussion, if T-Mobile does a full equipment swap at all of USCC's sites, which they probably will for vendor consistency, and if they include 2.5 on all of those sites, which they probably will as they definitely have economies of scale on the base stations, that'll represent a massive capacity increase in those areas over what USCC had, and maybe a coverage increase since n71 will get deployed everywhere and B71 will get deployed any time T-Mobile has at least 25x25, and maybe where they have 20x20. Assuming this deal goes through (I'm betting it does), I figure I'll see contiguous coverage in the area of southern IL where I was attempting to roam on USCC the last time I was there, though it might be late next year before that switchover happens.
    • Forgot to post this, but a few weeks ago I got to visit these small cells myself! They're spread around Grant park and the surrounding areas, but unfortunately none of the mmwave cells made it outside of the parks along the lake into the rest of downtown. I did spot some n41 small cells around downtown, but they seemed to be older deployments limited to 100mhz and performed poorly.
