Alright folks. Here ya go. As you'll see I've done a lot of driving in a circle tonight. Laid down more purp.

 

 

 

Cell Sectors:

 

 

 

203 South/Southwest

 

388 East

 

390 North/Northwest (NO Kanye Pun intended)

 

 

 

Speaking my language now! Good job.

 

 

Any idea why the Cell IDs are spaced like that? Those numbers are completely random.

Im not sure how accurate the maps on this app are as it doesnt tell you weather your looking at wimax or LTE but it shows you what tower your connected too pretty well https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.staircase3.opensignal&hl=en

No idea, but they may not be random at all once you start keeping track of them for the sites as 4G comes you guys might find a pattern.

The app unfortunately has the same downfall of the others only showing the 1XRTT tower that you're connected to.

When they build out LTE how far out do they go to insure coverage for the area.  I live in London and while I have no hopes for LTE out here I was just wondering where it would probably drop off or be picked up depending on which way I was traveling.

Depends on terrain. It's been discussed that people have had hits from towers over 10 miles away in some markets.

Very dynamic depending on the RF design from a city block to basically whatever the curvature of the Earth will allow.  I've personally seen 10 miles away a few times.  Some members in our market hit 16 miles across water with one site.  Of course those connections really aren't usable, but they'll pop up.

The majority of sprint towers will be receiving NV upgrades with lte, so hopefully you'll be enjoying lte sooner than later.

Went thru the area today with my i5. Was expecting to pick LTE up before I got to morse rd heading south on Cleveland. Nada but when I bust that right to head west on Morse????. Pulled to my fav store GC and enjoyed. Real world testing wasn't as fast as I know they could be but hey 1wk ago we had nothing. It can only get better

I don't know if Bucyrus Ohio means that much to most of the people on this forum but  network vision got turned on today.  For me im excited because I live in Marion which means we are one step closer to getting network vision here.

Got back a little bit ago from the Morse Rd site.  I was delighted to find my phone, EVO, pick up the 4g signal on it's own while on a phone call.  Did a couple of speed tests and checked some websites and Facebook.  I cannot wait for this to be available everywhere.  The speeds were just incredible compared to usual.  The service didn't reach too far, by the time I was two streets west of Easton I had already lost the signal and tried flipping airplane mode a couple of times to re-engage with no luck.  I know Robert had mentioned that we would be seeing mostly 3G upgrades to start, is this tower just a coincidence then?

Did you try driving further west? The tower that's generating that signal is further west on Morse.

 

We have a few 3G upgrades completed and many in progress so I wasn't too shocked to see an LTE one myself. Hopefully we see or find another 2 within the next 2 weeks.

No, I was headed to Easton for lunch and then went straight home after that.  I received LTE just a couple blocks from 71 heading east on Morse.  Just surprised to see so much Sensorly purple based on that one tower.  I guess I really do need a new phone to get a better radio, .

I will say comparing actual Sensorly colors to actual usage, I usually don't even look at the very very faint purple as that is not usable, the next lightest color....meh...probably not either.  Hard to explain without me posting screenshots or something, but you'll quickly catch on to which colors are actual usable connections.  I have many areas around me that show light purple around that makes it look like LTE is available when in reality it is simply not there, even in 100% LTE site active areas.

My bad. I thought you were saying that you got on Morse from 270E area and only went 2 blocks west of Easton. I know see that you were saying your signal dropped when you were almost to Easton from 71.

My phone showed 4g in place of the 3g but by the time I noticed and tried to access anything tgat required data my phone just hung then south of roberts on 270 4g went away 3g came back on

So I would certainly assume the lte signal is not reaching that far from the tower on the NE side of Columbus so I am going to hilliard got to see what else I can figure out I will report back tonight after rush hour traffic dies down
