digiblur
Tower mapped http://db.tt/zTbILKO6 As of now.. Mapped means you drove around with Sensorly. I could go connect to LTE right now, pull up those stupid tower map apps and it shows the tower in the middle of the pond. When according to the serving cell ID the site is 5 miles away. digiblur
Is the bsid accurate? That's your 1x BSID.. And it may not even show correctly. Only ground work and serving cell IDs figure out where a site is at. Sent from my little Note2
tampaflusa
I'm pretty sure its the one near Chick fila on Bruce B Downs and Bearss or the one on Fletcher near 22nd street area. Robert said there will be a update tonight so we will see. Possibly the one on Livingston north of Bearss, there are so many in that area. SpenceSouth
getting LTE at the USF rec center near the Perkins um getting 102db and using cdma field test app it maps the base station as the one on Perkins. I'd expect it to be stronger since I'm 1/2 mile away. I doubt I'm picking up the tower on bears as my phone barely pucks it up on flercher There is a new one on Bruce B Downs off of 42nd street that I mapped the other day. I think I posted about it too thinking it was the Perkins tower. It practically covers the whole campus right now, but not indoors.

I was at the papa johns off Bruce b downs and 42nd a couple of days ago and was getting pretty good signal. I thought it was the one behind the fire station since the signal died when i got to 42nd and fletcher Im jealous of my girlfriend's S3, that thing pulls doen 8-10 db more than my Evo LTE

I'm curious to see the difference for myself. It was turned on last Friday or Saturday I think. Coincidentally I found out when I was debugging my app that night lol. SpenceSouth
How can you determine the tower based on the serving cell ID. I have done some searching and found no results. Kinda just have to figure it out for yourself. Stand in front of the tower and take note of what the BSID is. Typically I have seen a range of three depending on which section of the tower is broadcasting your way. So if you noted a BSID of 8511, drive in a different direction and see that it has changed to 8510, you are still connected to the same tower just a different section. Make sense? I know the BSID's of two nearby towers and use it to figure out which tower is serving me at a given time. digiblur
How can you determine the tower based on the serving cell ID. I have done some searching and found no results. And note that BSIDs are diff from serving cell. No way to determine. Just have to use your LTE Engineering screens to find them. Depending on your phone type they are grouped together by the 3 sectors. What type of phone are you using? Sent from my little Note2

Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD if you are connected to LTE the CDMA field test app will not show you evdo or 1x. I have noticed that the evdo signal drops quickly, right in front of perkins i get 60 db by the time i get to fletcher and 56 its down to 90 db

We have a lot of towers each within a mile or less of each other. The panel down tilt must be considerable. If you made it to Fletcher and 56th then you were probably just under the signal from the Sprint tower on that corner. I'm surprised your phone didn't switch over actually. Have you seen nv panels around there?

Have you seen nv panels around there? You said Fletcher and 56th before, but Im going to guess that you actually meant saw signal drop on Fowler lol. The tower is right behind the gas station at Fletcher/56th. I've been watching out for awhile but no NV panels yet. If you are at the intersection of Fowler and 56th then you are about equal distance from both towers. They each cover a really small area when you think about it, so you know capacity is essential to this area. poyo
Sorry I meant fletcher and 56th. That tower would cover my apartment really well :-) I'm just hoping that when the Perkins towers lights up I'm able to pick it up on fletcher and 56th since it'll probably be a while until I that one gets lte
